On IPad3, setting up form to enter alpha information only on a sheet. Form only seems to accept numeric data. How do I get it to work?

I am setting up a numbers ledger to catagorize and keep information on documents.  Trying to set up a form to enter data, but forms only seem to accept numeric data--in that the numeric key pad pops up automatically and there is no way to change it to the alpha keypad.  I have tried various ways of setting up the sheet, thinking this may change the way the form will accept data, without success. 
Further description:  Sheet one, all columns and rows have alpha information, such as "Name of Document", "Sub-Titles in Document", "Headings" in document.  My attempt is to create using Numbers, a library program allowing me to enter and search the beforementioned.  It works, I have been entering the data row by row, but want to create a form that will make data entry easier.

Thanks to bwfromspring hill for answering this question for me by way of another question on another topic.  It is working now.  I had set up the form before I had finished the sheet.  By deleting the form, selecting the sheet, then clicking + and "create new form", then selecting the sheet name, the form now enters alph data just like the sheet was set up to do.  I did have to go to the paint brush, select tables and make sure that "table name--on" was selected so the form was linked to the sheet.
