On Mac OS X where does Firefox keep these following files?

Where are these files kept?
Temporary Internet Files?
Cookies?
Browser history?
Cache?

Select a profile from
'''~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/'''
and then all your cached information should be in your '''Cache''' folder.
You can also determine your cache location by navigating to '''about:cache'''
Select a profile from
'''~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/'''
and in this there are files called '''cookies.sqlite''' (cookies) and '''places.sqlite''' (browsing history).

  • Where does WL keep my Java files that it creates from JSPs?

    Hi,
I'm using WL 9.2.2 on Solaris 9 (JDK 1.5). When WL builds a JSP page, it presumably converts those JSP pages to Java files before compiling them. Where does it keep those Java files? I'm having a hard time figuring out where my NullPointerException is occurring ...

It deletes them by default. If you want to preserve them, set the "keepgenerated" and "working-dir" (this one so you don't have to hunt for them) elements in the "jsp-descriptor" element in the weblogic.xml file.

  • Wheres does imovie keep my exported files?

I recently finished edited my footage on imovie within ipad and as I upload it to youtube, its does fine on the first two but then on the third it says not enough space.  So once I connected my ipad to my computer it seems the ipads been making files of the project when i upload them to youtube and thus filling up my ipad to the point where I can't upload anymore.  Suggestions on how to delete the youtube project files?

  • Where does Firefox save UserID for Verizon Mail?

I use Verizon Mail with Firefox. The User ID
for verizon mail is one's email address. However,
if you mistakenly type something else other than
the correct User ID in the box, the computer
dutifully remembers it along with the correct
one! Where does Firefox save these User IDs
for Verizon Mail so that I can kill the incorrect
    ones?

Almost. You have to highlite the offending entry
and then HOLD down the Shift Key and then
hit the Delete Key. I found this answer that
works by searching on the web which led me
back to this site. The original posted question
was stated somewhat differently than mine.

  • Where does Lightroom keep my photos?

I always import my photos from my CF card into my USB external hard drive. When I view my hard drive, Finder shows all my photos and I always thought that's where my pictures were.
Then, I unplugged my laptop, took it to another location, and run Lightroom on battery. Wait a minute, all the photos I thought were on the USB external hard drive which is now disconnected showed up and play perfectly in slide show.
I went Finder through every file in the Macintosh HD, I can't see a single photo, yet Lightroom is definitely keeping a copy of it somewhere in the Mac HD.
    My questions are:
    (1) Where does Lightroom hide these photos?
    (2) How does this impact my Macintosh HD storage capacity?
    (3) How can I remove these photos from the Macintosh HD so that if I lost my Macbook Pro, the thief cannot steal my photos.
    Please help.
    Thank you all in advance.
    Eddie

What you are seeing are the previews that Lr generates for every image that gets imported.
    (1) These previews are not hidden but are in the same directory as the Lr database. Read more here:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=333660
    (2) Lr previews -- depending on what size you generate and the number of images imported -- can consume a lot of space. But disk is cheap.
    (3) Paranoia is no reason to delete the previews. Don't lose your laptop!

  • Where does firefox cache the form parameters to be used in the reload event of a page that was the resposne of a HTTP POST request?

Suppose there is form in a web page and it submits data in HTTP POST method. After submitting the form, if I reload the page [either by the refresh button or back button; whichever applicable], firefox asks permission to resend the form data by saying "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action...". Now if the user clicks on the resend, firefox resubmits the form data.
So where does firefox store this from data for such future resending/resubmission?
Is it possible to retrieve/manipulate those stored form data?

I thought I'd tried that, as tried lots of other things like encoding URL, but obviously not as this works.
    Thanks for the quick reply.

  • Where on Windows hard drive does Firefox temporarily store PDF files that I open from websites when I have Adobe Reader configured as the default PDF reader?

I have Windows 7 and Firefox 19.0.2. I see that every time I open a PDF file from a website, it prompts me to either save the file or open it with a program (defaults to Adobe Acrobat Reader). If it is the same file name that I keep opening up over and over, it appends an incremental number to the end of the file name. To me this implies that it is download the file to a temporary location and then opening it in Adobe Reader. Where is Firefox storing these files and how can I be sure that they are being deleted regularly? I don't want these files to be kept on my local hard drive after I close the file in Adobe Acrobat.

Files that you choose to open with an external program are saved in your temporary folder. To open it, click the Windows logo orb on the taskbar, type '''%TEMP%''' in the search box, then press Enter.<br>
You can clean out temporary files in Windows using the Disk Cleanup utility. The program can also be scheduled to perform cleaning tasks automatically without prompting.

That shouldn't be happening. If you try to download a file that's already in your temporary folder, it should simply open instead of being downloaded again.<br>
I don't know what could be causing it though. First, try upgrading to the latest version of Firefox. If nothing else, your system will no longer be vulnerable to the security holes in the version you're using.

Where does FireFox get the default value of a preference from. What is the format of the file that has the default value?. I need the actual default value for a particualr preference.
About:config does show some default values but I need the source from which about:config picks up the default value.

Why does Firefox keep hanging, crashing, sulking, dying when internet connection behaves? Once it renders the page it should forget about the page. Why does it behave when some link is clicked when there is no internet? It should just say internet not available or some crap. Why die, sulk, crash?? I don't get it! 3 series was much much much better!

I should add, I've re-downloaded Firefox, but that doesn't look like it has helped any. Still get seemingly inexplicable crashes.

You need Flash Player or DivX Player. Both of these programs are used everywhere online; their size is small and will not harm your computer. You should download them from here:

Firefox saves downloads to wherever you specify. Check your settings in Tools > Options > General, Download section. If you have it set to "Always ask me where to save files", then only you know where they were saved.

Where does Mail keep its hidden cache of auto-complete email addresses.  I am plagued with an incorrect email address I can't get rid of.  Have made sure it's deleted from Contacts and made sure it's deleted from "Previous Recipients" list in Mail.  But it still keeps reappearing ... obviously a secret cache file hidden somewhere?

Autocomplete has nothing to do with this problem.
From the Mail menu bar, select
              Window ▹ Connection Doctor
Look for a disused SMTP (outgoing mail) account in the window that opens. Double-click it. Another window will open, showing a list of all the outgoing mail accounts. The unwanted one will be selected. Click the minus-sign button to delete it, then click OK.
If there's more than one unwanted account, repeat.

  • Where does Firefox cache videos? (I checked the Cache foler. Not there)

The FireFox' disk cache foler is set to ''D:\Cache'' (I set it so from about:config).
I cleared the disk cache, watched a YouTube video (almost 2 minute long), then looked into ''D:\Cache''. But the video I had watched was not there! (I found two .SWF files. But their sizes were smaller than 250K. And, stand-alone SWF players couldn't play them. Therefore, they can't be YouTube videos.)
So, where does Firefox cache videos?

Firefox doesn't cache videos on disk. The Flash player that plays the videos is in the cache, but the videos are streamed and not saved. They may be kept in the memory cache during the play.
You can check the cache on the about:cache page.
