On my macbook pro. Was notified to do an 'update', now there are absolutely no radio broadcasts which I accessed on my world travels. What happened to them on the download of the new iTunes???
Was sent a message to "update" iTunes on my MacBook pro... Did so and now there are no world-wide radio broadcasts on the pull down menu? What is that about? I travel a lot and use them regularly. Can I get the old iTunes back?
It would be best if you posted this issue on the iTunes forum where there are persons who are well versed with this application and may be able to assist you. Yours is not the only problem with the new iTunes.
If you have Time Machine or another backup prior to the download of the new iTunes, you should be able to resurrect the prior version.

I cant believe Apple has discontinued the Classic without telling anyone - I need a new one and now they are all sold out!!!! Its crazy!! I have over 100Gb of music, in car, everywhere! Because usually, when a product is discontinued, a store would drop the price to get rid of old stock (of a product that the manufacturer has decided is no longer popular).

Wait. As per the suggestion in my previous post. There is after all, already an iPhone with 128GB capacity. Technically therefore, that would suggest that it is possible to produce a replacement for the Classic. But since I have no inside knowledge of anything Apple are planning, don't quote me on that!
Work on the basis that since your iPod is only "on its last legs" rather than "not working at all", it still has a useful purpose. Maybe by the time it does stop working, suggestion 1 will have come to pass.
I have no practical suggestion for avoiding a touch screen, it's the modern way!
Of course, if all else fails, and you end up with an iPod that has less capacity than your Library, you could resort to using Smart Playlists to manage your iPod, by using them to add and remove songs (for example, ones recently played that you don't want to hear for a while) and thereby keeping the songs on the iPod within its capacity. If that interests you, please ask and I'll explain it in more detail. -
Downloads seem to be happening normally at first but the file shows up with a file extension of ".part" that I can not use or open. If I refresh the folder where it was downloaded to, it disappears as though it wasn't there at all.
I used to do this and it just yesterday started to give me problems. It doesn't seem to matter what file type I do this with as PDF, MP3 and EXE files have all shown this problem.

Suddenly stopped connecting to any wireless network which is secured, WEP/WPA/WPA2/personal/enterprise all do NOT work.
Connects to unsecured networks just fine.
For example, our wireless password is:
123456890!
I tried with WPA2, no luck.
Tried with WPA2 and pw 1234567890, no luck.
Tried with WPA and pw 1234567890!, no luck.
Tried with WPA and pw 1234567890, no luck.
Tried WEP with 1234567890, no luck.
Tried with NO SECURITY on this wi-fi network, connected right away.
-I did reset PRAM, no luck.
-I deleted from Keychain, no luck.
-I added as prefered network and removed, no luck.
-I added new network location, no luck.
-I removed the Wi-fi network adapter, rebooted, activated, no luck.
-In the mac console logs, all I see are "wlEvent: en1 en1 link DOWN" when I try to connect to my secured wireless network (home or my office or even at a neighbors).
-Wireless diagnostics tell me nothing
-Console logs do not tell me anything
-Warranty is expired and no AppleCare
Seems like a bug to me, even though I have tried with a Netgear, Cisco/Linksys, D-Link router and even tried tethering to a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and iPhone 5, all same problem, says "Connection failed."

Well a password that weak will get cracked in about 6 hours on just about any PC in the area.
Now: LKUY*&T&67NH(*JKÎM<PijriuÎÓyhm8t, that's a real good network password, even a huge botnet would have trouble cracking that. I know because my router was PING flooded by the Flashback botnet and survived.
After OS X is reinstalled over itself to fix it, you might have to do more as it could be a "in user account" issue with a corrupted preference file, bad users permissions or another cause that's not OS X

I bought my macbook pro about 4 yrs ago in my college year, and right after I found out there was some weird noise being made while the laptop was running.
And compared to my school mates' macbook, mine got easily heated up and had a loud noise while running.
So I took it to my school tech department and they said since its warranty is effective, why don't I go to apples, and so I did.
At first, at the genius bar, a technician said it will cost me 400 and i was struck with shock ..
fortunately, the technician found out that the laptop was defectively manufactured from the factory from the beginning and I was free of the fixing charge.
However, my macbook pro's got a new problem. The screen goes black while running. I can hear the computer running but the screen is total pitch black.
I went to apple store again to the genius bar to ask for the fixing fee.- It was 300 bucks for fixing it and they said there was a problem with
the computer's logic board whatever. I bought the laptop for 1200$ and they are asking me for 1/4 of the price the laptop.
The genius bar asked me if I ever dropped the laptop or left it somewhere near water whatever. I HAVE NEVER DONE THAT and the laptop was
sitting on my loveseat in my room and when I came back from work and turned it on to get on internet...it didn't turn on.
What am I supposed to do?

One is dead the other failing. I am with you, you shouldn't have to purchase an extended warranty on a premium product. I have seen a lot of posts on this subject. Seattle Rex took Apple to court last year over the same issue and won in small claims court.

I am sure a class action lawsuit is not far off. It is fraudulent to sell a product that is known to be defective. I purchased my laptops from Apple.com in 2011 after the testing program had already started. From what I can deduce the logicboard and Lion do not get along. CNET has several articles on this issue. My Macbook Pro was recently stolen, and I have replaced it with a Macbook Air. I attempted to simply do a restore from the Macbook Pro's Time Machine backup, but since the new Macbook Air's hard drive is significantly smaller, a Time Machine restore was not possible. I even tried to choose only settings or only my User Profile (option) when restoring, but the backup was still too large to do a restore onto the new machine. How do I restore my more-expensive apps (ie iWorks) onto my new Macbook without repurchasing them? Also, I reaad somewhere that if you went to the Mac App Store and attempted to repurchase the app and clicked BUY, it would simply alert you that you have already purchased the app (and trigger a re-download)... NOT THE CASE... So I just dropped another $19.99 for a second copy of Pages... Not my intention....

LMyou should get a usb backup drive as well. time machine has limited use in my eyes. it saves things. but older things can be errased ad space drops without telling you

My macbook pro was "asleep". I opened it later, and the screen wouldn't change from black.. The bottom of the laptop is very hot and making a hissing/whirring sound. I tried hitting the power button to turn it off, but the conditions just stayed the same. It doesn't respond to the power button, and the screen just stays black. How do i fix this?!
I will go to the Apple store. I just thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone had a solution. They repaired this macbook before twice. The last time they replaced several things to fix the screen. I just threw out the question to see if someone could save me the trip to the store.

SIgn in with your Apple ID, the same one you used to access this support forum.
Hopefully, you will see a list of all the devices you registered with your Apple ID, including their serial numbers. Let me know how this works out.
Edit to add: If you enabled "find my imac" on your Pro, you ought to be able to remotely lock it, or even wipe its memory. Click http://www.icloud.com/ sign in with your Apple ID and click the big green "find my iPhone" icon (nevermind the name, it will find all your devices provided they're running Lion or iOS 5).
Then file a police report and nail the b*****d. -

Or would it be untraceable after it was wiped? My MacBook pro is just over 3 years old now and the screen has totally blacked out for a few seconds at a time. It will come back on in a few seconds with the exception this past month it has stayed black for a longer period of time like one minute. It scares me to think that one of these times it won't come back on. I have noticed it happens more often when I am using just the battery power. Does anyone have any idea what causes this? just to mention my battery was not low when this happens.

if your MacBook Pro is a 15-inch Mid 2010 model (“MacBookPro6,2”), then it might be exhibiting the defect that is documented on this Apple Support page. If your black screen is due to this defect, then that page states that Apple will service this problem on this specific model of MacBook Pro gratis, for three years from the date of purchase. However, some commenters here have noted that sometimes the servicing is done gratis without having proof of the date of purchase. If you have an Apple Store near you, you might consider bringing your MacBook Pro there to have them check for the presence of this defect.
It is only the 15-inch Mid 2010 model that has this problem; no other model suffers from it. -

I have a new macbook pro running lion and want to update to ios 5 on my ipod touch. My old macbook only has 10.4.11 and can't be updated to lion - and won't update my ipod touch to ios 5.
