On Google, Ffox 3.6.12 only shows 10 results even when I specify 100; Mac G4 10.4.11; other browsers show 100 no problem.

On my Mac dual 1.25 GHz Power PC G4 with OS X 10.4.11 and Firefox 3.6.12, when I open Google and specify 100 results like this...

...it always just shows 10 results. Whereas Opera and Safari (I don't use Internet Extorter) show 100 results no problem using that same URL.
Problem has being occurring at least since Firefox 3.6.9 if I recall correctly. Not sure if it was happening before that.

Google recently made some changes to the Google search site with the addition of Instant search and that made the setting of the number of results in the Google settings to stop working.
If Instant search is enabled on the [http://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en Google Search settings] page (link at the top right) then you only get 10 results.<br />
You have to disable instant search and reload the result page and then set the number of results to your preferred choice.<br />
It may not work if you make both changes at the same time.
There is a link directly to the right of the Google search field on the Google results page.<br />
That is a button with a drop down list: Instant is On/Off.<br />
There is also a radio check box on the Google Settings page, that has replaced the previously used Suggestions.

Well plug it in again, and then hold the "Lock" and "Home" button at the same time for about 10 seconds. See if that helps.

The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

iPod is showing "locked" even when the toggle switch is not on lock. I have restored it via iTunes, and it still shows locked, so can not use at all. So you are saying that the time is in parentheses? I want to make sure I understand what you are having trouble with. When I am running on battery, the time left is in parentheses (3:15). When I am charging, the number (1:13) is in parentheses, as well as the word Charged (Charged). If the time option is selected in the preferences, there will always be parentheses. This is my experience.

What page are you using for your new tab page? Is it completely blank or is it the page with the thumbnails, but with the thumbnails hidden (in that case, there usually is a grid-like icon on the upper right side of the page)?

But... extensions can override this setting. If you are getting a page other than the one you specified, that could be explanation.

You can undo your permission changes. Probably the most relevant one is cookies. Try one or both of these methods:
(1) Page Info > Permissions tab
While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Permissions
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Permissions
(2) about:permissions
In a new tab, type or paste '''about:permissions''' and press Enter. Allow a few moments for the list on the left to populate, as this information needs to be extracted from a database.

Submenus are moving to top of screen in IE8? All other browsers show correctly

First off, I am new to web design and Dreamweaver, but a fast learner. So please - presume I know very little.
I am using a mac, and created a horizontal nav bar using the spry widget (DMCS3; Spry 1.6.1). Everything is ok, except for the submenus in my nav bar. I've confirmed that it looks correct (for the PC) in Chrome and Firefox and (for the mac) Safari and Firefox. But in Internet Explorer 8, the submenus are moving all the way to the top of the screen. The only way I have been able to fix it, is if I type 132 px for the "top" "margin" in the "box" category in my ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul rule. However, by doing that it makes all the other browsers view it incorrectly ( the submenu is down towards the bottom of the page).
I have seen where people have been putting "conditional comments" in their CSS file, for IE...and if this what I need to do, what do I need to write, and where do I need to put it in order to all IE8 users to conform to the 132 px top margin, while all other users conform to the original 2 px top margin.
Lastly, a few people have commented that the submenu buttons are "sticking" (loading/disappearing slowly) as they scroll through the buttons, is there a way for me to fix that?

The Message Pane shows up even when selected not to.

When I open Thunderbird the Message Pane shows up. I have gone to View, Layout and deselected the Message Pane but it will show up again when I open Thunderbird. When I look at the layout again, the Message Pane is checked marked again. I have to deselect the Message Pane continually. This is a security issue for me in that some e-mail security issues are activated by just having the e-mail displayed in the Message Pane.
I always update Thunderbird immediately when a new version is released. Can you solve this problem because it has been an issue for me for quite some time and several Thunderbird updates.

That seems to have solved my problem. I even did a re-boot to make sure that the T-Bird view was without the Message Pane. Thanks for your help!
Now I have to figure out how to get rid of all of the cache that T-Bird and FireFox leaves behind.

After a reboot my cisco shows the objects it tracks as up even when nothing is plugged into the interface used to track the objects. I have an EEM script that reboots the router 1 time when it finds that 4 dial numbers it round robins thru are unavialable and this works. The problem is after the reboot it see's the objects as available and re-inserts the reboot script and when they finally show down as they should be the reboot hapens over and over. Any Ideas on how to get the router to not show the tracked objects up after a reboot if the interface is down?

As I said in the other thread, I suspect the "delay down" is causing the behavior you are seeing.

Monitored service shows Healthy even when both servers are down

I have set up monitoring on an web application. All of the components show Healthy State no matter what. We can shutdown some of the servers, stop the WWW Publishing service or other services and it still shows Healthy. I've checked the Event logs, restarted
IIS when instructed.
The only thing I can see as a possible issue is when I look at the State View for the application there is nothing in the APM ASP .NET Web Service Application Component column and nothing in the APM Windows Service Component column. In other words
they show as not monitored. All of the other columns have green check marks.

I think what you are seeing is by design. APM (as in ".NET Application Performance Monitoring" feature) WILL NOT tell you if the application is completely down. It will only tell you if it is throwing exceptions or responding SLOWLY.... but if
it is totally down, APM is down WITH it and can't tell you anything about itself...
You need to use other means to know those other issues:
'Traditional' MPs (such as IIS's and BaseOS MPs) will tell you health issues with those layers
'Synthetic' transactions such as those created with the Web Transaction or Web Availability Monitoring wizard
OpsMgr by default alerts about missing heartbeats from agents and will tell you they went down...
In the State View, you only see the components that are discovered - if you application 'lives' in IIS and is NOT a 'Windows Service', then it is normal not to see it as a 'Windows Service' - unless it is.
I suggest you take a look at some older blog posts I wrote - for example that around APM Object model in OM
