OMG, lots of lost pictures! HELP PLEASE!!!

So I went into my iphoto and when I looked at all the little thumbnails of pics, they were there. When I tried to use the slider on the bottom to enlarge the thumbs, they turned into the little exlamation marks. So I started to search Google on what to do and I did the opt+com buttons, and rebuild and stuff but it hasn't helped. I have sooo many missing photo's that I could never replace and I pray they are not gone. I have no idea what to do and really need some laymen help here because I don't have a clue how to work this thing. I didn't have anything backed up, I didn't think I needed to cause it's a mac. Some places I saw to move the library to the desktop but I have no idea how to even do that. I need a super descriptive step by step on what to do if I have a chance of getting all my pictures back.
I am so upset, please help me :((

Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
Well ignore that one - you don't have a backup, do you. I find it amusing that folks think they don't need a back up because they're using Mac. You can be very sure that Steve Jobs has a back up. If you use a computer you need a back up.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
Try this.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop. That means go to your Pictures Folder and you'll see the iPhoto Library there. Drag it to the desktop.
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

I got a new iphone last week and I set up an icloud account on my old iphone to make sure I would have all of my pictures on my new iphone. Now I set up my new iphone and none of my pictures are there. Is there any way I can get those pictures back? Or is there anyway I can find them. Any help would be amazing!

Move the photos from the Trash bin in iPhoto onto the Library icon to get them back in their proper events. Then check the thumbnails to see if they are still behaving the same. If they are make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Hello, I recently downloaded the latest version of Blackberry Messenger. I have a Blackberry Curve 9300. The display pictures of BBM contacts wont appear on BBM though and they can't see my display picture. Please tell me how to fix this. Also I have the latest software and BBM.

Safari is saving every site I've been on into the search bar on my MacBook AIR OMG soooo MAD!! Help PLEASE!!!!!!

Today I went to PowerPoint and then I clicked Insert > Slides from > Other Presentation
Now a box pops up and says "Choose a File" on the title bar. Then it says Choose a file containing slides you want to insert
So now it says: search: This Mac Home Desktop Contents File Name with "this mac" and "contents" highlighted
And then in the search bar to the far right with the magnify glass I typed the phrase "nos.." by accident...then I noticed almost EVERY webpage/instragram/youtube I've ever been on comes up, some of them listed numerous times.
I see all these random youtube videos Ive watched, all these websties, and the worst peoples instagrams that Ive been stalking LMAO!! Like when I type in for example "ashley" it comes up ashley9234 (for example) instagram 6 times in a row listed, but some pages only once, all these webpages everything omg I cant sleep knowing almost every site Ive ever been to is there..and you cant click it or delete it, I just dont like to see it.
And I did click "Reset Safari" , clear history everynight before I turn off my computer, but you see that is not the problem...the problem is that why stuff Ive visited from even 7 months ago show up , and why some are listed numerous times like 6 times in a row...omg Apple...you have let me down big time. Now I can never sell my mac ever!!! So next laptop is soo gonna be Sony or something..guys please..I really really really need your help Im losing sleep over this

Yes, I do that every 30 minutes, thats not the issue tho, because it shows like for example, 4 months ago i search a celebrity on wikipedia ONCE, and it shows up if you type that first name in the search bar......

Lost Pictures, Help!!

I cannot find any pictures after May 2012 on my external hard drive even though I did a COMPLETE back up in Feb. 2013. Where can I find my pictures on the external hard drive?
I went to Users > "MaW1028" > Pictures > Right Click on Iphoto to show package contents
However all I found were folders from 1999-2012. I really need these pictures back!!
Any ideas?

I'm happy to help out a user who's so good keeping good backups. Not everyone is as smart as you.
Instead of using iPhoto, see if you can perform a Spotlight search (command-space), and see if you can locate pictures you know should be there; i.e., look for familiar image names that might lead you to your lost photos. Also, in iPhoto, see if you can find the photos in the Trash. I'm presumimg that the recent photos might still be on your computer's HD, somewhere.
In Time Machine and even CarbonCopyCloner, you still might be able to retrieve your photos.

Texting and just being in the HUB uses a lot of power. Help, please!

First let me say that if any BlackBerry rep posts that useless battery saving guide in response to my question, I will flip.
Being in the hub uses 1-1.6 watts of power which is the same amount that facebook or twitter uses, if not more. This should not happen. I've tried to contact via twitter the BlackBerryHelp people but they never got back to me. There is no 1-800 number. I'm asking everyone if this is normal? I have done every single battery tweak I can and this is still happening. I am at my wits end. I can watch the battery percentage tick away while composing an email or a text. I have two batteries. Both experience the same drain. Thank you for your time

I haven't experienced serious battery drain on my Z10 (yet).
I'm not super technical when it comes to the watts of power used by the Hub but if that's where EVERYTHING is being updated, wouldn't it make sense that it would use a higher than average amount of power?

Droid Pro Picture Help PLEASE

Is there any way that you can separate your pictures in to "NEW" folders and can you set folders to "secured"? All of my old photos from my other phone where transfered and there are some that are, let's call them...."Private"! As soon as I open "Gallery" there are some pictures in a "camera roll" , "my tags", "folders" and "all photos" icons. I have no idea how some pictures got in to these icons and why?!?!? PLEASE tell me that there is a way to move and organize all the pictures

You can mount drive and orginize your images into folders just like you can on a desktop and as for making the folder private, there is a number of apps that you can secure some folders with passwords to have it where they cant be viewed of opened without passwords.

You transferred the files to the sd card and the Gallery will show all files on the drive unless you hide the files... You can also place a .nomedia file in the folder or place a period (Example: change Folder to ".Folder" ) before the name of the folde to hide it from all apps but file manager.

Ipod library LOST! Help, please!

I recently ran the automatic cleaner on my computer to organize unused files... after that, when I went to plug my ipod in, none of my files showed up on the screen and it said something like, "Would you like to transfer files or erase and sync?" I picked "transfer files", and this transferred only about 18 files (more than 200 were on the ipod).
So then I did something I regret; I pressed "erase and sync". That made the rest of the files disappear from my ipod too. Is there ANY way I can get my files back, or are they lost forever?
(Would it work if I hit "system restore" on my computer?)

Pressing "Erase and Sync" when iTunes brings up the dialogue window asking whether you want to replace the songs on your iPod with the songs in this iTunes does exactly what it says. If you linked to an iTunes with only a few or completely different songs it will have erased your original iPod song list. There are some data recovery programs on the market. I've no personal experience of them so I can't say how effective they are, here's an example: iPod Data RecoveryBuegie - Recovering Songs
None of the recovery programs are particularly cheap so you have to decide if in your particular circumstances it's worth it to get your songs back. If they came primarily from your CDs then it's most likely not as you can re-rip them.

I don't know what you did, but try right clicking on the iPhoto Library and "show package contents" there should be a folder inside called Originals, Finder > duplicate that and move OriginalsCopy out (peak inside it using Preview to view) and close the iPhoto Library window.
Once that is done and your files are safe then try rebuilding your iPhoto database

Lost Songs HELP PLEASE!!

Hi. Ive got a 4GB iPod Nano. I put some new songs in my library and tried to sync my iPod. I had 995 songs in my library. It said this was too many, and something about a playlist. I clicked OK and it synced but i only have 962 songs on my iPod and i cant sync any songs at all now.

You get this problem when the option 'Sync Music - Selected playlists' is being used to sync your iPod and then the playlist it has been updating from is deleted. Most people use this setting when the iPod is smaller than the iTunes library. If your library is larger than the capacity of your iPod, iTunes by default makes a new playlist called something along the lines of "Owner's iPod". If you for any reason delete it, you will not be able to sync your iPod.
Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -iPod to make it the first playlist in Sources. You can make this a normal playlist and drag whatever you want to it or you can make it a random Smart playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod (for example 3700MB for a 4G iPod Nano). Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting:

Did you backup the iPad first? If you did - restore from the backup in order to restore the photos in the Saved Album on your iPad. If the photos were synced to the iPad, then sync them back again via iTunes.

If you did backup first, you will be restoring your most recent backup and you should be OK. But know that when you restore from a backup, you restore everything that is in that backup onto the iPad .... All documents, device settings, all data and so on. You cannot just select photos to restore to the iPad. It's all or nothing.

Albums is a way or sorting photos. Photos aren't moved from the Camera roll. The Camera Roll consists of all the photos on the phone. If you delete from Camera Roll they are deleted everywhere but Photo Stream.
Are you using Photo Stream? Your photos, providing they wer recent should still be in Photo Stream. If you have Photo Stream set up on your computer they should all be there.

Check to make sure the iPhoto Advanced preferences are set to copy photos into the library when importing, i.e. a "managed" library:
If it is and you don't see any thumbnail in the Event they should be in apply the two fixes below in order as needed:

And you are quite persistent, Menu Boy, in offering pernickety and pointless prattle, in response to a "support page" on iPad's buggy Pages App.
Let's summarise, for those reviewing this threadless thread for app support..
Mobile pages works reliably for simple docs, especially creating letters and Menus for Microsoft's Kindy canteen (even on special days with nice big pictures).
When importing more complex docs and/or working with larger creations, it is prone to randomly corrupting files upon re-opening, along similar lines as Word (running on a PC).
So, Menu Boy, do they let you sneak into classes every now and then? What is the secret to their training? "Say after me, if any I.T. product works just some of the time, that's a job well done, and if something randomly stops working, we call that the user's fault... And if they complain, we call them names."
