"On My Device" music display

Since upgrading to iTunes 12 on Yosemite I can't seem to manually manage music on my phone properly anymore ("Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically" is ticked in iTunes preferences).
When clicking on my phone and clicking on Music under "On My Device" I see all the tracks in a list view sorted by Title. I'd expect to be able to click on the bar at the top to sort by any of the other fields, but it does nothing (I want to sort by album so I can delete a whole one). Which brings me on to my second question - how do you delete files? I've tried right-clicking but there's no delete option and pressing delete but nothing happens.

Wireless PC to TV connectivity is possible. Computer and TV should be wireless (widi) capable. There are wired options as described in the previous answers such as HDMI cables. For wireless you can get a widi adapter that connects to the router. Then check to see if your computer has wireless capability (widi) Intel option by typing in the search programs and files " wifi". If so, follow the instructions on your computer intel wireless option to start your wireless connection and make sure your intel is enabled. Next purchase always ask about wireless capability on any TV/PC/IPAD/Printer. It beats getting stuck with old sale items.

On My Device - Music displays duplicates and songs that are not on my iPhone

When I click on "iPhone", then On My Device -> Music, it doesn't show what's on my iPhone. It shows duplicates and some songs that aren't even on it. What gives? I clicked "Add To" because I thought I could transfer songs to my iPhone that way but I really don't understand this screen and what it does. Anyone know, and why it displays an incorrect list?

I figured it out. After I enabled "Manually manage music and videos" I could delete songs via that list. I guess I just found a bug because it was showing all wrong when I didn't have that option enabled, and I clicked "Add To...".

Organize columns of device music playlist in iTunes

I am having trouble alphabetizing the music playlist that is in my device in iTunes. I would like the columns in a particular order (Name, Artist, Time, Year, etc...). I would also like to specify the width of the columns. I would like the songs sorted alphabetically by artist. The music playlist in the library is fine; it's the device music playlist that I need to organize. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Mark

Are you talking about the "Music" list that appears under the device name in iTunes when the device is connected? That displays with exactly the same fields in the same order and with the same widths that the main Music view is set to.
You cannot adjust the fields in that view, but if you go back to the main Music view and change fields or widths, the device Music list will inherit the same changes.
Note added: I played around a little more, and what I just wrote does not hold up. The fields in the device Music view are indeed not adjudstable, but they do not necessarily follow the main Music view. So, not clear whether there is a way to change them.

that is odd! that should not be happening.
Are you syncing your songs right off of itunes itself? because it should be syncing over to the ipod however it is listed in itunes.

Device Manager displayed " Mass Storage Controller (Code 28)"

I am using AMD 64 x2 3800+ processor. MSI mortherboard K8N Diamond. Graphic cards, two units, Geforce GTX6600GT. I am running on Window XP SP2. I have also updated the AMD latest drivers.
I noticed each time I log on the computer, the computer would prompt "New Mass Storage Hardware Found" and prompt the wizard to install new found hardware.
I went to device manager and noticed the device status display "This drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28). I have also carry out all the steps as suggested from the device manager menu. Mass Storage Controller location is: PCI Slot 9 (PCI 3, device 0, function 0 is displayed at the Mass Storage Controller Display. The device Instance ID display "PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3132&SUBSYS_710A1462&REV_01\4&14AECDBO&0&0060.
Try update driver option but to no success. Have all the driver systems (in the CD) that came together with the system installed as well. Again to no success in resoluting the problem.
To my horror after installing the drivers that I have downloaded from MSI website for the said board.
I notice the Virtual drive program failed to initialize.and the following messages were displayed during the installation of the website drivers for the said mortherboard:

Mass Storage Controller
An error occured during the installation of the device. The name is already in use as either a service or a service display name.
Can someone please help me to resolve this problem? Any suggestion or advise would be sincerelt appreciated.

I manage to remove the yellow exclamation mark from the hardware, device manager by setting the Integrated Peripherals on Board Sil3132 mode from Sata to Raid.
The Sata and Raid controllers is displayed and upon opening it up further, I noticed the following controllers are displayed:
1 ) FarStone CDAWDM2001 SCSI Host Adapter.
2) Silicon Image SIL3132 SataRaid Controller.
Do you think I have set the right thing? Your kind opinion on this. I am using BIOS version used is 1.A

I have bought full access to it.

1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
3. Check the USB cable
4 Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job
7. Check for third-party software conflicts.

Where can I get an iPad template since Device Central displays none?

I notice a few others having this problem (not able to access iPad templates). So far, I can't see anyone on this forum able to solve the mystery. What's the go? Regardless of which program I have open in my CS4 suite, Device Central displays no Apple devices whatsoever.

In Device Central CS4 there aren't any Apple profiles, for that you will require CS5.

Appearane of 'Music' functions (I>> > II <<I, plus volume slider) on the lock/log in screen (when first turning on the iPhone) thus far seems without pattern, i.e. regardless of which if any applications are up in the background, and indeed even when all have been quit.
All visual aspects of 'Music' appear normal after launch including the title scroll across the top in vertical mode. However, while pressing play (>) converts the play (>) icon to pause (II), selected song does not play and the elapsed time bar (upper end between the track count and the repeat/shuffle icons) remains stationary at 0:00 or at any point to which it is dragged. When using home sharing this same problem persists regardless of what output is selected.
Hope that may prompt a thought somewhere.

Changing info on songs in your Device Music folder...

I have a bunch of music in my music library (933 songs) 886 of which are on my iPhone 4, in the music folder/area under "Devices"
After connecting my iphone today to hopefully add more music, I synched and detached my iPhone and noticed my iPhone now only had 455 songs. The other 330 or so, just randomly disapeared. I don't know how or why, they just vanished. When I click on one of them in my iPhone device music section, they have a exclamation point and you cannot do anything to interact with them. You cannot "Find location" or anything like that. It is simply, a useless thing.
Now can someone please tell me what happened, and why it is not playing in my device music folder where it shows it being, or why it is gone from my phone.

Are all the tracks present in the library? If so backup the device and then immediately restore it from the backup.

Device music showing up but not actually there

So, I use to have 780 or so songs on my iPhone, and had 2 gigs or so left of space. All the songs were added by me personally over time, dragged over from a folder on my desktop. Last night out of no where, idk what I did, I didn't synch a new playlist, but all of a sudden all these exclamation points are coming up next to 90% of the songs in the Device "Music" folder in iTunes. It won't let me play or interact with the songs. And when I synch, it says it synched all the music and that there is 750 some songs on my Device, but then when I eject it and go into the music, there is only 120.

In addition, when I click on the songs to play them in the device music folder. They get an exclamation point next to them, similar to the iTunes library one when a song cannot be found, however, when I double click IT DOES NOT ask me to locate the song. It does nothing.

This is driving me nuts and due to the fact that I have not been able to find an iTunes help # to call and get this sorted out. I really have no idea how to fix this and don't know who to ask.

Music display problems

I had updated my ipod touch 5 to iso 7, but when I try to sync new music from my computer, it displayed in a new category, like if a name of the song is :"Secret Base君がくれたもの" and it won't display in the category "S", instead it created a new "S" category after the category "Z", and it won't automatically play if I choose "ramdomly play music", if I click it it will play but it never, ever play once if I just use the ramdom playing music option. Can someone help???? I'm really getting annoying with this.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Connecting devices for display using Thunderbolt to Mini-DVI

Hello.
Background
I purchased an Apple Thunderbolt Display, but it will not arrive for 6 weeks. So I want to determine if there's a solution that will allow me to connect a Mac mini to an older iMac (details of both below) until the display arrives.
Device details
iMac, Mid-2007 (model ID: iMac7,1), which includes a Mini-DVI port
Mac mini, Mid-2011/server (model ID: Macmini5,3), which includes a Thunderbolt port
Question
Since devices don't have similar ports, is there a way to connect the two so that I can I use the iMac as a display for the Mac mini? Specifically, is there a cable or a cable and adapter together that can make this work?
Alternatively, are there any other solutions?

I do not believe your model supports using the monitor as an external display. This was a feature introduced only in the recent iMac models.

How do I change the way music displays podcasts on my ipad 2?

On my iPod nano, iPhone, iMac the podcasts are listed with the most recent ones at the top. On my new iPad 2 the oldest ones are listed at the top. How do I change the display settings to show the most recent ones first?
2) If I go to check my email when I'm listening to something, when I go back to the music app it shows the top of the list again, instead of showing where I was. Frustrating!!
3) Usually the menu at the bottom of the music app can be customized (for example I want "podcasts" to be one of the choices instead of "songs"). Is there any way to change this?

I dragged/dropped music to the phone (manually managed) and the music shows up "on the phone" while iTunes is open. It has an artist and album name is also not part of compilation.
The music won't display on the phone once I disconnect iTunes. I can even PLAY the music directly from the phone through iTunes - so it's on there somewhere....
I am NOT syncing over wi-fi and wi-fi is disabled....

BUT the artist/album appear as "unknown" even though in iTunes they are named and display as such....
