Omniportlet Export

Hi,
I am having issue while trying to export/import page with lot's of omniportlets. Each portlet has definitions to display data.
When i import this page in new environment i Loose all the omniportlet definitions. I get only blank portlets. Is there a way export and import all setting as well.

What version of Portal are you using?
If you are using 9.0.4, I don't think its available.

Hi,
I am using Omniportlet to define a variety of portlets from different data sources.
Now, I want to import/export these definitons so that i can replicate the same portlet instances on multiple application servers/deployments.
This is a real-world scenario as we want to deploy these portlets in our portal product and we want reuse the omniportlet definitions on each product that we manufacture.
Is there a way to do it and if yes, how?

Please check the following setting which lets you enable/disable exporting Omniportlets
To enable or disable the migration of OmniPortlet and Web Clipping providers, edit the following variable in the MID_TIER_ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_Portal\applications\portal\portal\WEB-INF\web.xml file:

Error when exporting Page Group containing Omniportlet

I have a Page Group that, among other items, has one omniportlet comprised of a SQL query. I need to export this to a production server. When I attempt to export the Page Group, everything exports without error except the omniportlet. I receive the below error and warning in the log. Can someone please help explain why I am receiving this error and what can I do to correct it? This is our first attempt in exporting a portal.

How to export the result of omniportlet to excel format?

Hi All,
does anybody know that? I just can do that from the report created in "Locally Built Providers" by setting the output format to excel but omniportlet.

hi makson,
there is no default functionality for this operation in omniportlet. what you could try is to use the new HTML layout and embed a java script function that allows you to somehow transform the data into a CSV file and save it/display it in the browser.

Importing OmniPortlet

I was wondering if there is a trick to exporting / importing pages containing OmniPortlets. I have a page that contains an SQL omniportlet that executes a stored procedure . Importing the page to the target portal completes successfully, however the portlet is undefined.
After the initial imports of the content and layout page groups (everything imported successfully except the omniportlet), an additional export/import of only the page containing the portlet was performed to see if the issue would be resolved. Again, the import completed successfully, however the omniportlet was still undefined.
I have seen this issue posted in the forum, however I have not seen any solutions. Source and target portals are version 10.1.4. I welcome any advice that you may have.

Omniportlet deployment

Hi,
Scenario:
I am defining many instances of Omniportlet with different data sources etc. Now, can I export/import these portlets as war/ear files.
In short, I want to deploy the same omniportlets that I defined on one application server into many application servers.

When a portal page is exported/imported, the edit default settings of OmniPortlet are saved along with the page.
At this point it is not supported to save edit default settings to an EAR file.

OmniPortlet -vs- Discoverer

We are currently trying to determine where to use an OmniPortlet or Discoverer solution for our executive management portal and have had the following questions:
1) Is possible to create an OmniPortlet chart listing information using two Y-axis.
2) Does either OmniPortlet or Discoverer allow the ability to specify scales for the X and Y axis also.
3) Can any of the chart colors be selected for the graphs
4) What chart types are available from each product
5) Does either product allow for mouse over Text and linking capabilities based on selections of a pie chart or bar.
I understand that Omniportlet allows for up to three events to occur and allows for 5 parameters to be passed betweent the event and the next portlet, but I'm not sure have fully functional the explode down or up capabilites are of either product.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

No - sub query functionality is not available in the latest release of Discoverer, which is 10.1.2.0.2.
The App Server 10.1.3.0.0 release does not contain Discoverer.
The only three things that Discoverer Plus cannot do that Desktop does are:
1. Sub-queries
2. Save-to-file
3. Import SQL
Plus offers a lot more features that Desktop does not, like Stoplight formatting, Excel Pivot Table export, Formatted Text Area, Cascading Parameter creation, Redesigned Query Wizard, Item Navigator, Analytic Calculations Template, Graph styles, and more.

About Oracle portal Omniportlet XSL relative URL.

Hi,
I use Oracle Portal 10.1.4 (on OAS 10.1.2.0.2) and we have 2 server.
The first is on LAN for testing portals and the second is a pre-production server to give public access to our portals to our clients for final testing purpose.
So the two servers have different hostnames. The first is http://dev-oraportal.ccip.fr (called DEV) and the second is http://rec-oraportal.ccip.fr (called REC)
We create portals page groups on the DEV and then export them on REC for client testing.
Omniportlet is inserted on some of our portal pages to display RSS feeds. So we collect RSS using an absolute URL to the RSS .xml file and we also use an XSLT file to transform the RSS RDF schema to <ROWSET>/<ROW> format understood by Omniportlet.
My problem is that Omniportlet only accept absolute URLs for my XSLT file. I created a protal page within my page group to store this XSLT file and so I'd like to use a relative path in order to keep links valid when I'll export my page group to the REC server.
Today, I have to change the XSLT file URL manualy when the migration is over to replace "dev" by "rec" in the server hostname.
Is there any way to use relative paths for XSLT file in Omniportlet ?
I tryed several ways from using many "../" in path to map to the right XSLT path to using portlet parameters in the XSLT URL field as #Param1#/myPageGroup/XSLTFiles.xslt
But nothing works.
Note that I successfully used parameters in the Omniportlet View tab, but I can't make it work in the source tab.

I know some web pages that use oracle portal (www.tomatoland.com, testdrive.compaq.com) and i think that are very complete....

Omniportlet XML : Param to XSL Filter

Hi,
I have an xml file not in the <rowset><row></row></rowset> format to display in an XML Omniportlet.
I have made a XSL file to transform it.
My portal is in three languages.
I have added a param (<xsl:param name="lang">) to my XSL file.
How can I pass the NLS_LANG to that XSL file ?
I tryed to add a system parameter on the page to the omniportlet containing the NLS_LANGUAGE but it doesn't seems to work.
I tryed to set the XSL URL to : url/file.xsl?lang=##Param1##
How to do it ?

Hello, I have a problem with the same omniPortlet. I have to show data from an xml file exported with excel and I can´t build the filter.xsl correctely... always I get some error.... like
*"Target XML document does not conform to a rowset-row structure."* or
*"Failed to load user defined filter"*
Could anybody Help me??

Adobe Bridge CS6 for mac: export modules, facebook export module gives an error every time i try to sign in

in the export module for facebook every time i click "sign in to facebook" it gives the following error: "An error occurred while request facebook connection"

The export module has been discontinued in Bridge CC and as long as it has been there the option for social media has worked only for FB in a few countries. Due to rights management (as we where told) there where restrictions for most other countries. But if it did work for you in the past you should try click on FB in export module or use the tiny menu icon in the export panel for preferences and try to set up a new connection.

Debugamos a BADI e descobrimos que os dados de importação estão sendo gravado "em branco", gerando o erro de validação no GRC, tal qual dito por você.
Aprimoramos a lógica da BADI para que a tag de importação não seja preenchida indevidamente para as notas de devolução do porto e as notas foram aprovadas.

LR 4 exports to wrong folder, anybody else?

HI, my rig includes Windows 7, Asus P8Z68 Deluxe Gen 3 with i7 2600K, 16GB DDR3 mem, SSD drives, fast Radeon video card.
I'm using Lightroom 4, just upgraded, have this problem: when I export to Folder1> Subfolder 1, it puts the export images in the next up hierarchical folder, i.e. Folder1. I select the folder I want in the Export dialog, and I don't have any subfolders selected or created, but it always sticks the shots in the next folder up the tree, it's happened every time I've exported.

The subfolder is the folder I selected in the dialogue. c.frans w is right. In 2.7 I never had to check and create a subfolder, which is what that box is for, unless I wanted to. Usually I just select the folder I want, but in 4, when I do that, it jumps to the next higher folder.

Auto-generated links exported from InDesign do not work in tablet apps

Hyperlinks automatically detected and exported from InDesign CS6 8.0.1 as a PDF work fine on the desktop version of Acrobat Reader. However, on the iPad version of Adobe Reader as well as iBooks and GoodReader, these links are completely ignored, meaning they are just text.
On the other hand, if I was to manually set the hyperlink in InDesign or Acrobat, the link works fine.
It would be extremely tedious and time consuming to manually reset hundreds of hyperlinks in my documents since InDesign use to handle this correctly.
Is this a bug? If so, it's pretty serious and should be Adobe's priority to fix since millions of people read documents on tablet devices.

No, it's a Feature of Acrobat and reader that they attempt to create links from anything that "looks like" a URL. Other readers lack the feature.
It's not good practice to depend on this in any case as it's hardly foolproof even in Acrobat. Links that break across lines, for example, will not be properly recognized.

Export to Text Options needs

I've writen a program that exports a crystal report into a text file ready for it to be uploaded to an ftp site.
Problem is i'm having trouble getting the text file to look right.
I narrowed it down to the "Lines per page" setting in Crystal XI R2 as when i set it to 0 in crystal when testing the report the text file looks fine.
My question is how to i set this in my application in VB code? Here is the code i have so far:-

Export to excel formatting

I'm working on a quote report which has narrative sections as well as a table. I can get the report to look great in the application but it has formatting problems once exported to excel.
In one of my narrative reports I have a simple table with a few columns. Once exported to excel the first narrative column is the entire width of the report table below it. The large cell row is also merged cells in excel.
Is there anything that can be done to help force how the report goes into excel?
I have also tried creating the report in a narrative html table to export into excel.

Can someone explain if they face similar issues as I am when you export a report output on portal to Excel it takes huge size. I assume it because of all the color formatting etc. but is there a way to reduce this size. 3.5 Bex Analyzer same report takes only 3 MB while if I export it from portals it takes 32 MB.
