On ipad to hp 6500A printer, message says contacting printer, but does not connect.

New 6500A prints wirelessly ok from vista laptop and desktop. also prints from ipad printbureau app. but when printing direct from ipad email or pic, I get message that it is "contacting printer", but will not go any further to connect

I have the HP Envy--but it's at my studio and I'm at home so I'm going off memory here, and my understanding of networking is,shall we say, limited. But, as the HP Envy is an AirPrint printer, you don't need Print and Share or any of the other wireless printing apps (although I have Print and Share).
I have a WiFi iPad 2. After Setting up the Envy, I just joined a local wireless network using the Envy touchscreen and then joined that same network on my iPad. Then, when I choose Print in, for example, Pages, the Envy appears after the Select Printer option.
All I can suggest is to make sure the Envy has a connection to the same wireless network as your iPad. (in my case I have to select a local network which does not have Internet access as my Envy isn't registered on the university-wide network.)
(I did complete the initial setup of the Envy on my laptop (MacBook Pro) (and which requires a USB cable for setup) and that gave me printing and scanning options from my MacBook. I don't see how that would have any bearing on the AirPrint function from the iPad.)
(I do think that the Envy printer is an amazingly useful little printer, especially with the ability to scan to a flash drive or SD card.)

Buy the Snow Leopard retail installer (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA).
That will take you to 10.6.3.
If required you can then use the combo updater to get to the latest version, 10.6.8 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399)

I just encountered the same problem on my 2 month old MBPro. I found a work around by changing USB ports. As for the actual cause or the reason why that worked, I dont know. The USB port I was using works fine with my phone or other USB devices.

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. That's very strange. See if clearing the cache in Safari will make it work. I'll include the steps below. If that doesn't help, install a different browser, such as Opera, to see if that will print from pages that Safari won't. If it will, then something is wrong with Safari. If it doesn't print, then the web pages might have printing blocked. There are sites that are doing that for copyright reasons. Let me know what you find.
To clear the cache on Safari:
Open Settings.
Select Safari
Touch Clear Cache.
Select Clear.
Touch Clear Cookies.
Select Clear.
Touch Clear History.
Select Clear.

My Epson r800 prints, but does not appear in Printer List. It is connected via USB to the iMac. A Brother LH-2070N is connected via AirPort Extreme. I need to use Utilities to clean the head of cartridge, check levels, etc.. Is there a way to fix this problem?
iMac Mac OS X (10.4.9)

For your Epson try this:
Hard Drive, Library, Printers (folder), Epson folder,
Inkjetprinter folder, Utilities folder and here you
will find Epson Printer Utility2. Click on it and it
should work.
Note. Epson utilities will not work unless the
Printer is directly connected to the computer.
Had the same issue with my 2200 photo and the above
worked.
Tried again after reinstalling the drivers. There is no separate Inkjet Folder, but the Printer Utility is within the Epson folder. Unfortunately, the r800 still does not appear in the Printer List, hence no utility.

It should be it the iHome supports the bluetooth profiles that the iPod supports. See:

Try resetting the iHome if it was previusly paired to another device.

Pavillon a6710t at Logo Screen, says "Entering Setup.....", but does not proceed to load. Have performed all the usual Diagnostics on Boot HDD. It received a clean bill of health.
Performed all usual steps in diagnosing "Windows will not load".

well, you could... but might be kind of spendy for a PCthat is more than 3 years old. I'd think about purchasing a new one and I would remove the drive and see If I could read it as a second drive in the new PC - to try and get your files off of it. I can't print from firefox. The paper feeds throught the printer but does not print. The same web pages will print when I use internet explorer. And the printer works fine with word, excell etc, just not with firefox.

To open a document you must have installed an Android application for it. The file is downloaded but can be opened with Firefox, but with the specific app from Android.
Try installing a documents app and for sure it will work.

HP Deskjet 1510 Allin One ggoes thru motions to print but does not

When trying to sync with itunes error message reads Apple mobile device not started. I pod turns on but does not connect to itunes

When I try to sync my ipod with itunes I get an error message which tells me Apple mobile device is not started.

"itunes could not connect with the itunes store. An unknown error occurred (11556)."
This error is associated with ringtones, are you trying to sync a ringtone, purchase a ringtone...need more info...
I have also an error message saying it cannot sync and error message number 0050.
Are you on Windows XP? Is this the error message...iTunes displays -50 error message? If so, follow these directions:

If the printer successfully print, it do exists within Devices and Printers..
Windows 7 may merge several devices into a single icon, right clicking a merged icon will let you then choose the specific device as you may see in the following screenshot as a sample:
Check any existing printer icon and locate the one your printer combined with..
If none of the printers does not list the 4500 printer make sure to right click the Computer icon within the Devices category, I notiice the printer sometimes merged within the computer as well, then you will see any printer options (e.g. Printer Properties, Printing Preferences within the computer menu.

New macbook pro connects to HP psc printer but does not print

I have just got the new macbook pro model A5102 and i have followed the instructions on the HP website to install my HP psc 1317 all- in-one printer. I am using a USB connection, and I have followed the instructions, turning on printer, connecting via usb, checking for software updates. The printer queue is automatically made, and i go to printer and scanners and it is there in the list. I then go to print and nothing appears in the queue. I disconnect the printer and it goes offline so the connection via usb is working, its just not printing. I have also restarted the laptop and I have deleted and re-installed printer several times. I don't know if I am missing something out, so can somebody please help. Ive been to the HP website as I assumed I needed to download a driver but it does not give me the option.
