On iPod & iPad, site with scrolling is flush left, white space on right & nav bar disabled

I am having an issue with a site I am creating.
I noticed the site displays differently on iPod. When the site address begins with nothing (no http://) - it displays OK. (Although I am trying to make it more centered).
But when the site address begins with http:// - it displays far left - cutting off the text on left. And it shows a wide amount of white space on the right.
I am using Safari on the iPod.
How can I correct this? How will my site look when it loads to the final web host?

It has scrolling effects. I want to create one site that can be viewed on all sizes. I know it won't pinch to zoom on small devices. It displays OK on a computer and iPad using Safari, Firefox and Chrome.
Any comments welcome. This is driving me crazy.

This further defines the problem: What I found on iPad & iPod, was that the site initially loads fine using the link: jeannordstrom-landscape.businesscatalyst.com. However, if I use the nav bar to navigate to another section, like contacts. Then after I am there, I press the reload page icon on the browser, I get a hiccup. The nav bar then will not take me back up or anywhere. It becomes disabled. And the page appears flush left with text cut off. And there's white space on the right. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

See if either of the two options that I've suggested in your other thread would work for you.

Scroll over highlight function not working on custom nav bar links

Hi - I've created a custom nav bar in iWeb (www.HollywoodRC.com). I have it set up so that the text highlights when scrolled over. This function works in iWeb but does not work on my published site in Safari; however, works in my published site on IE. Any ideas on how to get the scroll over highlight to work on my published safari site? All the links work properly.

No. Things must have changed. I created a hyperlink with a non web safe font, LedgerD, added a drop shadow and published. I also put the same link in a shape. You can see them in this test page: Page-1 . The two items are image files but they do not contain the link text. Very strange. The hyperlink text can't be selected nor dragged to the desktop like other links, like the Click to Play links on the page, however.
However, I don't know how IE will handle it. According to this IE emulator site, http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/, IE can see the drop shadow. But it doesn't tell us how the links will work.

Site with div newbee question - content is not showing rights

However as soon as I am putting content into my editable div (content) - the design goes funny. I am sure there is something stupid that I made wrong.

However looking at your css you should never set a height on a <div> unless you actually know what height it is going to be and you will only ever know that on 2 ocassions:
1) If only an image/s is in the <div>
2) When you specifically set the height of a <div> for a scrolling area.
I would remove any height from the <divs> where they not needed. Setting height for <divs> will generally pose you a nightmare as you can never keep track of them. Building for the web is ALL to do with mathematics and calculations. If you are out by the slightest, only has to be a pixel, then you could find yourself in all sorts of problems.

Downloading Garage Band for iPod Touch 4g with 8gb, 1.1gb left, but still wont download, despite GarageBand needing ~510mb

When I purchased and try to download Garageband for my ipod touch with 1.1gb left, it says that there isnt enough memory, despite the app store saying it requires ~510MB. What can I do to resolve this?

You need to delete some items from the iPod. Yu can also convert your music to 128 kbps ACC via iTunes on the computer. The 510 mb is the compressed file size and it requires at least that much more to extract and install the app.

Sites are not where they used to be in DW, nav bar problem

Hi everyone
I hope its ok to post 2 probs in one post but they might be related?, first off I have cs4 trial and am using dreamweaver, I had not opened the program for a week or so and when I do my site files have changed/moved, I used to have the files panel on the right and the main folder was 'sites' then I could click it and sellect the site I wanted to work on, now I have 'computer' or 'mac hard drive' icons in the heading of files window, i then have to go all through the list of hd, users, my name, sites, then the site folder I need, then when I save files or want to edit a button etc I have to search for it rather than just select it in CW and click the edit in fireworks button which before would automaticaly open FW when clicked.
Second problem is with the editing buttons in FWs, when I click 'edit in fireworks' button I have to search for the nav button png file, then I try to edit inFWs but have problems, if I test in FWs screen it works ok, (I have 5 buttons with numbers 1-5 then when moused over the number changes to name of page) when then send back to DW it does not work, I get 1-4 working ok but 5 does not changed when moused over, the number just moves a little!
I hope this all makes sense.

the problem seems that I only have the one site in the dropdown list, before this I had a sites folder in the list and in that folder I had all my sites that I had worked on, none of them appear now ! but when using finder I still have the sites folder and all the sites in it as before.
It's not possible to have 'nested' site definitions (thus a folder that you must open to see your other sites). The folders that you see in my image each represent the local root folder of a different defined site - in this case there are only two sites shown (sas-safaris and Testing). The rest of the items in the image that I show are NOT sites - they are just disks that are also 'connected' to this Mac.
It seems that you have lost your site definitions - a situation that is not uncommon with DW, especially the earlier versions. You will just have to recreate the definitions to once again point into your local root folder, and to contain the appropriate FTP information.

I have an iPhone 4s with over a gig left for space, but it will not sync music from iTunes to my phone. I select 'sync,' it goes through the six steps and is completed, yet no new music is added to my iPhone. Any help is very much appreciated!

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

I'm trying to get a nav bar that is positioned in the middle of a page to "dock" with the top of the browser when it is scrolled to, and undock when the browser is scrolled back up past it.
An example of this can be seen on http://lesscss.org.
Is there any way to do this in Muse?

I am familiar with the pinning feature.
I would like the user to be able to scroll down the page and once the nav bar that was once in the middle of the page is at the top, for it to dock or pin then. And when the user scrolls back to the top the nav bar will return to the middle of the page.
If you wouldn't mind taking a closer look at http://lesscss.org there is an example of exactly what I am talking about. The navigation bar is in the middle of the page and it doesn't pin until the user scrolls to the top.

Can someone direct me to some good documentation to learn how to design a page to have a fixed nav bar, fixed sidebar and main content that scrolls?

I just wanna buy a new iOS device and I'm confused between the iPod touch 5th generation, iPhone 4s 8GB, iPad 4th generation 16GB and iPad mini with the retina display 16GB model. Please help me figure out.

I have an iPhone 4s 16GB Model and I've been using it for about more than an year now. The reason I wanna get a new iOS device is because my 4s has got lots of scratches now and it's ambient light sensor seems not to work properly. Apparently, another reason is that the iLife and iWork suit are not free for me as my device is older and new devices get those softwares for free.
I thought to go with a new iPhone 4s again but the problem is that new 4s come with only 8GB of storage and they don't support AirDrop. So next, I thought to go with an iPod touch 5th gen because of its jaw-dropping design, bigger screen, more storage and AirDrop support. Because iPod touch is phone-less iPhone and they come at affordable price, I can also buy any cheap cell phone like moto e to replace my current iPhone 4S.
Another options that I thought a little bit on, is iPad 4th Gen and iPad mini with Retina display 16GB.
Now, should I just stick with my current 16GB iPhone 4s, or get a new one.
Or should I buy an iPod touch 5th gen and moto e (since iPod can't make phone calls)
Or should I go with one of the two iPad models that I aforementioned.

They're a lot more expensive, but Griffin has some of their 'survivor' cases with sealed ports, so you could cover up the ones you don't need.
If best buy isn't an option for you, at least there's a manufacturer to look for.

Ipad 4 with iOS 8: photos are scrolling slowly

I updated my ipad 4 with 64gb on Thursday. It seems to work fine except for the Photos app. When I import pictures onto the iPad from my sd card or take pictures with the ipad, scrolling through them has become very slow. I have to swipe on a picture usually 8-10 times before I get it to swipe to the next picture. Sometimes, I get a partial swipe...where half of each picture will get stuck on the screen for a few seconds. I'm also getting a lot pixelation when I initially swipe to a picture. In about 5-8 second, the picture will become perfectly clear. And...it now seems that I cannot upload a screen shot, from the ipad, of the half of one picture and half of the other.

Don't do it. I updated my iPod touch 5th Generation to ios 8.0.2 and it will keep dropping wifi, and safari has lots of bugs. I suggest waiting to 8.0.3 where we shall see if the update fixes wifi issues for real.

To get that much storage, you need to look to professional online services. Pro-level hosting accounts may offer you that much (well, many will offer as much storage as you are prepared to pay for), or Amazon professional cloud services. You could also store the files on a home machine and pay for a professional hosting service so you could stream them over your own account (assuming your ISP connection and agreement allows for the bandwidth used). You would still need to deal with the issue of finding an app for the iPad that supported avi streaming.

Delete the music in your iTunes library, then go to iTunes store, Quick Link, 'Purchased' to redownload again.
