ON/OFF button is not working properly on my Satellite A660-1H7

Hi,
I hope somebody can help me as it is driving me mad. Most of the time when I push down the silver on button nothing happens.
Sometimes if I push it rapidly it comes on other times Ive got to hold my finger on it for a couple of minutes. To get it on. I seem to think it could be the switch its self . If so does anyone know where I can buy one from?

Such small parts and hardware components you cannot buy so easily. I presume the mechanism under the button must be replaced.
I have similar problem on my old Portege M800. It starts only if I press power button on certain place (upper right border). Just then can I hear click noise and notebook starts properly. I presume you have similar problem, right?
Until now I didnt open the notebook because I don't have maintenance manuals and don't want to damage anything.
Maybe you should contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can order right part and exchange it for you.

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!

From the last few days my I phone 3GS is giving me a hard time.. Its HOME BUTTON is not working properly. Have to press it 2-3 times and have to press it hard to make it work. I am now running 5.1 iOS, it had the same problem with 5.0.1 iOS too. Can you suggest me what to do??? Do i need to take it to the service centre????

I've just noticed this too, after updating my 3GS to iOS 5.1. It seems to be happening off and on, but it is more of a problem when the phone has set locked and idle for a few minutes.
I usually wake it from sleep with the power button, unlock it, and wait for the ability to use the home button.
It might be worth it to take it to the Genius Bar or at least try to live chat with Apple Customer Service.

Sleep/Wake button will not lock or unlock iPhone
1. To lock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake button. Note: By default, if you don't touch the screen for a minute, iPhone locks automatically.
2. To unlock iPhone, press the Home button or the Sleep/Wake button, then slide the slider.
3. If either of the above steps don't work, try turning iPhone off and then on again.
4. If the iPhone will not power off, reset it.
5. Try to lock or unlock the phone.
If you continue to have issues, we may need to isolate the issue further to determine if it is hardware related. The best way to do this would be to restore your iPhone as new:

- After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod? If yes, restore the iPod from backup.
- If no, se if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

If not, turn phone off/on again. If that doesn't do it, reset by holding down the power and home buttons until you see the apple logo (ignore the slide to turn off message). Finally, you can try restoring the phone from backup.

After I updated to iOS 7.0.2 my lock button is not working properly I push the button many times and after many failed attempts it locks and sometimes not. I had to use the accesibility tool to lock it manually from the screen, this is really annoying.

Cancel button does not work properly in ProgressMonitor

The cancel button does not work properly in my ProgressMonitor.
Only the keyboard Enter key is accepted but no mouse click.
Everything else works fine.

Yes, there is a monitor.isCanceled() and it works if the enter key is pressed. However, a mouse click on the cancel button does not work!!!

Changing your password won't help. It is a touchscreen so if 7,8,9 are not working then that part of the screen will not work if you were to get it unlocked.

I would try a restore just to see if it could be something software related, but if that doesn't work I would recommend taking to an Apple Store to see if it is a serious hardware issue and if it is, assuming you're in warranty, then they would be able to replace your phone.
