ON GOING PROBLEM

every time i plug my ipod up to the computer itunes comes up and it says "The software required for comminicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software". when i go to preferences and go under ipod it says no ipod connected even when it is pluged in

I trust you've already checked you have Windows XP Service Pack 2?
Looks like the iPod Service is not working correctly. You can try deactivating all currently running services except the Microsoft and Apple ones in "msconfig".
And when it doesn't work, you have to reinstall or repair your Wiindows installation...

  • HFM Metadata Loading On-going Problem

    Hi There,
We just migrated to HFM 11.1.1.3 from HFM 4.
We used to have an issue in HFM 4 where almost everytime we loaded metadata, the system would hang and become unresponsive. The load screen would just sit there without ever completing the load. You could still use the system but the metadata load would never actually load. The only thing that would resolve it would be to reboot all of the HFM application servers.
This happened to us again the other day but now we're on the new HFM 11.1.1.3. Again, the resolution was to reboot the HFM applications. We tried just restarting the services on the various servers but that didn't work. A full reboot was required.
And nothing was wrong with the metadata itself as it quickly loaded without errors into our DEV and QA environments. As well, we kicked all of the users out of the system prior to the metadata load. Most get out immediately and certainly no heavy calculations or consolidations are being performed during the metadata load.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Should a reboot always precede or accompany a metadata load? Is there any recommendation as to how often you should reboot the Hyperion servers (monthly, quarterly, etc.) as good practice?
    Many Thanks,
    Mike

We are having a similar issue with version 11.1.2.0.0
We try to run an application metadata load from the client and we get an error message
    Unexpected error: 80005005 occurred.
Running the load from the workspace, we receive the following message.
An error has occurred. Please contact your administrator.

This is the second time we have encountered this problem. Oracle support was not able to determine the cause. The fix is to reboot the database server, but we are looking for insight to the problem. Note: Our current development environment is a single server virtual environment connected to a database server. We are planning to move to a more robust test environment with four applications and one database server in a few weeks.
    Thanks for your help,

  • Elements 12 crashes in organizer every use.  Not unique to 12 an on going problem from 9 forward.  This is a new install via download, win7 64 bit.

A long time elements user from the original.  Crash problems have escalated since elements 9 to be beyond annoying.  Reading Adobes' own forums, it is apparent I am not alone, also apparent Adobe cannot fix the problem.  Most disappointing.  A new download, from Adobe, crashed on 1st attempted opening of organizer; nor could the organizer see my card reader, once operational.  Other programs experience no such problems.  This post is more a frustration vent, than an expectation of solution.
Thought I would give Adobe a 2nd effort to rectify/explain.  Initiated an on line chat with service rep.  Wasted 20 minutes with babble accomplishing nothing.  Was transferred to a tech rep. they asked same questions, and while I was typing in details, they severed the connection.  I wish anyone considering a purchase of any Elements version the best of luck  .Elements woes have for me been spread across 2 new computers and 3 versions of the program. There will not be another.

    Hello John
Have you already got some answer from Toshiba?
What to say my friend? In my opinion the best advice you can get from Corel and Adobe. They have best experience with own product and have probably tested them on different hardware platforms.
Notebook manufacturers offer different notebook models with different hardware configurations. Some of them are cheap and offered with average hardware. The performance is not the best but good enough for every day activities like internet, office, mailing and so on.
On other hand there are notebooks with excellent and powerful hardware. Very often such notebooks cost twice as much as cheap low budget products.
Please dont understand me wrong but your C notebook is not the best one for usage with such powerful software.
I really dont know what Toshiba can do about it. I can imagine that you need other graphic driver but graphic driver support for mobile computers is pretty limited and I dont think you can do much about that.
What you can try is to download and install driver from graphic card manufacturer but you must do this on your own risk.
Sorry friend but I dont have any other advice for you. I just think youve bought wrong notebook for such complex graphic operations. 2 GB RAM? I dont know.
    Good luck.

  • In using my Officejet Pro 8500A Plus I am having on going problems with being able to print document

the print function from the command with any program sets the printer up and it says "printing" but nothing happens.  If I uninstall and re-install and print it will work until it rests and then stops again.  Same thing if I power down and back up - it will print ok and then after it rests - no printing again .  Copy function is now doing the same thing.
I have run the fix tool and uninstalled and unistalled etc. and on and on -  this is nuts.  Any help?

    Ok PC sorted.
A reservation says - I want this PC to be always given this IP address.
To reserve an IP from the DHCP panel.
    (in your list of images)
Enter the Mac number of the PC - alongside the IP number you want to give it.
The Mac number is also called the Hardware Address. Network Utility will give you the number. Be careful, you need the Hardware Address of the Wireless connction - not the Ethernet connection which will appear first.
    (Select en0 en1 etc. )
OK - I have a solution for your games too. But you are not going to like it.
Your gaming devices only support old-fashioned 40-bit WEP. Which is easy to crack.
Your AEBSn supports that too - but it is incompatible with 802.11n.
This is what you can do (if you want)
Click the Airport Icon (in Airport Utility) and go the Wireless tab.
You'll see a pulldown marked Radio Mode. If you click it you see 4 options.
But if you OPTION click. You see 8 options. Select 802.11b/g compatible.
Now if you click the Wireless Security pulldown - you'll get the option of 40-bit WEP.
This will give you a Hex String which will fit into your gaming devices.
But of course, you have sacrificed 802.11n to get it.
Another option is to dig out an old 802.11g wireless box and make a dual-band network.
    I think we are done!!!

  • When I open Mail, all accounts are offline.  It takes time to get them back online.  This is an on-going problem that has been chronic and it has finally gotten me "inspired" to ask the Community

When I open Mail, all accounts appear offline.  I have to get back "online" before mail is delivered or sent.  Hassle.  Any Ideas??

I was having this same issue all week. I'm also using 10.8.5 It was driving me crazy. I think I found a solution. I downloaded and installed the latest security update from Apple in the App Store. I have not had a reoccurance since (?). Maybe that will help you as well.

  • I am experiencing problems with my i phone due to sharing my daughters i tunes acoount. I have been told by apple to cancel my existing (shared) i tunes account and open a new one for my use only. How do I do this? Please help. RM

I am experiencing on going problems with my i phone 4 due to me sharing an i tunes account with my daughter. I have been told by apple to cancel my existing (shared) i tunes account and open a new one for my use only. How do I do this? I cant find any links in i tunes to do this. mountfield

No, it's done on the computer, it's just done on the web and not through iTunes. I guess you could do it on the iPhone, but it would be easier to do on the computer.
Just go to the site linked above, then click on the big blue button and fill out the neccessary information.

  • On that last software update we (my family) have noticed on all our iPhone devices there is a huge gitch problem with our devices. My phone is an 4s but the other devices a brand new phones and they started since they updated the software they are having

A concern we've noticing since we have updated the lastest software... Our phone keep glitching and it's moving extremely slower than usual. I have the 4s and my kids have the newer phones 5c and the 5s. Is this a on going problem and if so when is it going to be fixed because this is terrible. Very disappointed customer. I was waiting on the newer iphone for myself but if apple can't get things straighten out with software I will have to consider your competitors. I have majority apple products and so far I am hating the issues I am having. Please fix soon. Thank you.

  • Itunes problems with windows 7 64 bit

Hi, i have searched and searched for a solution to my on going problems with itunes on my windows 7 64bit computer.
it started with my backups not being saved when i sync, then any music i add seems to play strangely i.e skips and plays the start of the song in the middle.
updating last sunday to the new iphone os (4.3) was also a disaster, having to try a number of times over 2-3 days as the downloads just seemed to hang and not do anything. At the end on around my 10th try it downloaded and updated in around 15 mins.
I now find myself when i connect to itunes more often than not having to manually delete corupt backups until i get a succesful one as sometimes it works and other times it doesnt.
I tryed a vista computer a friend has and everything worked perfectly!
    songs, backups the lot!!
So it clearly seems like a problems between windows 7 64bit and iphone 4.
can anyone please shed some light on these issues??????
    Many thanks, gaggie...

I am not sure that I can help with this, but I have seen an instance where continuous backup software cased playback problems.
Also are you using any Norton products?

  • Safari crashes or will not quit also the same problem using Yahoo Mail

Iv been having a problem using Safari & Yahoo Mail. When opening specific e-mails or opening attachments withing the e-mail, Safari will crash. Not once or twice, but 2, 3, 4 or more times. Each time I send in a report to Apple telling them what is happening. I do not have the same problem if I use "Camino" with Yahoo Mail.
I'm also having problems in that there are times when Safari seems to just be sitting there and not opening a page or will not quit when I hit the "Quit Safari" button. It will just sit there and if I bring up the "Force Quit Application" it shows that Safari is (not responding). Then I have to Force Quit Safari to get it to do something.
Know this is really 2 situations, but does it mean that Safari is corrupted? Is it possible to have to much in Safari? To many bookmarks, to many RSS, things like that? Does Safari have it's own max like your HD?

    Morning Maria,
Thanks for the help. I'll try to post the thing I found in the crash log, but it seems to be rather large. Checked and re-checked, but what I'm posting is the only thing that started or stopped like you said at the end. The entire thing runs for pages and pages. Remember I said that it's been an on going problem where Safari will crash 2,3,4 or more times in a 5 minute period. I send a report when ever that report window pops up. That adds up to a lot, LOL.
If I understand you right as well. You're saying that the Safari cache folder should show a big flat ZERO if the cache is emptied and then I go back to check the folder. Does that mean then that when I empty the cache from Safari>Empty Cache ... that it isn't doing exactly everything? So that I will have to start going to Preferences to do it or to remove that folder more?
BTW, does it hurt if I would remove and trash all those crash report logs that are in the files? Right now it shows 10.8MB in there.
Okay, not that this will help, but here is what I found on the Safari crash log:

  • Again with the problems

    hey guys,
so, as i wrote last time, my macbook appeared to be loose in the top right corner (push down and you can see it move/makes noise). i returned it and in exchange got one of the new intel core 2 duo oness (i was under the 14 days). anyway, about a week into my NEW one, i noticed the sides offer that same problem: when you push them in they make the same noise and appear to go in more.
maybe the screws are loose or maybe its not inserted properly, i don't know. but can someone help me? is this an on going problem with macbooks or is it just my luck with them? is this problem going to get worse?...
i dont want to have to change my lap top again...
i would definitly say its some bad luck getting two macbooks with identical problems, however, i could be wrong about this new problem.

Yeah, the same thing happens to my MB. The left side where the two screw are can move in and out a couple millimeters. It's plastic, so it's going to have some give at the seams. If it doesn't bug you too much, I would just try to forget it's there, like I do.
I also notice that the screen has two dark spots near the bottom where the hinge is on either side...that's what bugs me. I can see it out of the corner of my eyes.
    -Gabe

  • Problems launching Bridge CS6

CS6 Beta-on going problem launching CS6 Bridge. Will not open up but CS6 PS does and will work with CS5 Bridge. This obviously is a issue as others have posted this. Have also gone back via "Time Machine" and restored the original CS6 Bridge download which worked for one day, but this no longer works either. Hard to do a beta test when half the program doesn't work! *

  • HT201210 While trying to update my phone I get error that one photo is stopping whole process-this is just a short video? I've never had this problem before.

While trying to update my phone one photo is stopping the whole process and I've gone through all the online suggestions (check for updates, etc)

Verizon was having a problem on their end, perhaps a server down for some repair or updating. However you were already aware that there was an on-going problem in your own posting and you decided to continue on.I can understand you wanting this done and trying to save the $15.00 fee.  However I would have waited a bit longer until the Verizon issue had been corrected. Yes it is frustrating but again you know in advance of a problem , I can understand that this is most upsetting for you but never try to perform any change when a problem is there and I also do not like to do business on a weekend with no live tech support available.  I'm sure this will all work out for you if given some time.  Sorry.
So I have been trying to change my phone number for a few days now and every single time I get this error message, before i even start, "The activity you are trying to perform is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

  • ERROR 1935 PROBLEM

This is a repost from February 27, 2013:
I keep getting an Error 1935 when installing Adobe Reader when it gets to about 96% installed.  It also says "An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}.  HRESULT:  0x80073712."  I have done everything on the Help page and get the same response.  I have reinstalled the .NET Framework, tried turning off the Windows Firewall and antivirus program before installation, run the recommended command at the C: prompt, and tried downloading from the alternative link on the Adobe website.  I also ran a registry cleanup utility and still received the same response.
This seems to have been an on-going problem with Adobe Reader for quite some time now, so I hope someone has a fix.

One other thing to try is to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package before installing Reader
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
Maybe those actions inside Reader installer will find that assembly already installed and will not try and fail.
    Does it make sense?
Even if pre-install of the Redistributable Package fail, maybe you will get better error information

  • Problem opening elements 9 organizer..it says "Runtime Error!" . How do you overcome?

On going problem. When I try to go to "Organize" in Elements 9 I get a window saying:
    Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:/Program File...
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Is this an Adobe Elements problem..or a windows problem ? I don't seem to find anything that will tell me what causes this, and more importantly, what to do about it.
    Thanks for your input

  • No response to my IQ506 problems

It is interesting that no-one has been able to post solutions to my on-going problems with my new IQ506.
These are serious design faults which HP has yet to address and should not exist in a new PC costing $1,500!

Thank you raster Blaster. Since posting my last, I have received a call from HP to say they are looking into these issues which are known. That's all I ask.
