Now my phone is in restore mode and I don't know what to do. I don't want to proceed and loose these very important photos of family. What do I do to get it out of restore mode? My phone will not allow me to do anything to it at this point. I have the itunes downloaded on the laptop now. When I push the button for the phone it just shows Itunes and plug. I can't even call or open phone up.

Using a computer, other than the one you have regularily been Syncing and Backing up to, was the begining of your issue.

Just found my answer. Worked perfectly. Instructions very clear.

try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. u shouldnt need to install anything else but the app itself to get it running. if that doesnt work then update ur software and see if that works.

I am having the same problem. I even changed my password and updated all of my security information. Now it just gives me an error and retry message, which of course also does not work. Went to support and was going to open a chat (seemed the simpler option) and received a message that my support has expired for this serial number unless I want to pay $29.00. Due to the kind of plug used the US power cord is rated at the 125v value.. and legally we cannot advise you to use on higher voltages.. although I have never had issues in Australia.. 240v.
But adapters from your Euro power plug to US are generally ugly .. unsightly things.. and often sit high above the socket and are none too stable.. I agree with Bob.. just go out and buy a standard figure 8 power cord.. check with Apple in Italy for a white one.. if you are going to have it on show.. black are far more common. Or even check ebay for a standard power Apple power cord as a number of items they sell use the figure8 socket.

Hey, problem solved. One of the drives was faulty. I erased the 2nd drive (which was showing up as the degraded raid slice), deleted the RAID set and restored the 2nd drive from a back-up disk image. After that, when I booted using 'option' I was presented with two boot disks but only one that worked. And when it did boot up only the reformatted disk was showing in Diskutil so I'm guessing the second one is knackered. With it still in place the server still wouldn't boot up from a full shutdown, but the moment it was removed it booted up no probs. Wakes up from sleep as well so it seems sorted.
So now just need to decide whether I'll bother with replacing the second drive or just use an external back-up. I have just bought a 1TB drive to back up to so will probably just go with that.
Btw, is there anyway I can test the drive I removed to see if can be saved?
