On Music Player songs are duplicated. This happens second time for me. It's very annoying and also it's unnecessarily occupying the memory
Recovery:
Have delete all the songs and recopy it

using windows explorer, remove all files that are not songs.
especially the BBThumb.*** files. They are hidden so you may need to deactivate the "hide system files" options in the windows explorer.
basically it is the indexation file. Remove it, then your blackberry will index it again.

This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music. See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled. This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

My songs are duplicated i itunes but if i remove one entry, the other won't play anymore...what do i do?

After my friend transferred my songs to my new laptop, i have installed itunes. First i had 2 or 3 entries of the same song, because i had a music files (mostly
mp3), and the 2 entries were from Itunes music files. One entry played, the other wouldn't (exclamation point). As i have a couple thousand songs, i decided to consolidate into Itunes Media, thinking i could then uninstall Itunes, Reinstall it and delete my Itunes music folder.
But it probably was the wrong way to go. Now I have an Itunes media folder and an Itunes music folder. If i delete one of them from my computer, itunes says it cannot find the track. But the problem is now it takes twice as much space on my computer and last but not least, almost every song is duplicated in Itunes.
If I delete one of the two entries, the song won't play (exclamation point again). it's like each file of the song exist in his own file, but cannot play if the other version of the song isn't there.
So i'm stuck with a duplicated list of songs in Itunes and 30 Go of songs on my laptop...<
any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would guess that if they both point to the same file and you delete one of them, you have deleted the file. Therefore it is no longer there to be played.
I'm not really sure how you got into this situation. I'm also not sure if you have multiple copies of the same songs on your drive or just multiple entries in the library. It sounds like you haven't gotten very far, that you have not yet set up playlists that you would be heartbroken to lose. If you have room on your drive, I might suggest closing iTunes, renaming both of those media folders, then restarting iTunes and creating a brand new library. I would set iTunes to copy media files to the library when it imports them so that it all gets consolidated. I would add the music folder (which is probably a sub-folder of those other folders) from one of your two existing folders and see what happens. Then I'd add the other.
As a normal precaution, I highly recommend backing up your two music folders before starting this.
When all is done and you are happy, you should be able to delete the older folders. This is the step that begs for a backup. First, though, I'd change the names of the two older folders again and see if iTunes plays your music. If not, it didn't make a copy and it's still looking in the old folders. You might want keep them around for a while and only delete them when you need drive space. I am loathe to delete anything unnecessarily, just in case there is a problem.
I'm not a Windows user so I can't help with the details on how to do this on a PC.

C5 music player song cover

Hi, I tranferred my songs (with cover) via bluetooth and pcsuite to my C5 but I cannot understand why on certain songs the cover is visible and on others no.
I opened the song with NO cover visible on C5 with pcsuite VLC mp3 reader and the cover exists BUT the phone doesn't show it.
More: on the songs with VISIBLE cover if I open properties the song on which the cover is shown there is a preview, in the others no but there is the cover as I said before.
It seems that the phone chooses random wich songs should have cover and whish not.

Yes Playlists could be saved on C5, When you open music player>playlist>you'll get there "Recently Played" Recently Added" "most played" these are preset playlists. And you can create custom playlists here. and that playlist will be saved unless you want to delete it yourself.

Songs are duplicated and one won't work

I bought my first Apple product: iPod Touch 64 and I use Windows Vista on a HP computer. In iTunes when I click on an album the songs are listed twice and one of the copies gives an error message *"The song __ could not be used because the original file could not be found."* How do I fix this? I have 49 GB of music. Also iTunes is not recognizing my songs that are in WMA format- is this normal?

The error is caused becuase there was a prevous copy of that file at the old location and iTunes is looking for the same file on both locations. If one of the two files for that song work, simply delete the non-working one from your iTunes library and that should fix the problem.
As for the WMA format, iTunes- being an apple product- uses a different format (usually AAC). But as it is an apple product and it feels the need to be better than any microsoft version, iTunes will convert it for you if the file is an unprotected WMA file, protected WMA files cannot be converted by iTunes. First you must have Windows Media Player 9 or later installed on your pc. Then, to convert the file simply drag and drop it into you iTunes library and iTunes will do the rest.

can anyone help me? i'm having trouble with updating my songs into the library as the songs are all duplicated and many of them has exclamation marks at the front which says that the original source is missing and the songs therefore are lost! i use a PC, but hardly think that is the reason and now i have a library full of songs in at least three copies and don't know where it went wrong! i think i can't organise my folders properly but now i don't know how to fix it! please, someone help.

When i download an album from a cd the songs are duplicated on the album in my computer

I Have windows xp I don't know if that makes a difference. When I download a cd on to my computer in to i tuned the song tracks are duplicated in the album.. I'm new to I Tunes. Thanks for any help

That is how it works. Photos that you sync from your computer can't be deleted directly in the Photos app on your iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync - so you are effectively saying replace the folder/album that you've just synced with the second folder/album, you need to select and sync all the photos that you want from your computer in one go.

PS4 Media/Music player song order Alphabetical only?

Is there any way (besides going back and creating individual playlists for every single album) to get the PS4 USB music player or the new Media player to play musc files in album track order rather than alphabetical order? Virtually every MP3 player I've ever used on other consoles, PCs, and hand-held/moblie devices can do this. Album track order has been standardized since the beginning of MP3 technology. Am I missing something?

PS3 never got Sorting Via Meta data either...IF you copied a file from USB the meta data is not even read only the file names are... You had to get a NAS / media server to copy the meta data with the File ... So don't expect any rush... those Who had A PS3 will off course still be ripping music with the TRACK number in the File name... Meta data on Applications will be displayed so no Track name will show on PC but the Raw files are still numbered in order... Theres a reason why Amazon still sell digital album music with the Track number at the front of thefile name still...

Why are songs that are being imported from a music cd in random numerical order? Why are songs from a previous import suddenly being duplicated on the album list?

OK, I am really glad I do not have to look you guys in the eye cause I have the answer...kinda. I looked at iTunes again and clicked the first column and it turned to a small arrow (where before it was nothing)and then the order was correct. When it first appeared it was in no order I could tell, not even backwards.
I put in the data CD, same thing ...no arrow at top of first column and after I clicked the top of first column, songs went into playlist order and arrow appeared.
Now I noticed everytime I eject the CD and insert it again, it goes out of order again. What am I missing?

I'm losing Music! - songs are dupicating and overriding

I noticed when I play a song it is duplicating the song and erasing the next song on the list. What is going on? Is this a virus? I'm still running version 6.0.5.20 so this is not a kink in the newer version.

ITunes 11 - all my songs have duplicated? Help!!

I am doing my friends iTunes on their brand new laptop. I downloaded iTunes 11, and copied the music from my harddrive into the 'Automatically add to iTunes" folder.
The only issue I have is that all songs are duplicated!?
When I go to the path name for the duplicated songs, it is exactly the same - however only appears once on my laptop folder.
I have tried unchecking "Show iTunes in the cloud purchases" but this doesn't help.
Any suggestions?

All my songs are duplicates on my new computer????

I recently upgraded to a new computer (HP Windows XP) from an older one (Dell Windows 2000). I moved all of my music files onto an external hard drive and deauthorized my old computer.
I then moved all of the "My Music" folder, including the "Sounds" folder, into the "My Music" folder on the new computer.
I installed ITunes and proceeded with set-up and authorization. Everything works fine, except...my library is now twice as big as it was before and all of my songs are duplicated. This amounts to about 8000 extra songs and 41 GB of space (if it is really taking up double space or just showing that in Itunes). It doesn't appear that the files themselves are duplicatedi in the "My Music" folder.
I do remember agreeing to let ITunes "consolidate" my song files during the setup. Could this have caused it?
Either way, is there a way to clean up the Library, other than deleting duplicates by hand?
I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail...
Any help is appreciated?

Do this:
1st, delete library file in:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Music\iTunes
wherever that is on your 2000 machine.
If that doesn't work:
delete all songs in iTunes (do not say to delete files) and then re import.
If that also fails, uninstall, remove library file, re-start, delete: C:\Program Files\iTunes folder (except for your music), go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users then open Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\and delete SC Info folder.
Re install
Re import files via iTunes

Unable to change which song are imported on to ipod or create playlists

I've just bought new ipod nano 4th gen. and downloaded itunes 9 I can play songs that are in my itunes library, and itunes has synced as many songs as it can over to my ipod. However, when I click on my ipod music, the songs are all in grey. I'm not able to play, remove or drag them anywhere. I cannot drag songs from my itunes library into my ipod, nor can i create playlists on my ipod as the option is not available.
As it is a new ipod, it would be useful for me to know if it's the ipod or itunes that is the problem. If it is the ipod then I can send it back. Any help would be appreciated

The songs are greyed out, because you probably have your iPod set up to "automatically" sync music. In order to be able to select, play, drag to and from, through your computer, you will have to set it up to "manually manage music and videos" from under the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes when its hooked up.

Itunes seems to be unable to locate original file to play songs. Songs are in the itunes media file and playable direct from file. Preferences/advance file location is correct. Some files are playing and others aren't with no obvious pattern.

I have solved the problem. i think when I moved the media file back out of public to my account, I put it back into the wrong place and ended up with a media file inside a media file, inside another media file!! So I moved it again and fixed!! Now I just need to work out why i can't share with another account user of same computor.
