On iPhone5 with iOS 8.0.2 gives strange storage behaviour

I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 8.0.2 and something strange has happened to my storage in the phone.
Had 4.5 GB free when I upgraded from iOS7 to iOS8, after that I have only un-installed apps - not installed any new ones. Today I have 1.8 GB left in storage, but that number is changing all the time. I had 300 MB less space when I woke up this morning compared to when I went to bed. The only thing that has happened during that time is that I have had a normal charger connected to it.
My storage also changes throughout the day with several 100 MB in differenence without me doing anything.
Also, I have 1 GB of pictures in my photo stream, but I can't access and view them from my iPhone. I have to use my iPad to see them.
Anybody have similar issues and problems with the iPhone storage after upgrading to iOS8?
Note: I have added 200 GB iCloud Drive storage - but that should not affect the internal storage in the phone.

Apparently it's still being qualified and they need to see if a firmware update will be needed... so unfortunately get ready for some rounds of finger pointing while the dust settles.

You can't. Sprint phones can be unlocked ONLY for use on non US carriers. They can not be used on any US carrier other than Sprint. If you want to use a different carrier in the US, sell the phone and buy one you can use.

Good job on troubleshooting your issue with No SIM on your iPhone. The last few steps would be to restore your iPhone. If that does not help, then the next step would be to contact Apple for additional support.

If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.
searching the internet i found a link to upgrtade to 10.7
The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.

I just bought an iPhone 5 on the 21st of March. I ate through 850 MB's in 12 days. I read up on the issue of data consumption looking for tips to conserve data. I did not know there was a problem.
This morning I found out that I was leaking data very little, but daily it accumulates. I am in Barcelona, Spain. I do not have a contract, I am on a prepaid Yoigo carrier.
I happened upon an article/blog by Robert Parks at snnyc.com "problems persist in ios 6.1.2.".
Although his situation did not relate to me, I tried a few tests on my own to see if I could stop the data leak without turning off my celular data and possibly push notifications, I think I found a solution that might help someone:
In ios 6.1.3 goto Settings/Mail, Contacts,Calenders and scroll down to Calendars and turn off " New Invitation Alerts" and also turn off "Shared Calendar Alerts".
My Cellular Network Data seems to be behaving. I only see a change in MB used when I open an ap that uses data.

Many people are having probalems with this right now. The only solution I've seen that seems to consistently work is the one posted by Brackers28 here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23020591#23020591. This only works if you still have access to your old email account. If you don't, you'll have to have Apple help you reset the password for your old account so you can turn off Find My iPhone and sign into your account with your correct ID.

Honda accord 2014 with ios 8 no longer gives me list of albums, songs, podcasts etc. it worked well with ios 7

BLuetooth on Honda Accord LX: with my old iPhone 4S running ios 7, I had no issues. However, with iPhone 6 running ios 8.1 I can no longer get the list of categories (Songs, Albums, Podcasts) etc. It will play songs, randomly chosen, but there is no way for me now to choose anything, nor to play Podcasts. I have treied removing the device from both car and from iPhone and repairing but that did not help. Strangely, if I attach the phone to the USB connection in the car, then it does give me the category list. But then it appears to get confused between the phone as a blooth device and the phone as a USB device. Apparently many other car owners are having similar issues.

If you did a Restore as new device and the restored all of your apps and data you might have restored something that is causing problems on your iPad. I suggest restoring as new. But do not restore your apps and data until you can completely test the iPad to make sure it is working all right. Then add parts of your stuff back until you determine what might be causing the problem.
Also, the current version of iOS is 8.1.2. When you do the restore your should be updated to that version of the iOS.

IPhone5 with ios 7.1

Initially I received message on my phone to upgrade to later version Ios.
I have currently no access to WiFi
So connected to iTunes (latest version)
iTunes also said need to upgrade the phone
It started downloading and said it was installing a version IOS 7.0.6
Then stopped saying, cannot upgrade the phone.
Only then did I realise that my phone already indicated it has ios 7.1
Q1. If 7.1 is the latest version correctly on my phone, what do I do with the indication on the phone that says it needs an upgrade?
Q2. How do I upgrade the phone using iTunes, to latest 7.1+, or whatever is the upgrade since? (If iTunes doesn't know what to upgrade to?)

Well, after 3 more tries, it eventually did work.
And I found out my IOS version was in fact 5.0.6 trying to upgrade to 7.1

Maps app on iPhone5 with iOS 7.1 is not announcing directions with sound turned on

My Maps app has stopped announcing directions. iPhone 5, iOS 7.1 with latest updates. Location services is turned on. Sounds are turned on. Volume is set to Loud in the Maps app. Cellular Data is turned on for Maps. I tried resetting my phone per the instructions online and nothing has helped so far. Any ideas?

After much trial and error I finally figured this out. It has to do with the starting location. The starting location must be "Current Location" in order for Maps to announce turn-by-turn directions. In other words you have to start by entering your destination address, and then select "directions to here", which sets the from location to "current location". I had dropped a pin on my home, which is the same starting address as "current location", so should have given me the same result, but for some reason when you type in the actual address of your current location for the starting location, it does not activate the voice control for turn-by-turn navigation. I have tried this two or three times and every time when I enter the starting location, Maps does not announce directions, but when I let it calculate my current location it does. Even when location services are turned on for Maps in both cases. Can't understand the logic here or why Aplle would program it this way, but it is what it is. If anyone else is having this issue, I hope this helps.
