On my laptop I get the message Insecure Startup item disabled. "/Library/Startupitems/PACESupport" has not been started because it does not have the proper security settings".
This hadn't happened until after I had used a WiFi connection at a hotel where we were staying. If I click OK it goes away - no problem - but comes back next time I start it up. How do I get rid of the message?
Appreciate any help!

Go to /Library/StartupItems
Move the PACESupport file(s) from the StartupItems folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac, see if it went away.

Depending on why it's been disabled you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it.
If that doesn't fix it then contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

Well, I spoke too soon. Yes, I'm using the same account on both iPads, but I just changed my password for the umpteenth time and now I get the disabled message on both iPads. OK sorted it myself - had to "stop sharing" and reinvite - one irritation is that on the iPad, by default sharing confers edit rights which I did not want. Attempts to change to View Only apparently don't work but it may be there is a time delay - anyway whatever - it seems OK now

This is iMessages, not an SMS/MMS, and this means the same Apple ID is registered for iMessage on each iPhone.
You or your daughter need to activate your own Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime. The same Apple ID can continue to be shared for iTunes store downloads - for music and apps.
On the iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Select the Apple ID at the top and sign out. Sign in with the new Apple ID.
Make sure the same email address is not available below You can be reached by iMessage at on each iPhone.

HT1043 My midi controller sends message thru mainsage to rewired Reason. How can I stop Mainstage from automatically sending volume control and other messages to Reason?

I have assigned the volume control on my Yamaha midi keyboard to a screen control in Mainstage to do a different function. But it simultaneous does my assigned job as well as controlling volumes of instruments in rewired Reason. How can I stop that from happening. I don't want any of my knobs to control Reason. I use touchOSC on my iPhone as a mixer. It also send all soughts of undesirable faders and knob massages through Mainstage to reason. I must point out that, I have disengaged keyboad control in reason preferences.
Every knob on any controller which is sending CC07 message to mainstage automatically controls instrument volume in Reason. Some other CC messages are also sent automatically. How can I stop that from happening?

If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple.
