On button twice??? Powering ON delayed...

I have noticed that when my MBP is off, I have to hit the on button twice...the first time never does anything - the 2nd time it turns on w/ no problem. I am positive I am hitting it all the way b/c I have recently become overly aware of the problem. Any suggestions??? Thanks...

Me too. Same thing. I must hit the power button a second time. It took me a while to be sure I wasn't mistaken. I have discovered this thread after a search for this specific problem. Why? My only guess was the hard drive lock or whatever it is called. A new feature my Powerbook didn't have to protect against sudden movement. One push to unlock, next to start. No that doesn't make sense does it?

Pressing the Home button twice does not show you what apps are running. It shows you what apps were recently used.
Download a free app from the App Store. Once it downloads, your other apps should work properly again.

You can turn that feature off in Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Contacts>Show in App Switcher>Recents>Off.

I've two iPod Nanos (4th gen - 8GB). I'm facing a severe problem with both of them. For both iPods, I tried to do this method Simultaneously press the top button + home (central) button. But of no use.
1. My first iPod is showing a white screen. I could not see anything. But I can listen to songs by blindly pressing the play button twice. The battery comes only for an hour.? How do I get the display and longer battery?
2. My second iPod is facing more severe problem. None of the buttons are working. When I connect it my PC it showing "CONNECTED- eject before disconnecting". But it is not ejecting with all the usual methods. When I manually and physically disconnect it from the PC the same "CONNECTED- eject before disconnecting" is still showing till the battery goes off. After that if i press any button it is showing low battery signal. And when i re-connect it to the PC the same process is repeating. When I tied to restore it to the factory settings I'm getting "Error" report.
(I'm using windows 7)

Sounds like some hardware issues, meaning you'll want to take or send the iPods in for service or repairs. You can choose to have Apple do an out of warranty exchange for the prices indicated in the link below or find another third party service perhaps even local to your area.

The procedure is Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>Add another email address. The email address has to be a valid working email address, obviously. Apple should verify the email address and you have to go to the inbox of that email account, read the verification email from Apple and follow the inductions in the email in order to complete the verification. Then you go back to the settings, uncheck your email address and check the new email address to be used as the contact email address.

I am trying to mirror my iPad 2 with my Apple TV . I hit the home button twice, scrolled through the app icons but still do not see the air play icon? I did check to confirm that both devices are on the same network.

Yes they are both on the same network and I enabled air play on the TV. I finally located the icon on my iPad last night and succeeded in mirroring. It seems the instructions from apple were confusing me. They said tap the home button twice and then scroll to the right. The icon however is on the left side of the screen and shows as what I would call a button as opposed to an icon, located among the buttons of a mini player. Anyway, found it last night and now am enjoying the mirroring feature. Thanks for all the help.

Need to click the back button twice

I'm having problems with a program. I have ALV grid and double clicking on a line calls a function that displays a detailed entry screen (dynpro).
In that screen the user can use the data to call a function module to create BP from the given data.
I now want to enable my users to go back to the ALV grid by clicking the Back button and when the function code is 'BACK' I do:
leave to screen 0.
But the user must press the back button twice before he can go back. If the user however just enters the detailed screen and presses the back button it works fine.

I had a similar problems few days ago. If the user must click back button twice in some cases it is because 2 screens are being created.
What happens to me is that I had a Modul-pool, in this program I had 2 dynpros, one for input and the other to call in it the function-module REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY in order to show an ALV. When the ALV was shown the user should press back button twice in order to return to the first screen. This behaviour is because the ALV is shown in its own screen, so finally I had 3 screens instead of 2.
What I did to solve the problem was to delete the dynpro which only purpose was to show the ALV. At last I had a dynpro for the input of the program, in the PAI of this dynpro I invoke REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY which shows the ALV in its own screen.

To open Front Row, why do you have to hit the menu button twice?

I notice that when I first restart my computer and want to access front row via the apple remote, I have to hit the menu button twice to activate it. Does anybody know why this is?

Not sure, but I don't think FrontRow is set to run when you start the computer. When you click the menu button it'll start up the program - this will take a little time.
Just a though, but maybe you're not giving it long enough after the first button click to start up and enter FrontRow? Since I rarely reboot my Mac (just put it to sleep) I haven't experienced your problem.

Pressing escape button twice clearing the form

I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6 and noticed below issue only with IE browser
- Developed a .jsff page fragment, created a taskflow and dragged taskflow onto the .jspx
- Launched the form , and entered some attributes, by pressing twice 'Escape' button twice, clears the form
Does any one have idea why form get's cleared by pressing twice button ? Appreciate your timely response

The field values are getting clearing while swapping between the tabs.
However, when i am hitting the button(first tab) "Get department Info" in the first tab the report is generated with the details..
when i am going back to second tab and after comming back to the first tab, still i could see the report. i dont want the report to be visible when swapping between any tabs..

Usually I am able to play music from my lock screen by pressing the home button twice but now it won't come up with any thing when I do that. Wat do I do?

Have to double-tap home button TWICE to bring up iPod Control on 3.1.2 ?

I noticed it takes more time for the iphone to wake up after I press the home button on 3.1.2 . Usually it's instant, now it takes roughly 1.5 second now. And I have to double-tap the home button twice (four times total)when I need the iPod Control(<<,>,>>), the phone doesn't respond to the first double-tap. It only wakes the screen up,then I have to do it again. This is so frustrating especially when I need to switch songs.
BTW, this happens everytime when the phone is asleep for more than 20 seconds. If I double-tap when the phone has just been put to sleep (<20 seconds), the iPod Control comes up normal.
And it's normal when it's connected to a PC, the screen wakes instantly.
Anyone had this issue ?

Have to hit source playback button twice, Why?

Is it just me? For months, in order to playback a source clip, I have to click the play button twice. The first click would only play one frame or so. This is something I have been tolerating for quite a while and never had time to investigate until now. Anyone else with this issue? Any solutions?

Trash your prefs. Fixes all kinds of strange behavior.
Use this handy application....just open it and click TRASH, then launch FCP again.

Hitting the home button twice!

When I hit the home button twice the bottom row lights up. When I hold down on any of the icons the delete mode pops up. When I hit delete it deletes the icon(s) then i hit the home button to go back to the home screen the icon is still there. Im not actually trying to delete the icon, someone told me by doing this it turnes off that icon or something! Can anyone explain what this does?

That action just tells the OS to "close" the application. Normally iOS handles this automatically as it needs memory, but you can force them to close manually with that action. I routinely do this to reduce background cellular & GPS usage, but for the most part I allow iOS to manage these recently used applications as it sees fit.
To remove an application touch and hold its icon on the home screen until it starts to "jiggle", at that point all installed applications will have an X in a circle in their upper left hand corner. Touching that X on any app will remove it from the device.
