Have you tried to update or uninstall/reinstall the SDCard reader drivers? I've read that the uninstall/reinstall step will sometimes work on some problem devices.
You have run the AppleSoftwareUpdate while in Windows and the Mac side right? Sorry, had to ask.
Have you done a search on the 'net or Microsoft for the error (code 10)?
You can try to reload the BootCamp drivers again manually and see if that will work, but it may mess with your sound again. (or get it to work the first time?)

Fans revving up on MBP after installing Firewire audio card

Ok, so I finally upgraded my external USB sound card with the Profire 610 firewire unit from M-Audio.
While I am very impressed with the sound, I am not very impressed with what seems like erratic behavioiur from the fans on my MacBook Pro (mid 2010 - i5 processor, 2.4GHz, 4GB memory).
Even while just playing back sound files from the Finder, the fans rev up from the usual 2000RPM (idle) to about 2500RPM. iStat is showing between 0 and 1 percent total CPU activity, so this is making no sense at all.
I seem to remember reading about people having trouble with firewire sound cards on their 2008 (I think) models of the MBP, but, as far as I can tell, the problem is still real.
Are there any solutions? Do I need to go back to USB again? I'm pretty astonished by this, as I was always under the impression that going the firewire route would mean less work for the CPU than what's the case with USB, but as of right now that doesn't seem to be case at all.
I have connected external power to the Profire 610 just to make sure, but it doesn't seem to matter - it will still affect the fan speed.
Also: Just tried previewing a file from the file dialogue box in Wave Editor.
Playing through the Profire 610 results in the fans gearing up to 3500RPM - and staying there. Wave Editor is the only software running.
I switch to internal sound, but do not turn off the Profire. The fans stay at 3500RPM while previewing.
I turn OFF the Profire 610 and continue playback through internal sound card. Result? The fans slow down to about 2200RPM ...
So, amazingly, the firewire card results in the fans running about 1300RPM faster than when it's turned off. I never experienced anything like this with the USB card.

It sounds a lot like the behavior one see's on a MacPro with a internal card installed.
My suggestion is to install the free smcFanControl program and set the minimum fan speeds higher and just below audio level you can stand.
What this will do is keep the processors cooler and less likely to cause the fan rev spiking and annoyance.

I'm struggling to get an answer on this anywhere... I have Logic Pro running 5.1 Surround Mixes on a g5, using a Metric Halo Mobile IO Firewire audio interface - its 6 analog outs are connected to a M Audio LX4 powered surround system. It all works great - until... the problem is when I need to listen to DVDs with 5.1 soundtracks (for reference), or even HD trailers (with 5.1 soundtracks). With the Mobile IO selected as audio interface, DVDs only play in stereo. I think this is because the 5.1 soundtrack is only output thru the optical out - but connecting the optical out to the Mobile IO and selecting 'Digital out' on the g5 brings silence.. Im told this is because the MIO's optical in wont decode 5.1. I'm interested to hear from anyone with a Pro Audio interface - like a MOTU etc - who needs to switch between mixing their own music in 5.1 and then listening to DVDs in 5.1.. I cant be the first, surely?
Plantwebguy said he solved his issue with VLC. Do we know if VLC willl decode 5.1 and then output it to the Interface via Firewire? I've searched the net for a Pro Audio interface with (1) 6 analog outs & mic inputs etc (2) firewire connection and (3) optical in that reads AC3/5.1 etc (rather than just ADAT).... nada. Sorry to be long-winded but I cant get a solution anywhere..

Power cycle the cable modem.. you may try leaving it off 5min.. might be enough.. sometimes you need 15min or even longer.. Followed by power cycle of the AE.
Nothing else should be connected to the modem.. except the router that will get the public IP as they only hand out ONE>

If wjosten's tip doesn't work try plugging it into a USB charger (not through your computer), wait about 30 seconds and it should come on. If it doesn't remove the cord from the phone and keep trying this. I've had this same issue and found a combination of the reset & charging cable tends to work. Sometimes it takes about 5 minutes for the phone to respond.

Help me!:audio keeps dropping out and coming back in while importing clips

While importing from my camera (brand new Canon Xl-2) to imovie, the audio from the tape keeps dropping out and coming back in for some reason.This happens with all my tapes. I've tried using a head cleaner and that didn't help. I'm using a Maxtor external hard drive to save the project on. The project itself is kind of big (about 80 GB) Can imovie support projects that large? Could this be a problem with my processor?
I'm just frustrated beyond belief right now. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

- cheque that nothing else is taking resourses from the job (energy saver,
screensaver, File Vault etc.)
- I would move material to my ext hd so that I got > 80Gb free (for a 80Gb
project)
- nothing else connected than my Mac + Camera and import.

AE and Computer- Audio dropping out and stuttering issues

I recently bought an Airport Express 2 weeks ago. I hooked the unit up in my bedroom via ethernet(roaming) method. I use Airplay and turn on Computer and Airport Express to play both in my living room and my bedroom at the same time. Problem is I'm noticing my iTunes in my living room exhibits some stuttering during songs or the audio will start to drop out intermittently and sometimes shuts off completely but the Airport Express is still playing in my bedroom without issue. I've tried turing off the wireless but it doesn't do anything. When I turn off AE in Airplay and just play using the Computer it works fine. I'm not sure what can be causing the interference but it seems its between my computer and AE when they are both turned on. I would appreciate any suggestions forum members have to help me resolve this issue. I have the 2nd generation AE. Thanks a lot.

Go to the front page of the Store, and click Change Country. Make sure it is set to the country where you actually are.
Then you will be able to see everything that is for sale in your country, which, depending where you live, might or might not include music.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

Snow Leopard is a Mac OS X version. You say that it's the version you have in your Mac (10.6.8). Do a back up of your files, format the hard drive (using Disk Utility) and reinstall again

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas?
