  • URGENT please: I get a "Shared Technologies" error on installing Photoshop Elements 11

On my Windows 7 64-bit system,  I get a "Shared Technologies" error on installing Photoshop Elements 11.

    Try this first:
    1) Let the installation rollback.
    2) Restart the machine.
    3) Try installation now.
If still facing issues please review document here - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-installation-photoshop-elements- premiere.html#main_Error__Below_mentioned_applications_have_failed_to_install__Shared_tech nologies_

What's error 1 in adobe photoshop elements configuration? I have a computer with W Vista 8, Windows office home and business 2013. I recently tried to install Photoshop Elements by CD with serial number but on the desktop appears the following message: error 1 (configuration problem) try to uninstall and reinstall. I have done this but the message continues to appear

You haven't mentioned which version of PSE. If it is PSE 13, that requires a minimum of windows 7.

  • I get a shared technology error when trying to install Preiemeire Elements 11 .. suggestions ?

Tried several methods but, being somewhat technologically handicapped, I can't get by the shared technology error when installing?

    Welcome to the forum, Ted,
Here's an older "Shared Technologies" thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3155897#3155897
But, I am not sure that we were ever able to help the OP, and they never reported back with the responses from Adobe. Still, might be a tip that is useful.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
[Edit] I mis-spoke. The OP and another user with the same error WERE helped. What I saw initially was yet another poster, who was going to contact Adobe, but never came back to the thread. In the case of the OP and another users, the issue was caused by having Adobe Bridge, included with other Adobe programs, like Photoshop and Premiere Pro, running. When they killed that, the installation went well.

  • I keep getting a shared services failure whenever installing photoshop 12

I have tried a clean boot, running the installer as administrator, running the 64 bit vs the 32 bit installer, removing the OOBE directory from the Appdata folder.  This is getting ridiculous.  The Adobe ASA tool says nothing is wrong and to contact support.  How can an installation process be so difficult?

you can run the cleaner to see if there's something left on your system, http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

iTunes and QuickTime have never been supported on the 64-bit version of Windows (look here for the official statement). Some people have managed to get it working (at least tolerably), but from what I've read, a recent update from Microsoft has caused a lot of problems. You might try rolling back recent Windows updates and see if you can get things working again.

    Hi Hardy Tasso,
Are you seeing this problem since first launch of PSE13 after installation or recently?
    Please try:
Keep Ctrl + Alt + Shift keys pressed while launching PSE13 Editor and click OK on the dialog that comes next.

  • Cannot install Photoshop Elements 10 32-bit sources on 64-bit system

I was able to successfully install Photoshop Elements 10 on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit system (new laptop) using the sources I had downloaded previously for a Windows 7 32-bit system (old laptop). However I was unable to to do the same for Photoshop Premier Elements. It suggested I needed a 64-bit version of the sources.
    Questions:
    - Where can I get the sources for the 64-bit version of Photoshop Elements 10?
    - Can I download the above without purchasing the software all over again?
    Thank you.

Download the free trial from the following link - it's the same as the full product.
Then enter your serial number to make it permanent.

There is a problem with IE10+ in that it is mistakenly seen as being IE1.  To get around this either use a different browser or use compatibility view (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-10)

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)
