On my laptop Win7 I get 18 mb download, on my desktop, Xp I get 4, Why?

I have two computers, an HP laptop, Win 7, and a desktop Xp. I have the latest Firefox on both. But on download speed tests, the HP always tests higher (18) as opposed to the desktop (4-6). I had a computer tech, (true tech, not a friend) check this and he changed the 'network board' or some such and no change. So why is there the difference in these two computers, on the same modem and router? To be fair, my desktop is older, but it has a new hard drive, and seems to have 'weathered' all the tests. I am 85, a female, so be gentle with me! I have had a computer since the mid 80's, (a Kaypro) but technology is running roughshod over me right now and I do need some explicit help. Thank you.

I am within distance for both computers, sometimes in the same room! My reason for the difference is: I have a 23" monitor for my desktop. I do not have cable TV, I cannot afford it. So I watch what I need via Internet. I prefer to watch on the 23" monitor. But the 'buffering' with the slower speed is annoying. OK? I can do all right on the laptop, and yes, I could tranfer the cable to the laptop for the 23" monitor, but that is a goat rope. So there you have it.
PS I recently had a new hard drive installed. Previously the two computer were within limits for speed of each other. Since the new hard drive was installed, not so good. Could be the problem. On the other hand, when I log on to Explorer, I get good readings. I think Firefox has some glitch that is causing the problem. Remember, I am 85, be gentle.

1)I purchased a license for Adobe Illustrator CC (and my expired trial version was for Adobe Illustrator CC)
2) I am using Mac OSX, 10.7.5
3) I just removed the previous installation with disable / remove Illustrator CC from the files programs

Open any folder on your hard drive and go to the Go menu and select the Desktop option:
Type Command + F to open the serarch window for the Desktop and set Kind = Image
Select all of the files displayed, Command (right) - click on them and select the Move to Trash option in the contextual menu:
Go back to the Desktop. If you want to save those photos create a new folder on the Desktop, open the Trash in the Dock and move them to the new folder on the Desktop.
If you don't want to save those files just empty the Trash in the Dock.

You need to be more specifc. What exactly isn't working and are you referring to downloading from the web site or actualyl installing and activating the program?

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

If you had it on a laptop that crashed and you threw away, it is still considered as activated on that machine. YOu should contact Adobe by chat or by phone and have them deactivate for you.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

that's correct. Cloud software can be installed on Mac and/or Windows for no extra cost. No platform swapping process is required.
On the Mac simply sign in to creative.adobe.com with your Adobe ID and download the software. Same as you did on the PC.

You have one license.
You can download and install it on an infinite number of computers, as long as it is only installed on two of your computers at any one time, and in use on only one computer at any given time.
So in your case, current iMac, that's would mean its installed on one computer, no problem. Future iMac and future MacBook ... so if you uninstall from current iMac and install on Future iMac and future MacBook, it's now installed on two computers at a time, no problem, as long as you're not using Lightroom on both simultaneously. And if after that, you got two new computers and uninstalled Lightroom from the previous two, you're still good, it's only installed on two computers at any one time.
