On Interface show collisions?

What is mean by display collisions numbers on interface of ASA Firewall?
Thanks in advance..

Hi Abhinay,
If you are looking for what are collisions in the show interface output on ASA,  they occur when the ASA and the connected device try sending traffic at the same time. Please check the following link for more information :

  • I am having trouble with my Mac Mini's ethernet connection.   Defining a new network interface shows no ethernet adaptor.  Reloading SL from DVD repaired.  But SL update lost ethernet again.  Will Lion Fix?

I am having trouble with my mac mini ethernet.  It had been working for weeks after an update to SL 10.6.8.
Once it went out and i repaired it by defining a new connection from System Preferences ->Network->(left panel service, +).
But yesterday, after a power up.  my ethernet was not working again. I tried this old trick to repair it, but the interface choices
listed for '+' a new service did not include Ethernet any more.  And the Utilities->System Profiler->Ethernet Cards shows
    no ethernet available.
As a last ditch effort i reloaded my original SL from DVD.  (I think it was version 10.6.4 but i could be mistaken on the version).
The ethernet worked!  But KeyNote wasn't going to work because apparently the version i purchased depends on 10.6.8.
So I upgraded again to SL 10.6.8 (Plus some other updates like AirPort which i don't use).
Now the Ethernet is not working again.  I see the same symptoms as before with the Ethernet seeming not installed.
Is this a problem seen by others?
Would going to Lion fix the problem?
Could AirPort actually be the culprit and not SL?
If i stay with my original SL, would i need to repurchase a version of KeyNote for the older version of SL?

    Have you reset the SMC?
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
While you're at it, resetting the PRAM won't hurt anything and 'might' help is SMC reset didn't work (PRAM does some port control):
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
Something else you might try .... you don't say how you're updating to 10.6.8, however, if you're using Software Update, you might try downloading the 10.6.8 combo update, which contains all updates to 10.6. Sometimes, Software Update doesn't work quite right, and installing the combo update fixes that. Download the update from Apple's download site at http://support.apple.com/downloads/ , using Disk Utility repair permissions, apply the combo update, then repair permissions again.

  • Interface showing NO-CARRIER & DORMANT, but working

Long time Linux user, first time Arch user.  Trying to configure ArchARM on a Rasp Pi (Not sure that's related).
Note - I'm totally new to systemctl and netctl, been using Redhat-like systems for a long time....
I was converting the standard install of dhcpcd to a static IP assignment.  I did the following:
    cp /etc/netctl/examples/ethernet-static /etc/netctl/eth0
vi /etc/netctl/eth0 # (and set IP, gateway, etc. as appropriate)
    systemctl stop [email protected]
    systemctl disable [email protected]
ip link set eth0 down #netctl seems to need this or its not happy
    systemctl start [email protected]
systemctl enable [email protected] # Not sure what is netctl vs netctl-auto
At this point all was good and things were working as expected.
I then rebooted the system and when I reconnected, I looked at the network:
    [root@alarmpi ~]# ip addr show dev eth0
    4: eth0: <NO-CARRIER,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state DORMANT qlen 1000
    link/ether b8:27:eb:c2:4e:2e brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
    inet 192.168.1.4/24 brd 192.168.1.255 scope global eth0
Note - the interface is working, I'm connecting (via SSH) over it, etc.  But, it makes no sense to me why it would indicate NO-CARRIER and DORMANT.  Why is the OS not recognizing the link as UP?  Seems the NO-CARRIER and UP/LOWER_UP flags are conflicting, no?
    Thanks.
Also, any pointers on learning more about systemctl and netctl would be appreciated (can't find a good primer anywhere...)

Welcome to the bbs, however, please note ARM is covered elsewhere: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=153431
The command's output is misleading. You see another UP inside the brackets, that's the relevant one.
Please have a look at the wiki pages here first for pointers. For netctl the devs also put a lot of effort in comprehensive man pages which the wiki page tries to complement I guess.

  • BPC NW Web Interface showing blank content

    Hi,
When i click on the BPC Web interface from the Admin Console, it is showing a blank page with Getting started, Live Reporting Frame header. I have checked with user authorization and everything. This is happening in the Server itself. Please let me know possible causes and solution for this.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I've the same problem. There is only a blank page, if i want to work with the BPC Web Interface, regardless if I want to make 'first steps' or ' busisness process flow' or other.
I've checked the internet explorer settings and for testing I set it all to the lowest security level but it's not working, i still get the 'blank page'.
It would be nice, if you could explain which changing in the settings of the internet explorer solved your problem.
    Many thanks

  • 11G Cluster Install: Identify Net Interface shows wrong IP subnets??

I'm in the middle of an 11Gr2 cluster install.
On the screen where it has you Identify Network Devices,
On my eth0 (public) ip...and the eth3 (vip) listings...it has the wrong subnet.
    Example...
    11.8.224.0(shown by oui)....should be 11.8.232.0 for eth0
    and
    11.8.224.0 (shown by oui)...should be 11.8.232.0 for eth3
    eth1, is shown correctly.
When I look at ifconfig...I confirm my subnet numbers should be ok. I cannot find a way on the OUI screen, to change anything about the subnet IP address. It will only let me change the "type" to public, private or do not use.
Any ideas where the OUI is picking up its information concerning the network interfaces?? I dunno why it is showing 224 rather than 232.
Any suggestions? I can't find anything about this on the Oracle support site...
This is on a RHEL5 box, 64 bit.
    Thanks in advance,
    cayenne

    Yes,
you can configure etho or eth1 using
#system-config-networkafter changes done you have to restart the services, make sure both the nodes are not using same ethernet ports
    service network restart

  • No network interfaces showing

Hello everyone. I have been using arch linux for a few months now and loving it, except for one weirdly persistent problem with my wireless. In fact this is the third time it has happened to me and have been unable to fix it. The last two times I simply reinstalled arch after failure of any progress but that is very tedious, timewasting and most important unnecessary, so I am calling upon the arch-linux forum for help.
Basically my problem is this, I have been using wifi-menu to connect to my wireless network since I got arch and everything was going smoothly, no problems at all, until one day I booted up my computer and was unable to find any connections what so ever. At first I thought it was just my router crashing or something but everyone else was able to connect fine so I ran the command iw dev and was surprised to see that there was no output. It had discovered no connections or interfaces at all, not just my personal connection had dissapeared but so had all of my neighbours. I tried plugging in an ethernet cable to my laptop but was unable to receive any connection from that either. It may be helpful to note that in the past the interface for my wireless connections changed at random. It changed from wlp2s0 to wlo1.
Here are somethings that I have tried doing recently to fix the problem.
Although I doubted it would help me as my problem seems to be that I have no wireless interfaces available, I had heard that having multiple packages, e.g dhpcd and netctl, handling your connection at once can cause conflicts. I tried disabling all dhpcd services running because I believe netctl is what wifi-menu uses. Here is the current states of my services from the command systemctl list-unit-files.

I also tried disabling netctl@(my profile).service and left netctl@(my other profile).service (I have multiple profiles from when my interface name changed) enabled to make sure there were no conflicts there. Just so you know when my problem occurred neither wireless connections were enabled at the time. As I said I was using wifi-menu to manually connect after start up.
The only thing I have read about solutions similar to my problem is the mention of getting wireless drivers in the arch-wiki but I already have broadcom-wl drivers installed(although I may not have set them up this time over as they were not active meaning I was probably using broadcom brcmsmac/brcmfmac or b43). I thought that possibly my the drivers had somehow been disabled and when I checked with lsmod | grep broadcom nothing came up. I then loaded the module with sudo modprobe broadcom. Now lsmod | grep broadcom returns two results.

I find it odd that this is happening to me on arch linux only. My windows 8 is fine (I have a dual boot) and even when I used Manjaro over the course of a couple of months, which is based on arch, it worked fine for me. I was using wicd on Manjaro and am thinking of using that next time for arch. It is also important to remember that it's not only my wireless that's not working, neither is my wired connection.
Any help would be appreciated. I have no idea what to do to fix it and can not find any reports of similar problems happening to anyone else. I really want to get back to linux. My productivity has dropped alot since I have been using Windows 8. If you need me to post the output of any commands just say and I will do so. Once again thank you for any help.

    Haha yea I'm sure.
Yea I know but I could never get it to work. Then again I haven't used wired on arch before.
    Sure it's:

  • No CFP interface shows in the N7K

Recently we installed a N7K-M202CF-22L card in the Nexus 7010 switch.
The card seems to be good but we cannot find any CFP port by use the command "show int status"
    The software version is 6.1(1).
Any body knows what's wrong with it ?
The attached is the output of the follow command.
    1) show int status
    2) show inventory
    3) show version module 2 epld
Does the card need special configuration?

    Hi Sol72,
I'm sorry you're having this problem, but I have a few things that should be able to help you.  One advantage in using the iPhone with your printer is the availability of the AirPrint feature that will let you print from the phone without needing the ePrint app.  You can find information about using AirPrint with our printers here.
Let me know if this helps, or if you're still having problems printing from your iPhone.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!

  • Interface shows only Sources Panel.  How to show the Target & Map Panels

Someone must have hit some keys to hide the Target and Map panels in the Interface so that when I create a new interface, all I see in the Diagram tab is the Sources Panel. Does any one know how I can restore the other two panels?
    Thanks.

    Any suggestions ???

  • Show interface - received broadcast - counter - Vlan - L2 mcast

    HI All,
I have a situation where the Show interface on 7609 displays broadcast counters. I did capture wireshark but did not see any broadcast. Wireshark broadcast for 1 minute shows 20 broadcast packets where as Vlan interface shows increase at rate of 1000 per minute.
      L2 Switched: ucast: 8529 pkt, 896149 bytes - mcast: 35427 pkt, 2338134 bytes
L3 in Switched: ucast: 0 pkt, 0 bytes - mcast: 0 pkt, 0 bytes mcast
L3 out Switched: ucast: 0 pkt, 0 bytes mcast: 0 pkt, 0 bytes
40978 packets input, 2996897 bytes, 0 no buffer
Received 35607 broadcasts (0 IP multicasts)
The doubt I have is that I am running HSRP on LAN with 5 groups and 300ms hello. This makes around 1000 hello packets per second. The L2 multicast counter also increases at almost same rate of 1000 packets per second . The received broadcast and L2 mcast counters are almost same.
Is it likely that the received broadcast also includes the HSRP hello packets destined for 224.0.0.2? but it does shows(0 IP multicast).
Can someone please confirm that the received broadcast counter includes multicast HSRP packets or is it just a coincidence. But again on wireshark I dont see 1000 broadcast packets only HSRP packets in addition to unicast traffic.
Any help or Cisco link that can prove this will also help.
    Thanks
    M

    Found the answer.
Anatomy of RX packet counters on a Cisco Nexus 5548:
    Nexus5548# show int eth1/29
      RX
6387682660 unicast packets  1495485 multicast packets  164 broadcast packets
        6389178309 input packets  589693485138 bytes
5146969 jumbo packets  0 storm suppression bytes
      * "input" = unicast + multicast + broadcast (all non-jumbo)
      * "jumbo" = frames sized 1519 bytes to the MTU bytes defined on the interface
      * "jumbo" frames are counted separately from non-jumbo ("input")
      * (unicast, multicast and broadcast "jumbo" frames appear to be rolled into the
            one "jumbo" counter)
This can be seen another way with the 'count detail' command, correlated to "show int" output:
Nexus5548# show int eth1/29 count detailed
    Ethernet1/29
      Rx Packets:                                  6389178309 <-- input
Rx Unicast Packets:                          6387682660 <-- unicast
Rx Multicast Packets:                           1495485 <-- multicast
Rx Broadcast Packets:                               164 <-- broadcast
Rx Jumbo Packets:                               5146969 <-- jumbo
      Rx Bytes:                                  589693485138
      Rx Packets from 0 to 64 bytes:                  1059418 <-- non-jumbo start
      Rx Packets from 65 to 127 bytes:             6072007478       +
      Rx Packets from 128 to 255 bytes:              11055520       +
      Rx Packets from 256 to 511 bytes:             287107435       +
      Rx Packets from 512 to 1023 bytes:             12801466       +
      Rx Packets from 1024 to 1518 bytes:                  23 <-- non-jumbo end
Rx Trunk Packets:                            6387682823 <-- unicast + broadcast

  • GetNetworkInterfaces() missing some interfaces

    Hi there,
I want to retrieve a list of installed network interfaces and I am using:
            try
                Enumeration<NetworkInterface> nifs = NetworkInterface.getNetworkInterfaces();
                while (nifs.hasMoreElements())
                    NetworkInterface nif = nifs.nextElement();
                    System.out.println("Interface: " + nif.getName());
            catch (SocketException ex)
                Logger.getLogger(Net.class.getName()).log(Level.WARNING, null, ex);
}The problem is, that it does not show all interfaces - this is what it shows:

RX bytes:0 (0.0 B)  TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)If you now wonder why there is an eth2 but not eth0 this could be because there was a network card that got removed (a good while ago). Why the hack are the others not available in the enumeration of network interfaces? I am using Sun JDK 1.6 update 20:
    java -version
    java version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 16.3-b01, mixed mode)

I have made several tests and found out that: As soon as I plug in a cable to the interface eth2 then it is recognized. Even if I then plug it off. After reboot it is again not showing up any more.
I am using Ubuntu 9.10 - is it possible that there is an issue with the sun Java runtime on Linux/Ubuntu?
Tried it with the OpenJDK - no, same issue here.
It is really a headache and I already searched the internet - samples to retrieve the interfaces are always basically the same and nobody writes that only interfaces are reported by getNetworkInterfaces() that are up (or have been up recently).
I tested also with the virtualbox - as soon as I start one of the virtual machines the interface shows up.
I started to think it could be an issue of the single machine... - tested on a different machine with very slightly different hardware on Ubuntu 10.04 - same issue here!
I tested on a Windows 2003 machine - there it seems to work even for interfaces that are not up.
Finally tested on Windows 7 and guess what: Even ipconfig /all does not show all interfaces - super crap!
    WUUAAHH!
I think I must give up on getting the list of network interfaces in a reliable and platform independent way as even calling the OS specific tools Windows 7 fools me...

    what does is mean?

    Hello,
what other switches do you have in your network ? If you have just the 2950 and the 3500, make sure that the 2950 is the root switch for all your VLANs, by configuring the global command:
    spanning-tree vlan x priority 0
Also, check the log on the 2950 for the following message:
    SCHAN ERROR INTR: SRC=6 DST=5 OPCODE=20 ERRCODE=5
If you see those, chances are that you have a faulty unit. Here is the relevant bug info:
    CSCdv83336 Bug Details
Under certain level of traffic load, the (2950) switch will start logging the following messages on the console:
    SCHAN ERROR INTR: SRC=6 DST=5 OPCODE=20 ERRCODE=5
and after a few seconds, the switch will stop passing any traffic. In some cases, the switch seemed still forwarding broadcast and multicast traffic, which will cause STP problem if the switch has redundant link and is not supposed to be the root for the VLAN, as both port will go forwarding.
The same error message has been identified in CSCdu87836.
    An assessment of the impact
    Unit stops passing any traffic.
    WORKAROUND
Several units were returned by CISCO. The units were re-screened to the latest test program, and failed the SDRAM memory test.
Customer should RMA unit back to Cisco

  • Full Duplex Collisions???

OK Im really confused. I thought you couldnt have collisions with a full duplex port but yet my switches are showing collisions even though they are set to full. Also I was told that some applications will not run right if the network cards are set to full duplex. Has anyone ever run into this?

    William
Part of the definition of full duplex is that the collision detection mechanism is disabled on a full duplex port/interface. So I believe it is impossible to have collisions on a port that is configured as full duplex - other than the possible result of some bug in the code.
Is it possible that the interface counters recorded collisions at some point in the past when the port was half duplex?
I have not run into any situation where an application would not run on a port set to full duplex. And I wonder how the application would know. One of the advantages of the layered model is that the upper layers are insulated from dependencies on what happens at lower layers. How would an application know whether the port was half duplex or full duplex?

  • Creative Cloud App just showing blank white box! Cannot install Photoshop

I'm trying to install a Photoshop trial - have followed instructions to install the CC app. The icon appears on my desktop and a Creative Cloud folder appears in my Explorer folder but when I click on the CC app, all I see is a white box.
Occasionally, I have managed to get list of apps to show - but when I click on the "Try" button next to Photoshop, again it goes to a blank white box. Can't do anything! No spinning icon showing that something is loading - just blank white.
Very frustrating. Just want to download the trial so I can decide if I want to buy. Am on Windows 8 (64 bit). Have tried uninstalling and re-installing using a different browser (Firefox & Chrome) but still same result.
    Please help!!
    Thank you,

Hi again Jeff - I just read on a similar thread that another user had the same issue with blank CC app and realised the problem was her username having an ampersand "&"
I have an ampersand also in my username on the computer - do you think this might be affecting the issue?
She gave instructions for changing the username (although the link is for Win 7 and I'm using Win 8) - but I'm nervous about changing big system things like that. What happens to "permissions" on certain folders - am I likely to be locked out of making changes in certain folders?
Here is what she wrote on that thread:
If you have ampersand (&) or other non-alphabet characters in windows user folder name (Example: C:\Users\Bob & Mary), then Flash Builder will fail to install (happened to me), Creative Cloud will display white screen, and/or other miscellaneous problems.
I confirmed this to be true and works:
    1) I had blank Creative Cloud window as shown in the first post.
    2) I renamed the display username and window user folder name by doing the instructions here:
       http://www.ghacks.net/2011/03/28/how-to-change-a-windows-account-name-and-user-profile-fol der-name/
(Example: Change from "Bob & Mary" to "Bob n Mary" - without the quotes)
    3) After logging back in my newly renamed account, I opened Creative Cloud and login interface shows up! :-)
I would prefer not to do this if you have another suggestion? But just thought I'd mention this as well to see what you thought.
I have also since tried uninstally CC, deleting both the OOBE folder and the AAMUpdater folder, then re-installing CC again... same result. I always get to the list of Apps fine but the minute I click on the "Try" button next to Photoshop, the whole App window goes to a blank white screen and freezes.
    Thank you.
