Yahoomail the text and everything is so large it doesn't fit on the screen. I always have to scroll left and right to read my mail. It's really annoying. I don't know how to adjust that . I tried Google Chrome and it was more normal. Everything fit. I prefer Firefox so what can be done about this?

  • When I download pictures from my camera, they turn out a nice big size in iPhoto; other pictures that have been e-mailed to me or imported from older libraries/other computers show up small.  Why is this, and how can I make them all the larger size?

When I download pictures from my digital camera into iPhoto, they turn out a nice large size (usually almost the full screen), but when somebody e-mails me pictures and I import them into iPhoto, or when I transfer old photos from an old library into my new iPhoto library, they turn out very small--not exactly thumbnail-size, but too small to use for calendars or photo books.  I don't know much about computers, so I don't know how this happened.  Also, I can't find any discernible pattern to why this happens with some pictures and not others--ie: what I described above is usually true, but I have had e-mailed photos or old photos turn out the way I want them, which is in the larger size in iPhoto.  Why is this happening, and how can I make all the pictures the larger size?

Some mail programs, including Apple Mail, can reduce the size of images that are attached to a message. It's happening at the sender's end, and all you can do is ask the sender for a larger image.

  • My firefox is half English and Half Spanish. How can I make it all English ?

my firefox is half English and Half Spanish. How can I make it all English ?

If you have the Firefox user interface (menu bar) in the wrong language or want to change the current language then you can get the language of your choice here:
    http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
Uninstall the current Firefox version, but make sure that you do not remove your personal data.
Install the new Firefox version of the wanted language.
See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup and [[Backing up your information]]
You may need to (re)set the pref "general.useragent.locale" to the preferred language (e.g. "en-US" or "en-GB") on the about:config page.
You can open the '''about:config''' page via the location bar, like you open a web site.
Use the ''Filter'' bar at the top of that page to quickly locate the pref.

  • How can I make mp4 videos play in Firefox?

YouTube works fine. Other websites play videos, no problem.
But then I'll go to a website and see a message that the video is either corrupt or is not supported.
When I search for how to play mp4 in Firefox I end up at this site:
    http://www.jwplayer.com/blog/the-state-of-html5-firefox-now-supports-mp4/
With the huge headline Firefox Now Supports MP4.
    No, it ****ing doesn't!
A bit frustrated, because everywhere I look for help on this, I either come across pages saying it should work, Firefox supports mp4 etc, OR forums where it's webmakers asking the question and then the solution is something wrong in their coding - which doesn't help me, the lonely end user.
When I go to this suggested test site: http://techslides.com/demos/sample-videos/small.mp4
I get the error message: Video can't be played because the file is corrupt.
No, it's not. I can download it and play it on WinAmp.
When I go to this suggested test site: http://www.html5videoplayer.net/html5video/mp4-h-264-video-test/
I get the error: No video with supported format and MIME type found.
Huh? Again, I can download and play it fine.
    But Firefox won't play it.
    Soooooo
Is there a fix in the wind?
Is there something I can tweak or change to make Firefox recognize and play this stuff?
Is there a plugin/extension/addon that I need to download to play mp4?
If this is a known problem that is going to be fixed eventually, is there something I can do as a substitute (ie a plugin for now)?
Because it seems like the only alternative is to abandon Firefox and start using Chrome, which has no problem with the above-mentioned videos.

I have win7 home, firefox 35.0.1. Java but no other add-on/extension that matters.
And it works, both your links.
Try running firefox in safe mode and see if it works

  • I just installed Mozilla Firefox 3.6. This is the first time have have installed Firefox. My problem is I no longer have the screen which lists which plugins need updating and researching. How can I find out which plugins need updating or researching?

After installation it told me to update or research several plugins. I updated Silverlight and JAVA. I was instructed to shut down and restart my computer to test the JAVA installation. I did this and the installation is fine. At this point I no longer had the screen with the list of plugins that need updating or researching.

THis is probably the page you saw.

You can also access it from the Firefox menu by clicking "Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins" and then clicking the Find Updates button at the bottom.

  • Firefox has spontaneously decided not to show the task bar at the bottom of the screen, and some menu bars have been messed up. How can I fix this?

My Firefox has spontaneously (apparently) decided not to show the task bar at the bottom of the screen (the margin is there, but it is blank), and some menu bars have been messed up. Perhaps the most annoying aspect of these changes is the fact that I have to use alt-tab to move from a Firefox session to another session.
I can find no way to fix these problems. Can you help? Am I going to have to uninstall and re-install Firefox in order to get back to the default settings? If so, is there any way to preserve my bookmarks?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).<br />
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.

  • I am college student and my professors require we use Turnitin however Turnitin does not support Firefox 4 how can I get it to work with Firefox 4 or how can I return to Firefox 3

Turnitin will not work with firefox 4 how can I return to firefox 3 or how can I get firefox 4 and Turnitin in sync

The Turnitin system requirements on mention Firefox 3. If it does not support Firefox 4 you can downgrade to Firefox 3.6
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

  • My yahoo.mail email window has spontaneously minimized, thus making it impossible to read without a magnifying glass......how can I restore the original format?

The email display has "shrunk" into the upper left corner of the window. I can view the same email info without any problems with Safari. I prefer the Firefox server/format, so I would really appreciate any help in resolving this issue. Thanks

Please update to Firefox 32 ([[Update Firefox to the latest version]]) and then try reading [[Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages]]

  • How can I make NETRIS listings work on Firefox.

I have always kept NETRIS on Internet E because it will not work on Firefox. Some of the buttons will not work. A tech guys said yesterday that it now works and to ditch internet E because it causes problems. But I still cannot get the search etc. buttons to work.

I've been struggling with this problem a lot in the past two days because my client is trying to ditch Internet Explorer entirely and the Microsoft OS entirely if possible. The www.ntreis.net website seems to work perfectly until you log in, and then everything loads and again seems to work perfectly except for the Search function. As near as I can narrow it down, there is some bizzare function that Search calls that no other browser in the world but IE8 from Mircosoft calls or recognizes. Strangely their website will tell you it supports a Mozilla Browser and I guess on a purely technical level that's true, but the lack of the Search function makes it less than useful. The same problem exists with higher levels of IE for Windows 8. As of right now unless there is some known work around, www.ntreis.net only works on XP or windows 7 machines running only IE8 nothing earlier or later functions at all. If you'd like screenshots or available code from the site, that's available upon request.
It's been suggested, that the problem might have something to do with secure browser settings. In the source code of the affected part of the page, the agent's liscense is given in plain text. I don't know if there's any way to test this or not.
Just an update, the Innovia portal works flawlessly not only in Firefox, but in a completely different operating system, it looks slightly different than the standard Listings section but it works the same way.

  • I am trying to download the latest version of Adobe and when I go to the Downloads place on my PC, it's not there. How can I make sure Firefox is not blocking

I know I have the latest version of the browser (because it told me so). When I hit the Download now button for the Adobe and indicate that I want to save it, it seems to take, but when I go to the Downloads on my Computer, it isn't there. I don't know where else to look or what else to check. I think I have successfully done this in the past, but it's been a while.

Do you have the "Green Arrow" icon on one of your toolbars? That usually will list your most recent downloads with a button to open the folder where they are saved.
If you don't have that, you can open the full download list using either:
    * Ctrl+j
    * Tools > Downloads
    * History > Show All History, then click Downloads in the left column
Can you find the download listed there and click the "Open Containing Folder" button?
Are you downloading Flash or Acrobat/Reader?
    For Flash try: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
For Acrobat/Reader, you may not need an update.
Firefox's plugin check site only recognizes the Adobe XI (11) series as current, but if you have checked for updates in your Adobe Reader X or Adobe Acrobat X product (Help > Check for Updates) then you do not need to update the plugin. For this older Reader/Acrobat version, please rely on Adobe for information on available updates and not the plugin check site.

My Mail Account in linked to my address book. The address book shows First Name, Last Name. When I start an email in Mail, the name does appear but the order is reversed...Last Name, First Name. I must have changed a setting somewhere but I don't know where. Does anyone know how to correct it?

I don't have any problem with my system. My guess is there is something there you aren't quite getting. I'd recommend a visit to your Apple Store, AASP or to contact AppleCare so they can coach you personally.
You can also play with the Address Book Preferences. However to see how changing a Preference affects the Address Book drag the Preferences window off of the Address Book so you can see both the Preferences window and Address Book Windows. Then toggle a Preference and you will see it instantly changes in the Address Book.
