On/off button doesnt work after firmware upgrade on micro

hi,
two days ago i found out about the new firmware update for the micro zen (..0) i realized it would get me better mileage out of my battery so i updated it. i also sent it to my friends that i convinced to get the zen cause it was so much better than the ipod. i updated mine zen and realized right away that the on/off switch was acting very very weird. it would sometime take two or three tries to get it on or off. after a day or two it stopped working altogether. i updated the firmware again but that didnt do anything. my friends didnt have any problems with it. i cant even get into recovery mode cause the only way to turn it on is to plug it in the charger/computer. the only way to turn it off is to unplug the battery. my computer does recognize it when i plug it in cause i was even able to backup all my songs. can someone please help me?

You get to recovery mode by removing the battery, so on/off is not necessary.
It might well be the switch has failed, and therefore you need to contact Creative Support, links for which are in the FAQ post.

After OS6 my OFF button doesnt work.

Right after the upgrade of my iPhone 4, the power button started not working. I have had it in a Defender case since it came outta the box and its has not been bumped around a great deal. I'd like to take it back to OS5.1.1 tomake sure its not hardware. How do I do this??

HP 5524 Wireless does not work after firmware upgrade

HI,
I have just purchased an HP5524. After initial problems setting up the WPA key from the printer screen, I connected via USB, found the printer and swapped to wireless successfuly. I then installed the printer software on all my computers at home successfully over wireless.
The printer then needed a firmware upgrade to support eprint (?), which is successfully connected, downloaded the fireware, installed and went through the boot cycles successfully.
However, ever since wireless will not work. Before I return it to the retailer as "not fit for purpose" I thought I would ask the forum. The diagnostics downloaded a tool, which I went through, but this did not offer solutions that I had not already tried.

Thank you for posting you query,
In order to resolve the issue, please make sure the printer is placed closer to the router and uninstall the printer drivers already installed and then start the instalaltion and seelct teh connection type as wireless network. Then select use USB to configure wireless and when prompted conenct the USB cable and then select the network and enter the encryption key follow the onscreen instructions.
If the issue still persisits, please open the browser and in the address bar enter the IP address of the router and click on GO. This will take you to the router configuration page. On the router page, please click on Wireless Setup and please make sure SSID Broadcast is enabeld and the Wireless Mode is set to Mixed or 802.11 B/G/N and the Wireless Channel is set to 11 and click on Apply. Then try to connect the printer to the network by using the CD.

Qosmio F30: Multimedia buttons not work after Vista Upgrade

I upgraded my Toshiba Qosmio F30 laptop to the Vista Home premium that I got from microsoft.
After upgrading, the multimedia keys (First row) is not working and also some of the shortcuts which is done by combining the control + Function keys (like Control+F1 to switch off the screen).
After upgrading to Vista, I updated all my device drivers with the second software dvd received with the Vista upgrade.
Also again I updated these drivers with the final Toshiba drivers for Vista dated 25/4/07 on the internet. How to restore the function of these multimedia keys and other keyboard shortcuts which is not working.

Can I ask you: Where did you downloaded the drivers and the tools software?
As I upgraded my machine I had the same problem, so a user told me watching on the Canadian Toshiba website and there I found some useful drivers.

SB wow wireless not working after firmware upgrade

Hello,
In the beginning of this year I bougth a pair of Sound Blaster World of warcraft wireless headset. And there have been alot of trouble with them, I've been using the latest software but not the latest firmware ever since then.
And every now and then my mic stop to work, I could hear sound but the mic was totally dead, and all of a sudden, of no logical reason the mic started to work agian.
So I thought a firmware upgrade could make them work better, but no, i upgrade firmware from .9.x to .0.x.
And guess what happens? Nothing works no, not the sound, not the mic, the USB trasmitter cant even sync with the headset anymore.
Ive tried a million things now, some of them are:
. Just tried to reinstall it, didnt work
2. Tried to install it in winxpsp3 compability mode, didnt work.
3. Tried to clear all temp-folder (the temp-folder under c:\windows\temp and the user-temp) after Ive uninstalled it, didnt work.
Im running on Windows 7 Professional x64 edition.
What could cause this? I havnt tried to install them on a XP-computer yet tho. But I have to get them work in Win7, since i cant downgrade just because of a headset, huh?

HP M451dn AirPrint Not Working After Firmware Upgrade

Hello All,
Just setup and brand new HP Laserjet 400 color M451dn.
Since this does not have the WiFi option, I connected it via Ethernet cable directly to my NetGear WNDR4300 (N750) WiFi Router, so folks in my office with iPads/iPhones can AirPrint to it.
This worked great, out of the box! iPad/iPhone users could join the WiFi network, and then see the printer with no problem.
However, after updating the printer to the latest firmware (20140708) the iPads/iPhones can no longer find the printer!
The Config Report still shows AirPrint as one of the "Installed Personalities and Options", however, the web-based printer interface does not show Bonjour as one of the Networking options in the Networking menu. (It shows IPv4 and IPv6 only)
I have tried the following sequence without success:
1. Power-off the M451dn printer.
2. Power-off the Netgear WNDR4300 (N750) router, wait 30-sec, and power-on.
3. Wait 2-3 minutes for Netgear to sync-up after power-up.
4. Turn-on M451dn.
5. Try finding M451dn with iPad.
Still getting "No printers found..."
So, did I do something wrong in upgrading the firmware?
Or do I have to somehow re-enable the AirPrint option?
Please help, as I am now most hated amongst the Apple crowd at the office.

Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro: WiFi doesnt work after driver upgrade

After experiencing Wireless issues I tried to upgrade my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro 13" with Windows 8.1 64Bit to the latest drivers from the lenovo support site.
Ever since I cannot connect to the WLAN anymore. What puzzles me is that the driver status in the device manager shows a different driver version than what I have installed (uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it doesn't change anything here).
What puzzles me is the Lenovo Website shows driver version 16.6.0.8 (released 25.Jan.2014, see link below), whereas my system display version is 16.6.2.1 (dated 31.10.2013). Hence I thought I have another version from somewhere else on my and removed all driver versions I could find.
Checking driver details I get the follow file versions:
   C:\windows\system32\drivers\NETwbw02.sys    version 16.6.2.1 Intel, dated 2011
   C:\windows\system32\drivers\Netwfw02.dat       no version or publisher
   C:\windows\system32\drivers\vwifibus.sys          version 6.3.9600.16384 Microsoft
Still, whenever I deinstall the driver, install the files from lenovo and click "Detect new device" my system pulls the drivers as listed above and is incapable of connecting to any WiFi.
Windows 8.1. shows no connections available and doesn't connect anymore.
How can I get my WLAN back?

hi Florian,
If Windows Update is configured to automatically fetch updates from Microsoft then the machine most likely have installed the Intel driver update for Intel(R) Wireless N-7260 as discussed in this article (which explains the different driver versions).
Things that you can try:
1. If the machine comes with the Intel(R) Wireless N-7260, navigate to:
- Device Manager
- Network Adapters
- Intel(R) Wireless N-7260 (right click > update driver software)
- Browse my computer for driver software
- Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (you will then see a list of drivers, check if you have the version 16.6.0.8 from Lenovo and choose it and observe.
2. Restart the machine and boot into the BIOS (by pressing F2 on the Lenovo screen). Once you're in, navigate to the Configuration Tab and ensure Wireless is set to Enabled (if applicable).

3. Perform a System Restore and choose a date before the issue began. (this will restore the unit to an earlier point in time where wireless connection is working fine)
4. Perform a Refresh / Reset or press the OneKey Recovery button (this will restore the unit to factory settings - ensure that you backup important files first).

N73 will not work after firmware upgrade

Hi
Im looking for some advice.
Today because i was having problems with a software application on my N73 Nokia's website advised me to update the firmware which seemed to go ok.
When i unplugged the cable the phone went off and wont switch one now, nothing happens at all when you press the on off switch.
Anyone got any ideas whats happened and whether its fixable??

I tried the N93 system fix below and the software updater recognised the phone first time and completed the upgrade, the phone then powered up of its own accord.
However i get the white screen with the blue "nokia" on it but then if flicks a couple of times and leaves me with a message "Phone start up failed contact the retailer"
Anyone got any ideas what that means / how to fix it??

after a recent upgrade mysqld has stopped working on my server, its been fine for a year (and as a result has allot of important data in the mysql databases).
when i attempt a restart of the service it just fails, the tail of /var/lib/mysql/whitefall.err is:

EPrint on CP1525nw not working after firmware upgrade

I have a CP1525nw that ePrint was working great on when I bought the device. Then I upgraded to the latest firmware (20110329), and now I get a "System Error" in ePrint Center every time I send a print job. I also get a warning message that says "To ensure your ePrint service is not interrupted please update your firmware at www.hp.com/go/eprint." I have tried that link, and I have verified that I do in fact have the latest firmware installed, but it simply doesn't work anymore. The status in ePrint Center is showing that the device is connected and ready. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Iphone 3g doesnt work after ios5 upgrade

i upgraded my iphone 4 but now i can't use facebook, get my emails...anything that uses the internet isn't working anymore!! it says 'could not activate cellular data network...'etc...please help!!
i can only use it for texts, phone calls and camera at the moment which is not why i chose iphone!

Settings/General/Reset Reset Network Settings, then reboot (hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears)
If you have an Exchange email account and still have the problem do the following:
Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendar, tap on the Exchange account and delete it. Reboot. Go back to Settings and add it back.
There are other possibilities, including misbehaving applications, but this is a common problem with Exchange.

After upgrading database from 10.2.0.4 to 10.2.0.5 version jobs runing fails.
I have recreated and all jobs, but the result is same.
Last start date shows that some jobs (4 of 10) start to run in a different time than planned. Another 6 jobs doesnt start.

IPod Touch 2G Home button not working after OS4 upgrade

Hi there,
hope someone can help. Upgraded an iPod Touch 2G to OS4.1 and teh home button will not work now normally, but will work if its attached to a PC and iTunes. Anyone seen this before and how to fix it?

thanks for the reply. Tried both of what you suggested, also tried the home button thing only working while plugged in with two computers and two different leads which is why I suspect is an operating system thing.
I may try downgrading the operating system next, just have to find a copy of an old one somewhere.
