On Demand Tiling and Pixelating

For about the past two weeks anything I watch On Demand will tile and pixelate. The sound also skips. This has happened before but it has never lasted this long. How can this be fixed?
Thanks!
Caroline

Does it happen on multiple boxes? Have you checked all the coax connections (start at the ont and work your way out)?

• Tiling and collision methods for this app

I plan on making a game where the player travels down though a level. I have created basic player/objects collision games using AS2 & Mclips for browser/PC and some basic AS3 apps also, but I want to focus on making this one to run well/fast on iOS and Android via flash/AIR.
The goal will be for the player to avoid colliding with rock/tiles. There will not be too many enemies to track but a few powerups may be on the rock edges to pickup.
Can someone give me any suggestions/links for current Tiling and Collision methods for this environment? Should I use starling?

Thanks Glad, I hear that a pixel perfect collision method like bitmapdata hittest can be a tremendous overhead in CPU time, but I guess I will have to try it and see.

• HELP!!??? Trouble with PS CS-6 displaying/ producing grainy and pixelated images after being imported using PS Bridge and Camera-Raw 8.5

Help!??? I am having trouble with PS CS-6 displaying/ producing/ saving grainy pictures when import NEF files!!!
Hi all,
When I import all NEF or RAW files into CS6 from Bridge and Camera Raw from the Nikon D200 and D5000, they become grainy/ pixelated. However, RAW files from the D800 did not have problem. I set the Color Space in my Nikons to AdobeRGB, in PS Camera Raw 8.5 to AdobeRGB, in PS CS-6 ColorSpace to AdobeRGB, and Save As Jpeg with Max quality (12). When comparing between CS-6 produced file and the original, I can see a big drop in quality and the picture become grainy and pixelated. What can I do to make this right? Any help/ suggestion is appreciated.
Thank you!
HN

Can you show us a screen-shot of the raw in Camera Raw that shows this noise, or if you only see it in the saved JPG, then show us a side-by-side of the raw in Camera Raw and the JPG? Show the same area of the photo and zoom to 100%.
It is normal for raw photos to have grain but you can mostly remove it with the Luminance Noise-Reduction sliders in the Detail tab of Camera Raw.
The amount of grain depends on the ISO sensitivity setting on the camera.

• My ipad screen is shimmering green and pixelated. What's happening

My ipad screen is shimmering and pixelated. I've tried restarting and restoring from backup. Everything still seems to work, but the screen looks shimmery and pixelated. How do I fix this?

I have an old iPad 3 that has taken a beating, and the screen occasionally shifts colors (blue, green, or red). It would look about like this:
http://ipadhelp.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/ipad-screen-colour-problem-620x40 0.jpg
This is going to sound dumb, but this always fixes it for me:
Lay the ipad flat on your lap, open your hand, and with fingers spread, gently but firmly smack the screen of the iPad. I sometimes have to do it 3-5 times (mostly because I'm afraid to hit it too hard!), but it consistently resolves the problem for me.

• Handling Planned order created from Demand planning and Sales order in MTO

Hi all
In MTO\ Repetitive we genrate Dependent requirement from demand planning (PIR) after running MRP which finally planned order created but on the other hand in short term we have Sales order which generate planned order after running MRP(In MTO), How we should handle planned order generated from Demand planning and the ones generated from sales order.(both after MRP Running).
Regards
Babak Bolourchi

Dear,
You can combine the planning strategy also main as 56 and second as 65 and in demand managment MD61 you have the option select requirement type.
Then while creating sales order use MTO strategy and take MRP run through MD50 and then MD02.
and if you want to assign the stock to sales order then you and do it through MB1b with 412 E movement type.
As per my knowledge, generally 56 strategy only takes Sales Order Stock into consideration.
Consider setting the Individual/Collective indicator to 2.
Mark those characteristics that should have a usage probability in demand management as Relevant for planning.
Hope clear to you.

• SAP ERP - Demand Planning and Forecasting

Dear all,
my customer is a wholesale company. They want to use a component in SAP ERP (not SAP APO), in order to make demanding planning and forecasting for the materials , quantities and dates they should make the purchases in order to cover the demand of their customers. What is the component that should be used in order to achieve this?

MRP can be used without production planning. SOP and Demand Management are not Production.
Nevetheless, if you want a simpler planning cycle, provided that you understand its ads and cons, you could go for Consumption Based Planning MRP.

• After rendering the video is blurry and pixelated.

I have 70 + hours invested in this edit. I recently rendered it for the first time and it became blurry and pixellated. I published it to see if it would come out clear but it did not. I found the tab for deteting rendered files and this seemed to help a little. I published that one and it was a little less blurry but still poor quality. How can I get the video back to the pre-render quality. I am using Powerpoint slides saved as jpegs. I did this in another video and the finished video was super clear, however, now after I rendered this one I am unable to get that same quality.

You need to supply more details than you have in order to get to the core of the issue.
What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running? What do your computer resources look like, installed and available RAM, total and free hard drive space, location and free space for the Scratch Disks?
What are the properties of the source media that you are putting on the Timeline?
Based on the properties of your source media, what is the project preset that you or the program are setting in the new project dialog?
Video (video audio compression, frame size, frame rate, interlaced or progressive, file extension, duration, PAL vs NTSC, camera source, etc.)
Photos (how many, what format, what pixel dimensions)
What is your export choice and settings?

• When exporting to Quicktime, areas in shadows are grainy and pixelated

Shot short film on Canon HD (AH A1) 16:9 24fps. Looks great in the editor, however I cannot seem to figure out the settings to export to Quicktime so that I have a nice clear picture when blown up to large format (50" plasma and larger format, i.e. movie theater screen)
Anything in a shadow looks grainy and pixelated when exported.
I need help with my size, codec, data rate, frame rate etc. If anyone has the magic combination please let me know. I am on a deadline. Thanks!

Hello Nick Holmes,
thanks for the reply.
I deleted all the rendering files (using Rendering Manager) from the sequence and I rerender it again using ALT+R.
Nothing has changed. Corrupted pixels are still there.
So I created a new HDV 1080/50i Sequence in which I put only one HDV clip imported from the camera by FCPX.
I exported that in 4 different ways:
QT Reference Movie – Corrupted pixels;
QT Movie Self-Contained – The same corrupted pixels as above;
QT Movie Self-Cont + Recompress All Frames – No corrupted pixels;
QT Conversion to Apple Pro Res 422 – No corrupted pixels but different colors (due to Single Field).
The clip I put in the Test Sequence has not need to be rendered: I can edit and play it natively.
I also tried to export a part of the original sequence I'm working on.
That's odd: parts that needed to be rendered (text) are great, HDV footage has still that issue.
I don't seriously understand. Should I transcode my HDV footage to Apple Pro Res 422 and always use that codec in my future HDV workflows?
Thanks in advance.
Alessandro.

• Upgrade causes graphic distortion and pixelation.?

Hello
After doing the 10.0.1 upgrade my footage is discoloured and pixelated (not subtle, blue sky is black, blue water is pixelated red black yellow....mess). Has anybody had similar experiences. The footage looks fine in the event browser and in the timeline, but once the mouse is placed over a clip in the events browser, at that position the image/graphics becomes horribly pixelated an discoloured. Also though the timeline thumbnails look fine, once play is engaged the viewer shows this very same pixelated colour distortion. I have only 'converted' one short project (almost finished...maybe not) to the new 10.0.1 format but as a test I also tried unused footage in a new project with the same results. Not so much of an upgrade it seems. Being a smart whipper snapper i held on to the original FCPX , which may or may not be a good thing.
Any assistance would be very helpful and save me a whole whack of work, and deep pondering.
Regards

Hello again
Just a quick note to say that though the footage is a mess with colour distortion and pixelation abounding, upon export the footage returns to it's original state. This does not help with regards to the editing process, but at least the footage is ok.

Negative. The project is a touch heavy on effects, transitions and the such, but even disengaging the effects does little to resolve what looks like corrupted artifacting.

• Magnetic lasso problems and pixels

When using the magnetic lasso and when I create circle around figure, it goes back to lasso and does not go around whole figure for me to move. Also every time I lasso something, the little ants are around it, but I keep getting a error message that it could not complete the copy command because no pixels selected.. Need to solve the problem with lasso, then problem with the error message for no pixels selected next. Would appreciate any help you could give me. I am running PSE13 on my PC.
Trying to cut figure out of one pic and placing in another pic or background.
Would also like to know why any picture I bring out of the photo bin to work on goes immediately to the background even if I got it locked and the oirginal backgroud picture disappears.
HELP!

I have done everything you said, completed my magnetic lasso around figure, as soon as I meet and click, the lasso disappears. Yesterday when I did it and little ants moving around and let go of my mouse it changed to plain lasso inside of picture of the person but was no way to the outside and ants were still running. This morning did as you said and still problem, I tried using a brush to circle it and the ants were running just like supposed to, but when I followed your instructions edit-copy, edit-paste, I still always get the message when I click copy----Could not complete copy command because no pixels are selected every time. I have connected the loop and the little ants are still running (probably getting their little feet tired by now) and still get that error as above. Can't seem to get past that copy stage, what am I doing wrong?????
Thanks for your help in advance.

You have to navigate completely around the object that you are selecting, so that you close the loop. You can backtrack as you go along with the delete key on the keyboard, and also set additional anchor points with a left click. I find it helpful to increase the contrast, if necessary, before starting with the tool.
.Trying to cut figure out of one pic and placing in another pic or background.
Try this
- Open picture B, the one you wish to select something from to add to another picture.
- Use one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, to select the object. You will see an outline ("marching ants") once the selection is complete
- Go to Edit menu>copy to copy the selection to the clipboard
- Open picture A, then go to Edit>paste
- Use the move tool to position object from picture B.
- In the layers palette you should see picture A as the background layer, and object B on a separate layer.

• Demand Planning and eSOA

I am an SCM consultant, with particular interest in Demand Planning.
I am experienced with SAP APO, but am now interested in how the emerging eSOA environment can help with Demand Planning solutions.
Can anyone share thoughts/experiences of how web services in general and SAP eSOA in particular can provide 'added value' to Demand Planning?
Thanks,
Bob Austin, Atos Origin

Generally speaking, the demand plan or forecast is ultimately the "image" of the demand side that the supply side wishes to "mirror" or fulfill against. This view is a consolidation of many views from several players on the demand side -- whose input is provided to a much smaller group of planner-users of the Demand Planning tool.
What eSOA does is to essentially extend the Demand Planning process to this larger audience via a number of means:
The new Duet/Excel capability is one example of this extensibility. Think of all the spreadsheets that are being used to do something associated with the demand management process that you can now start to inject some process discipline and control into.
Another example is the ability to integrate with tools like 3rd party sales force automation or channel partners across mobile devices, etc. Because eSOA decouples the interaction layer from the data itself, I now have greater flexibility to extend and collaborate across an increasingly fragmented "demand chain" and different types of users and devices. The opportunity to add value requires some analysis and creativity -- but we are in the age of user-driven innovation and eSOA is designed for this "self service" paradigm.
Hope this helps.

• Sensor and Pixel Basics

The recent introduction of the 5Ds with its 50.6 megapixels leads me to ask about sensor size and pixels. There is an on-line tome by W. H. Majoros that describes the situation well, I think. You can reference it at "digitalbirdphotography.com".
Frequently when discussing full-frame vs APS-C cameras, the fact that the image appears larger on the APS-C photo is spoken of as its having an increased magnification. But this is misleading. The "real" size of a photo, when displayed on a computer monitor, is seen when looking at it at 100% magnification, in which case there is a one-to-one mapping of sensor pixels to monitor pixels. The displayed photo size of a photo is due to the linear pixel density of the camera sensor, not the overall size of the sensor.
Regarding the ultimate sharpness of a photo, while it is limited by the pixel density (higher is better), it is also limited by the pixel size because of electronic noise (lower pixel density and thus larger pixel size is better). So at some point higher linear pixel density becomes a negative feature.
Which brings me to a comparison of the new cameras, the full-frame 5Ds and the APS-C 7D Mark II. I compute that the linear pixel densities of tese are both about 240 pixels/mm. Until now the full-frame 5D cameras have had lower pixel densities, which seemed like an advantage due to their larger pixels, especially at higher ISO.
So except for the larger FOV provided by the 5Ds, why would anyone want this over the 7D Mark II? I'd appreciate others' thoughts on this.
Thanks,

Canon's ISO ranges include, at the top end, a regime described as "ISO speed expansion" or something similar. One way to describe the transition point into that regime is "the point beyond which you may not want to go if you can't tolerate a lot of noise". If you look closely at the specs, you'll see that that point is two stops lower for the 5Ds than for the 5D Mk III.
So yes, larger pixels are better, and the greater FOV may be the only advantage of the 5Ds over the 7D2. But if you need it, that's how to get it.
And one is left to hope that the 5D3, with its evidently better low-light performance (and noticeably lower price), will remain in the product line for the foreseeable future.
