Omg... songs deleted through no fault of my own...

I was just listening to my iPod connected to my Windows XP laptop. Then all of a sudden, it stopped, then deleted about 500 songs. It seems to have gone back in time to what was on my iPod about 2 years ago. I use manual sync. Can I ever get these songs back? I don't even know where to begin to recollect all these songs

If there were a back up of those songs it would be easy to reload them back to the iPod.
If there was no back up (presumably the songs have been deleted from the computer), then unless you want to try some data recovery software, then they are gone forever. Here's a link to post about such software.

This is why it's important to keep a back up all your music on a computer or ext hard drive.

  • IPod Touch apps will not open (through no fault of my own)

I'm really starting to get frustrated. I just got my new iPod Touch 2 days ago. I loved it. However, today I tried opening several of my apps but they won't open.
    1. I tried connecting the iPod back to iTunes to see if they just didn't synchronize correctly... didn't work.
    2. I tried to reset all settings in the settings menu... didn't work.
    3. Tried resetting the iPod by holding the sleep and home keys... didn't work.
The last option is to delete all the apps and download them again, which I don't want to do. I feel like of I have to download them again after 2 days, then how many more times will this happen? (Understand what I mean?)
The music and video playback is fine, but if this was all I wanted, I would have saved $150 and bought an iPod Classic.
I'm sure this problem has a reasonable solution that doesn't involve deleting or re-installing anything. I'm just hoping that one of you know what that solution is.
    Hope you can help me.
    Thank you for your time.

It could be that you are trying to run apps that require version 3 software, and although you've only just bought your Touch, there are several posts on the forum which suggest that they are still being shipped with version 2.
To find out which version your Touch is running, go from the (Touch's) *Main Menu* to Settings/General/About and look at the version number towards the bottom of that list. If it's version 3, then there's a different problem, but if it's version 2 (or 2.2.1), read on.
Go to the *iTunes Store/apps* section and look up the apps that don't work. (Once in the store, you can type the app name into the *Search iTunes Store* box at the top right.) Towards the bottom of the screen, on the right hand side is the heading REQUIREMENTS and under here is says *Compatible with ...* & also *Requires iPhone OS ??? or later.*
Many apps only require 2.2.1, but if obviously, if you have one that requires version 3 and your Touch is only on version 2.2.1, that's likely to be the problem. (A less likely problem is the *Compatible with ...* An app that is only compatible with the iPhone, but not with the Touch is usually because the app makes use of the phone parts of the iPhone which are not on the Touch.)
So, is it the version number? If so, the solution is to upgrade your Touch to version 3. The bad news is that you have to pay for it. It's approximately 10US$ or £5.99 here in the UK. (I know what you're going to say, "why am I paying again when I've only just bought it?" The Apple view is that version 3 is a major upgrade to the operating system that offers new features and is not part of "maintaining" the existing OS. I cannot answer why new Apple are shipping new Touch's with the old OS - because I don't know, sorry.)
If you do require the new OS, I recommend that grit your teeth and buy it. To do this, connect your Touch to your iTunes and look (in iTunes) on the Summary pane. Somewhere at the top of the pane will be information about whether your Touch is "up to date" and you should be able to see the option to upgrade.

  • Are you 100% sure I'm losing Showtime through no fault of my own tonight at midnight?

And if so what happens then? Does my U-450 bill go down? Does EPIX replace Showtime in the U-300 and U-450 packages? Does it really do any good to call and curse someone out on the phone? Or is just switching providers my best option? I know some of you don't care about this, but for me it's like I'm at the hospital just waiting for someone in intensive care to die right now. I feel that the plug gets pulled at midnight. I feel that unlike the FS1 dispute, this one is 100% all the fault of AT&T. They want to wait for the merger closes to make a deal. They thought that would happen by today but it didn't. But they still want to wait. And they don't care if their customers go without Showtime until the merger does close. The thing is, that might be some time in 2016! I'm not willing to do without Showtime that long.

Don't get all worked up until it/if goes dark after midnite tonite.

  • Is there anyway to get your iPhone 5 replaced if it is under warranty, and you are being forced to switch carriers through no fault of your own?

My wife and I both have 64GB iphone 5. I am military and we had to move to a new town. Our service is with AT&T. They called us to tell us we were off network, and we could not use any of the data we pay for every month. And they have the option to terminate our contract at any time. So my question is, if this happens does anyone know if carriers, or apple will switch out your phone, or do we have to buy new ones.

Afraid you will have to buy new phones.  Neither Apple nor any carrier I've ever had has considered that sort of thing a condition to replace your devices (AT&T and others have let people out of their contracts without penalty because of moving though).
Before you leave AT&T, ask them to unlock your phones.  Then, you may be able to use them with T-Mobile - although T-Mobile is not fully compatable with all iPhone features yet, their service may be an option until you are ready to buy new devices.  Also, your iPhone 5's would likely still get you a decent return if you sold them, or just used something like Gazelle (Gazelle's web site just came up with an offer of $380 for 32GB iPhone 5, factory unlocked in flawless condition - $400 for your 64GB devices with the same conditions).
So, you should be able to get enough for your iPhone 5's to pay the subsidized new contract cost of new iPhones with Verizon or Sprint.

  • I have two 2nd generation iPods and iTunes will no longer let me delete songs (Delete in gray)?

I have two 2nd generation iPods and iTunes will no longer let me delete music from either one. If I select a song, "Delete" is gray in the menu and cannot be selected. What's happened? New iTunes not compatible?

In order to manually remove music from the iPod via iTunes, you need to have the Manually manage music and videos option checked from under each iPod's Summary tab.

  • Songs delete themselves

Hi, I've been set on a quest to figure out my nieces ipod nano (i have a regular 2nd gen ipod)- her ipod charges fine and i just set it to my mac with no problem but the issue that i'm trying to resolve is that her ipod will get songs on it for about a week, then when the battery dies the songs are all erased... I searched for as long as I had the patience to find something on this topic but I couldnt find anything... so to recap...
    - battery is fine
    - songs upload fine
    - songs delete themselves when ipod battery dies (about a week into normal usage)
how do I get the songs to stay on after the ipod dies?? (I realize that keeping it charged would eliminate issues but she is 8 and that won't ever happen)
    thanks... Dani

Is your iPod set to automatically update? If so, are all the songs still in your iTunes library? If not, this is probably the cause.
If it is, you may want to restore your iPod and then resync it with iTunes...
    Restore iPod
Also, make sure you never disconnect your iPod when it says not to.
Is the software on your iPod and your computer up to date?

    Hi,
    As mentioned by Archana,
SE38 > RPUAUD00 > execute > Give PERNR in personnel number field > give IT2001in infotype field > select long term documents > Excecute > Double click on particualr recors > the you can see old value and new value. There is column named action. From that column you can see whether particular record is created or updated or deleted....

  • Songs deleted still appear on my music library in gray

Songs deleted stil appear on my music library in gray.  how do I delete those?

This is actually the exact reason why I am asking if anyone has an idea of what I should do. I did delete the songs from iTunes using my computer, however, they still appear on my phone, some of them can still be played and other can't. When I plus my iPhone in my computer and open iTunes, it shows that there's supposed to be no songs left on it, but I still see them if I look on the phone.
Does anybody know what could be the problem?

  • Distorted songs playing through latest version of iTunes

I recently upgrade to 12.1.0.71 Itunes (OSWindows 8) and now the songs playing through iTunes are distorted... I have tested all other music on my computer through WMP and that comes through perfect..any clues to how to fix...was fine before this recent upgrade...

    This version of iTunes 12.1:
iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
seems to address the playback issues that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version (the installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer).  The "for older video cards" does not seem to fully define the scope of systems for which this alternative works better.

When my husband set up my iPad, he imported my daughter's phone contacts.  Is there a way to delete her contacts and import my own?

The iPad must always be synced to one computer using the Apple ID that it was originally synced to. Otherwise all apps & files will be deleted. There's no way to retrieve once erased.
Is there a backup on a different computer?
