On compilation in J2ME WTK, Midlet code generates clone() method

I did try to compile a MIDlet which creates a user defined object in J2ME WTK. The compiled code has Object.clone() method invocation. However clone() method is not available in J2ME CLDC API. So the code results in java.lang.NoSuchMethodError and subsequently the emulator crashes. Any idea how to compile the MIDlet so that clone() method is not put in the compiled code ?
regards,
Ashwath

I did include few J2SE classes, which contained clone() method. I removed them, now problem solved.

  • Code generated by JIT compiler

    Hi,
    I'm doing some research about Java and C performance on different platforms. My question: is it possible to access the code that is generated by JIT compiler. Without knowing what exactly JIT compiler does, only the statistical analysis (performance measurements) can be made...
    Thank you in advance!
    Vytautas Dusevicius,
    M.Sc student in Aalborg University, Denmark

    is it possible to access the code that is generated by JIT compiler.Considering that there is no "JIT compiler" any more, no. HotSpot generates fragments of native code at the basic block (or even finer) level within routines. I don't know if there's a dumper that can dump out the code sequences chosen.
    Oh, you can try downloading the SCSL (Sun Community Source License) JDK sources, and reading the HotSpot source files..

  • How do I edit the file created by code generator?

    hi all,
    I want to modify a java file that is generated when you create the webdynpro, but I can not change.
    // This file has been generated partially by the Web Dynpro Code Generator.
    // MODIFY CODE ONLY IN SECTIONS ENCLOSED BY @@begin AND @@end.
    // ALL OTHER CHANGES WILL BE LOST IF THE FILE IS REGENERATED.
    how can I disable the file to modify
    thanks!

    Hi Pablo.
    There's no way to modify it, NW2004s and its IDE has a code compilation based in some internal scripts based on eclipse plugin architecture.
    In your code you must consider this.
    1 - Try to find in your declared methods, importing directives, packages declarations  some like this:
    // This file has been generated partially by the Web Dynpro Code Generator.
    // MODIFY CODE ONLY IN SECTIONS ENCLOSED BY @@begin AND @@end.
    // ALL OTHER CHANGES WILL BE LOST IF THE FILE IS REGENERATED.
    package com.sap.teste;
    // IMPORTANT NOTE:
    // ALL IMPORT STATEMENTS MUST BE PLACED IN THE FOLLOWING SECTION ENCLOSED
    // BY @@begin imports AND @@end. FURTHERMORE, THIS SECTION MUST ALWAYS CONTAIN
    // AT LEAST ONE IMPORT STATEMENT (E.G. THAT FOR IPrivateTesteApp).
    // OTHERWISE, USING THE ECLIPSE FUNCTION "Organize Imports" FOLLOWED BY
    // A WEB DYNPRO CODE GENERATION (E.G. PROJECT BUILD) WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS
    // OF IMPORT STATEMENTS.
    //@@begin imports
    import com.sap.teste.wdp.IPrivateTesteApp;
    import com.sap.myimport.MyClass;
    //@@end
    //@@begin
    //@@end
    it means that between begin and end...you can add what you want..and the code will not be removed after class compilation....
      //@@begin javadoc:wdDoExit()
      /** Hook method called to clean up controller. */
      //@@end
      public void wdDoExit()
        //@@begin wdDoExit()
        //@@end
    int this case too....if you implement something between //@@begin and //@@end in the method scope...all part of your code will be surely safe.

  • HELP!! Nokia's API classes not found with j2me WTK

    I setup j2me WTK, jdk1.4.2 and also Nokia's SDK (Series_60_MIDP_SDK_for_Symbian_OS_v_1_2_1) on my Win NT 4.0 machine.
    J2ME samples (shipped with it) are working fine with ktoolbar. but when i try to build & run nokia samples, they are always giving error "FullCanvas class not found" and "package com.nokia.lcd.ui.* not found". I am sure it is the problem of placement of classes of nokia at correct place inside j2me's WTK. However, i followed the guidelines to install symbian sdk inside wtk401\wtklib\devices folder (as per instructions of forum nokia). But i am still not able to get it running. Any expert suggestions, then plz respond me , i am in urgent need to solve this issue!!!! plz help me!!!!

    Hi,
    Maybe I'm being thick but I can't get this work. I've tried zipping the com/nokia stuff into the midpapi.zip. And I've tried just replacing midapi.zip with classes.zip from the nokia emulator. But it still says:
    "package nokia.mid.ui does not exist
    import nokia.mid.ui.*;"
    I'm using ktoolbar 1.04.
    Many thanks!
    CP
    Hey, thanks for the great tip. Was also using
    KToolbar because it runs faster on my slow laptop than
    Sun One studio.
    With the later version of WTK, the paths
    C:\...\WTK21\lib contains 2 files, midpapi20.zip and
    midpapi10.zip
    The later contains classes for compiling to MIDP1.0
    standard. I think most people use this. Replace it
    the class.zip in
    C:\Nokia\Devices\Nokia_7210_MIDP_SDK_v1_0\lib if
    you're using the same SDK as I am, and don't forget to
    rename it.
    Cheers.

  • The code generated by EJBC in Weblogic 5.1 is wrong!

    I had this code running in Weblogic 4.5.1 and converted it to EJB 1.1

    (AccountBean), which built fine (it is clear why your example did not
    have the problem mine did- the primary key is java.lang.String). After
    that, I tried to build my container managed bean, but without success.
    Here is a description of my problem:
    After trying to compile my simple container-managed program using EJBC
    in Weblogic 5.1, I get the following error:
    ProductLicenseBeanEOImpl.java:56: Incompatible type for =. Can't convert
    int to java.lang.Integer
    pk = bean.productLicenseId;
    ProductLicenseBeanEOImpl.java is a class that was generated by EJBC. It

    java.lang.Integer), which is wrong! The source code generated by EJBC is

    Do you have a bug fix for this, or is there something I'm just not

    I should be able to use a java.lang.Integer as a primary key.

    I had the same problem. I had used the deployer tool and had specified a
    primary key class AND a primary key field "ID".
    This had put an extra tag in the ejb-jar.xml file <persistence field> which
    I hadn't seen before.
    Changing the primary key field to "none" fixed caused other problems to show
    up in the deployer tool (finders). I had to redo the
    deployer project from scratch, this time keeping the primary key field to
    "none" and it worked.

  • Program LPC2378 with code generated by LabView ARM embedded, without using LabView

    I would like to use the C files that are originally generated in LabVIEW ARM embedded module, and use Keil software (or other lower cost) to load these files into custom boards with LPC2378 controller without LabView.  Are there detailed instuctions for this?  I am using version 8.6 and the ARM embedded module is 1.1.
    My reason for this task is boards are being made in a maufacturing facility oversees, and they need to be programmed at their end.
    I read a forum describing the use of  hex files, but not enough detail for me to figure this out.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Bob,
    What you're looking to do should be possible. You'll just need to build the application in LabVIEW, then you should be able to use the uVisions command line to deploy the system. As for the C code itself, it gets generated when you build your build specification and you should see it placed in the same directory as your labview project in a folder named the name of your project. For example, if your project were called My ARM Project, you'll see a folder called "My ARM Project" created/updated whenever you build the build specification in that project and it will contain the C Code. To see the code organized logically, after building your build specification, right-click on the ARM target and select "Show Keil uVision". This will open a uVision window in "LabVIEW mode" and you'll be able to see all of the C files associated with you application; your VI specific code will be under a folder titled "VIs". You could also just open the C code files from disk in uVision, which is what you'll need to do if LabVIEW isn't installed. The main LabVIEW project can be found in the built directory described above as the LabVIEW.uvproj file in the "target"/Application/"uvision version"/Project directory. For example my main file was built in MyProject\EK_LM3S8962\Application\4.01\Project. From there, you'll need to follow uVision's process for compiling and deploying the target code from their command line:

    Hope this helps!

    Does anybody know which compiler genrates the most efficient code? Jikes or javac? Or are there others more powerfull? If anybody has any information please submit a link to some benchmark test. I have tried both compilers, and I think that Jikes is compiling clearly faster, but does that mean that it is sloppy or doesn't it mean anything.

    It's not so much the comiler but rather the jvm that is responsible for speed issues.
    Of course if the compiler generates crappy bytecodes it doesn't help. But finally the jvm does the optimizing and running...

    Hi Monica,
                 as bhaskar said no need to worry about warnings.
    warnings will not lead to dump. only runtime errors will lead to dump.
    if the system is unicode, remediate the objects without errors.
    we can observe mainly,
    open dataset, structure incompatibilty, offset, in byte or char mode etc

  • Code generate report in excel format from portal(Application Server)

    Hi all
    Please give some solution with code generate report in excel format from
    oracle portal(Application Server).

    Not feasible.
    Why? Because "the Excel format" is a binary and proprietary Microsoft file format. And writing a generator to generate Excel files will be complex, and resource expensive. In the vast majority of cases this will not be justified.
    As an alternative the very basic Microsoft XML office format can be used. But note that this is not a a ISO standard (it has been shot down in flames) - and effort and resources for that would be better spend on the Open Document XML standard (which very likely will be ratified as the ISO standard instead).
    Of course, you could have meant a CSV file - in which case, you need to play close attention to details. CSV is not an Excel format. A software designers and developers, our success is determined by attention to technical detail. In which case you are not paying any attention to technical detail by confusing CSV with Excel.

  • Fpga HDL code generator

        Hello,
    It seems that FPGA module cannot interface custom FPGA board.
    I wonder if FPGA can be used as a HDL code generator.
    Here is what I'd like to do :
    - code an algorithm in a LabVIEW block diagram
    - make a HDL from the BG with FPGA module
    - build the HDL code in my FPGA IDE (Quartus II, in this case)
    - download it in my FPGA target with the JTAG probe
    - use RS232 (or any VISA interface) to communicate the results to another LabVIEW vi
    The main question is : can LabVIEW FPGA module generate HDL code ?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    The LabVIEW FPGA module generates *.vhd files, located in the directory C:\NIFPGA80\clntTmp\[projectDir]\ (if you use LabVIEW 8.0); those files are then sent to Xilinx tools to generate the FPGA bitfile. LabVIEW FPGA module is not designed for non-NI products, this is why those intermediate files are encrypted.
    Cordially,

  • OWB Code generator - does not generate consistent code in every deployment

    Hi,
    I have a mapping to load dimension WM_USERS_ADVISORS_DIM.
    Every time I generate the code for this mapping code generated is different than previous. Hence the query optimization applied at database level does not work.
    following are 2 different queries generated for the same mapping.
    Also, In target load order for this dimension, automatically values are populated like USERS_ADVISORS_STG, where as I have not declared this table/dim.
    I am unable to remove this from load order. Every time code gets generated these _STG is added to each level in Dimension.
    Please suggest how to have a consistent ETL generated every single time ETL deploys?

    Hello,
    These wrappers were separated into different templates.  What you would need to do is to run the templates that you need. You can find these templates in the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MATRIXx\mx_71.4\case\ACC\templates folder.
    Hope this helps.

  • Compiling jdk 1.1.7 code to run in 1.4.2

    I am new to Java & have inherited an old IBM Websphere 3.02 system which runs JDK 1.1.7. We need to move this to Websphere v5 or v6 which also involves a move to JDK 1.4.2.
    From reading various forums it appears that java is not necessarily upwardly compatible. Given this I am looking for opinions on the following.
    What is the likelihood of being able to compile the 1.1.7 code without any changes to run in 1.4.2?
    Any help is much appreciated.

    If I'm not mistaken, backward compatible would mean you could take 1.5 code,
    compile it with a 1.1 compiler and run it on a 1.1 JVM, this definition Java is not
    backward compatibleyes..i learned this when i compiled my program with 1.5. it turned out that how the byte code is stored has changed. i would get error message indicating this.
    compile using 1.4 and run it with a JRE 1.5 will be ok.
