On click of any tab in First level navigation next tab getting highlighted

First level navigation in Custom resource provider WAP

Hi,
we have created a custom resource provider in WAP,im able to display the grid in the tab which is displayed
when custom resource provider is clicked.
How can we achieve the first level navigation on clicking on any item in the grid and after navigating need to display subtabs
and display usagebars in each tab.
The live example for the above scenario is "Virtual Machines" resource provider in public azure portal.
how can we achieve similar functionality in our custom resource provider??

thanks for your solution...im able to implement first level navigation successfully.
But Im facing one issue .PFB the details
the subnav tab template is as below:

so first time when I on the navigation click on the Parent Tab it navigates to the subtab and displays the data as expected,now when I click on back button some part of the template in the subtab is getting displayed along with the parent tab grid data(on
top of the parent Tab grid).
ie in this case if I navigate back to parfent tab from subtab the headers mentioned in the above template were also getting added in parent Tab as shown in the below order.
Usage overview
attached devices
parent tab grid
this should not happen as I don't have the headers in parent tab template.
I tried adding the below code in cleanup function of subtab

i require the help on the first level navigation par file customization.
i downloaded the rthe required par file from the server for changes.
the name of the par file is <b>com.sap.portal.navigation.toplevelsingle.</b>.
my requirement on this par file is i want to add an image file (.gif) to the first level navigaton at the end of the header.
can u guide me how to do the chages to add an image in the top level navigation
header file for this in the par file.

Hi Sunil,
Do you really want to place the image at the right side of the TLN - or at the header (which is different)?
In the first case, there is a mixture of JavaScript and JSPs (containing JS) which build up the TLN, and this is quite complicated to understand (at least too complicate for a SDN thread). You would have to work through the code and try to modify it carefully.
In the secondd case, you are touching the wrong PAR, but you would know the right one (as you opened a different thread about such a modification).
Alternatively, you could try to use the light framework page, using the navigation tag library. This way, it is more easy to design your own UI, including the nav functionality.

im currious, as the First-Level-Navigation is determined by the assigned roles of a user, how can you set the overall order of the menu entries, considering a user got more roles assigned?

Hi Markus,
that is done via the property Priority, which can be between 0.0 (outmost left) and 100.0 (outmost right)
If several roles have the same Priority, they will be ordered by Role ID or Role Name.

Cant click on any tab or any place, its just freeze. and even cant close the window.. i must restart to close mozilla

Firefox may become very slow to respond because of badly coded JavaScript causing infinite loops on certain websites [28]. This problem can usually be cleared by closing the window or tab for that website. You can also temporarily disable JavaScript to view the problem site, but the website may not work without JavaScript. Read Firefox CPU usage for more information and also see the related article,Unresponsive Script Warning.
If the web site hangs Firefox (you can't even exit Firefox) try running in Safe Mode and see if you can get an Unresponsive Script Warning. Watch the status bar and see if this frequently occurs while it mentions a specific URL. If so, try blocking that URL using a content-blocker such as Adblock Plus. The problem URL may be fetching an advertisement or side panel that you can do without.
If none of this helps, try using a different browser (such as IE or Opera) or try accessing the site at another time. This might help you determine if the problem lies with Firefox, a poorly designed website, or content that changes over time, such as ads.

Open iView without changing anything in first level navigation?

hi,
I am having a problem in the portal. I have a support message that I want to have opened in opur portal without it changing the navigation focus.
The support message is located in first level and consists of a folder(entry point)->page->iView.
Now if I am located in another first level or second level item I want to be able to press support message and this should open the iView in a new window BUT the focus should still be on where I was "standing" before in the navigation.
Can this be done? So we open a iview in a new window but the background navigation is not impacted?

Hi Jesper,
If I am not wrong then your requirement is, you have two roles. One role has functionality of support message and second role is some application.
So once you are on second role and if you click on first role then the focus of second role should not change.
--- In TLN if you click on any of the role then definitely the focus is going to change. If its support message application then you can use the frameworkpage to load the message.
This way everytime user will be able to access this message.
--- Second way of acheving this is create KM Link and prvide the Navigation target link of the support role, this will open in a new window without affecting your current navigation.
Please let me know if you need more clarification on any of the approach.

Firefox offers to save my tabs when I close it, but when I reopen it they are all blank pages and I cannot click on any except the one already displayed, though I can highlight and close the others..

I have looked at various help topics but nothing is working; I have not deleted my history lately and nothing in my preferences is checked to do so automatically. I also tried deleting 'sessionstore.js' but that didn't help either. Firefox acknowledges that there are other tabs open by making them pop a little when my mouse goes over them, and as I said I can still close tabs that are not currently displayed, but I cannot click on them to bring them up.

Firefox 4 Beta (v9,10&11) opens on my PC (Win 7) and creates tabs but only the close button works I cannot click on any tabs or content in the "active" tab?

It looks like Firefox has started ok, all the tabs are populated, but nothing can be accessed by clicking except the Close button and the right hand scroll bar... it is frustrating. Firefox 3 works fine still.

I cannot click on any links the first 1/4 of the page in Firefox, after a certain area then I am able to click on hyperlinks.

Firefox has been working great, until I booted this morning. The first part of the page below the toolbar, about 1/4, if there are any search fields or hyperlinks I am unable to select those. After a certain point. only then am I able to make selections,chat, or anything else that requires a selection. All other browsers work fine.

Both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

Data Editor - clicking on Data tab - gets error

Hi all.
I don't think this has anything to do with 30EA2, but I when I click on a table in the schema browser to display columns, data, constraints, triggers, etc..., all the tabs work ok, except I am getting an error on the data tab. I get the following in the data editor log pane at the bottom.
ORA-01785: ORDER BY item must be the number of a SELECT-list expression.
Granted, we just had a change to that table where we dropped some columns and I don't remember if I had any filters on the table that might be saved somewhere prior to the change. However, I don't think any of the columns we dropped I had done anything special with. Anyway, is something saved somewhere that would now prevent the displaying of the data in the data editor. It must be something on my machine because other developers here do not have the issue.

Hi,
The error given is referring to ORDER BY clause.
Therefore on the Data tab, have you checked by clicking the Sort... button (next to Filter) to make sure there is no Sort-ing defined on that table?
Sometimes SQL Dev keeps the Sort / Filter which user has put on, and ever since the column has been dropped, the Sort / Filter may not be changed until we do so.

This is presumably because you are running an earlier system than Lion. (Please always post your system when you have a question.)
The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.

Top Level Navigation Problem

recently, I ran into something really strange. The Top Level Navigation (TLN) became faulty. If the user clicks on certain entries in First Level Navigation or Second Level Navigation the content area is not loaded properly. The content area stays empty as well as the detailed navigation iView (no navigation entries listed). Furthermore, the TLN does not get updated.
The weird thing is it only affects a few users and the set of affected navigation tabs is different for every user. The problem affects standard tabs (System Administration, Content Administration, etc.) as well as custom tabs. The set of affected users and the set of affected tabs seems to be arbitrary chosen.
A new log entry is written every time the problem occurs. Find an example below:

While searching SDN I found a SAP Note that might be interesting. SAP Note 982496 contains the description of a similar problem with almost the same error message. However, this SAP Note describes a problem of NW 2004 SPS 17. A problem that should be solved in newer releases. We patched our system last time (NW2004s SPS 09) a few month ago. We never had any similar problems until last week when the above described problems started.
Unfortunately, the problem starts to escalate. More and more users and more and more navigation tabs are affected.
Does anyone of you have any experience with this kind of problems? Please suggest how to troubleshoot and solve this very annoying problem. Of course, I am going to reward helpful answers.

1) Clearing the browser cache did not help at all.
2) We disabled the navigation cache a long time ago. That means navigation is not cached.
3) We are going to restart the portal server today. I keep you updated.

Firefox won't let me click on a tab to open a new blank tab

Whenever i click on the last tab to open a new empty blank tab nothing happens. i downloaded the new firefox that didnt help restarted that didnt help.

Can't you use the [+] button on the Tab bar to open a new Tab? <br />
Right-click on any Tab and select New Tab? <br />
Or, you can double-click on a blank spot on the Tab bar, if you don't have many Tabs open.
If something has changed recently and you lost a feature that you once had, you need to do a little troubleshooting. <br />
