OMS not starting up

Hi,
i have installed oemgc in linux platform.while starting up gc from startup the oracle management server is showing status as failed.It was working fine till there was a reboot.All the other services are working.I have the db in the same server where i installed oemgc.
Can anyonehelp?

when i give the startup command for oemgc it is giving an error:
Oracle management server is not functioning because of the following reason:
connection to the repository failed.Verify that the repository connection information provided is correct.
can anyone help

Hi,
I'm running Oracle 8.1.7 on Win2k.
When I try to start the OMS i get the error below, It seems to retry 3 times before I get the windows pop up box telling me the management server could not be started and did not return an error
I've tried to re-install the Oracle server, Enterprise manager and the Oracle java products but still get the error. Has anyone got ideas on how to fix this??

so i patch was rollback,... but ems do not start
EMS do not connected > connect message is "Backend WLS or EM application seems to be down"
backup file not exists...... OMS is reinstall?
have another solution?

installed one-off patch(13346924) ====> oms problem
i env is

12c OMS does not start

when I try to start OMS in cloud server following error occurs.

Looks like Issue with Repository Database.
Please check your repository connection.
Pls try the below steps
--> IN Repository db server,
          srvctl stop database -d <DB_NAME>
          srvctl start database -d <DB_NAME>
          srvctl status database -d <DB_NAME>
                 ---> Make sure its running status.
---> IN OMS server
                         --> emctl stop oms -all
                    kill the existing connection
                                   ps -ef | grep -i emgc
                         --> emctl stop agent
                             --> ps -ef | grep -i java |||||| MAke sure no oms related services are running
      ===> Start the oms
                         --> emctl start oms
==> start the agent
                             --> emctl start agent
PLs let us know how it goes..

Oracle Management Server not starting up. says node manager is down!!!

Hi ALL,
We are trying to startup (OMS) Oracle Management Server but it's not starting up. it tries to connect to the node manager and says failed to connect to Node Manager as the node manager is not running.
OPMN also not running.
I have attached a snapshot so you can see.

I assumethe node manager is not running on Exadata though you have posted in the Exadata forum !
how are you starting it. Are you using the gcstartup script within init.d ?

Hi all,
OracleOraHome92ManagementServer service is not starting automatically, though we have set it to start automatically. We get the following error message when we tried to start manually.
"Could not start the OracleOraHome92ManagementServer service on Local computer.
The service did not return an error. This could be an internal winodws error or an internal service error."
If we restart the entire server , then OracleOraHome92ManagementServer service is getting started automatically.
Kindly assist me in resolving the issue.

If you check internet most times it is about adding the ip address and hostname (+ FQDN ) in C:\WINNT\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts file. Do you have that in your hosts file?

Oracle Management Server Not starting

Hi all,
I created the OMS server, but it is not getting started. I am on Linux Fedora2 with Oracle 9iR2. When I give
oemctl start oms
it says that OMS startup timed out.
Please do help

I assumethe node manager is not running on Exadata though you have posted in the Exadata forum !
how are you starting it. Are you using the gcstartup script within init.d ?

I am using Oracle 8.1.6 on win 2k. The oracle management service is not starting and when i try to start it manually then the error i m getting is

Set the services to manual and try to rebounce your system so you can make sure there are no attempts to start the service from the OS Services.

In order for the oms to start the database repository must have started. You are supposed to have enough privileges to perform this task. Make sure the repository database is up and running, and then attempt to start the OMS service.

Error 1053 Could not start OracleServiceEMREP on local Computer

I have recently installed patch 3731593 for upgrading grid control from 10.2.0.4 to 10.2.0.5. Patch got installed successfully. But after applying patch, my windows service for repository is not getting started. I am getting following error "Could not start OracleServiceEMREP on local Computer. Error 1053. The service does not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
Also when I gave command OMS_HOME>emctl start oms.I noticed following error.
Oracle Management Server is not functioning because of the following reason:
Connection to the repository failed. Verify that the repository connection infor
mation provided is correct.
As per my understanding, this error is due to Error 1053.
How can I solve this error.

Try to start the database wiith command line and check
.sqlplus "/as sysdba"
startup

Could Not start Enterprise Management Server Service

Hi,
I have installed Oracle 8i Personal Edition 8.1.6.00 on a Win2000
machine at home.
I can connect to the database that i have created (oracleDB)
When i try and run Enterprise Manager and connect to the
database, i get
the error
"ORA- 12541: TNS: no listener"
Im guessing this is because i do not have the
'OracleOraHome81ManagementServer' service running (???)
When i try and start it from the Services MMC, i recieve the
error
"Could not start the OracleOraHome81ManagementServer servic on
Local
Computer
Error 997: Overlapped I/O operation in progress"
Can anyone help me out with this?
All other Oracle related services run fine.
I have admin privelages for the PC.
Have PATH for oracle set up correctly i think.
Any help would be much appreciated

Try creating a repository via the Configuration Assistant first
Martin, and then start the OMS service. It worked for me.

OEM 12c Web Tier and OMS to start manually

Hi, when I look at the boot log I see the WebTier and OMS starting automatically. Is there a setting I can change so they would not start during the boot.
I'd like to have in them in the manual startup mode. Thanks.

Thanks. I was thinking about some emctl setting that would put the oms and agent into manual mode but your suggestion would also work.
Unfortunately, when looking at the gcstartup file I see a standing out line that I could comment out to prevent automatic startup.

Per my understanding that you can't get the expect result by using the expression "=Count(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4) " to count the the TICKET_STATUS which value is 4, the result will returns the count of all the TICKET_STATUS values(206)
but not 180, right?
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, the issue caused by you are using the count() function in the incorrect way, please modify the expression as below and have a test:
=COUNT(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4 ,1,Nothing))
or
=SUM(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS=4,1,0))

Please provide more details like: Server OS, Java version, and what type of database you are using for the FM Server. Have you considered using a newer version of FM Server?
