On screen advertising

Am I the only one appalled at the ad showing a fellow having a heart attack? As a relatively recent widow I am appalled at the insensitivity of this.
Am also extremely bothered by all the ads. I feel I pay a fair price for the service and don't expect to be exposed to one ad after another that take up screen space and are of no interest, even when not offensive.

How to disable full screen advertisements on samsung brightside?

I started getting full screen ads on my samsung brightside. I now get 2-3 per day, and I have option of dismissing or viewing them.
How can I turn this annoying feature off? I didnt perform any software updates to alter the phone. Why is it all of a sudden showing ads now?

you have to go into your apps and remove the app daily pulse. (I think that is what it is called) once that is removed it should not come up. I had to do it myself and I haven't seen any adds since.

Ever since I downloaded the new version a few days ago I get full screen popup ads whenever I try to open a new site. It's INCREDIBLY annoying, and sometimes there is no icon to close them. WHY, why would Firefox allow this?

I don't HAVE any more details. Whenever I open a new site, I get (so far) one of two full screen advertisements. Most of the time there is the word "Skip" in the upper right hand corner, but on occasion that is not there, and there no way to get beyond the ad screen except to go into what they are trying to sell you. It is imposing and obnoxious to the nth. This has only happened since I downloaded the latest version (I think the BETA 4) 3 days ago. If this can not be resolved, I want to go back to the older version.

The Firefox pop-up blocker is usually very effective for blocking pop-ups generated by websites, but it sounds like you may have picked up some Malware that is generating those pop-ups from you own PC.

No off switch for diagnostic usage and location services

When you click on diagnostic usage in settings there is a link to a privacy statement. It says you can turn off location sevices in diagnostic usage by going to setting locations system services. Guess what there is no entry for diagnostic usage. So either you use diagnostic usage with location or not at all. Why???

Apparently you are correct about that diagnostics setting. I can't find it either - but I have a tendency to not be very observant! :)

Embedded video irritation

Hi,
I've set up a flash video sequence on iWeb. The flash movie was created using Adobe Flash CS4 but the sequence was published using JS-player.
The movie sequence runs fine, but at the end a screen advertising feedback, etc on the video is displayed (also displayed when the pause button is clicked).

I had a look at the swfobject.js that you have uploaded to MobileMe and haven't seen that one before.
The JW Longtail flash player is a lot easier to set using the wizard.....

How do I stop ads popping up?

I have check marked block pop-ups in safari - settings but still get these annoying banners at the bottom of
nearly every screen advertising other games or apps.
I bought the ipod second-hand so cannot vouch for what has been viewed etc in the past.

Not true, Apple built-in apps don't have ads. Most of the 3rd party free apps are using the ads support model to generate income.

I am new to java as a whole but have never the less been able to add some functionality to an existing product. Specifically I have added an on screen advertisment method to a kiosk. The on screen ad is a playlist of videos that are show one after another using a JMF player. I have added a controller listener and when I recieve the End of Media event I clean up the existing player and create a new one for the next video. The problem is, on each new video I leak 8 - 10 handles. these handles are gone forever and only closing the app recovers them. I have found some references to leaks but they date way back to 2004 I would greatly appriciate any help at all.
The clean up code looks like this

Since moving from MobileMe to iCloud my ical

Since moving from Mobile-me to iCloud nothing is syncing: iCal, contacts etc. Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem but only with iCal. Contacts and reminders seem to be there. When I try troubleshooting and go to my MacBook Apple>Preferences>iCloud, I keep getting the same screen advertising iCloud and telling me to use it I should "Move to iCloud." Each time I do that, in just goes into an endless loop of Find my Phone. WTH? Help!

Stuck In Setup forever!

I just bought my iMac 17 inch screen and was in the process of setup when right after I created my account and password, and my computer was "talking to Apple," it seemed like I first went to the next screen, but in a millisecond it flashed into another screen, advertising .Mac accounts and asking me if I wanted to join. But the Go Back and Continue buttons are both greyed out no matter what option I choose, I've tried the force quit buttons and nothing happens. I've tried pressing the power button and it just goes on standby. I don't know what to do! Please help me

have you tried holding the power button continuously for about 7-10 seconds?? will usually get the computer off this way. otherwise, you have no choice but to unplug the computer. if so, you might want to ground yourself beforehand, and make sure you unplug with the plug, not yanking on the cord. PSE 7 Welcome Screen startup options and turning off the advertising

The PSE 7 Welcome Screen no longer provides a start-up option for bypassing it and going directly to the Organizer or Editor. In addition, many people are annoyed by the advertising for Photoshop.com on the Welcome Screen and by the constant flashing tips in the lower right corner of the Organizer and Editor.
Here are some workarounds:
Create shortcuts directly to the Organizer and Editor. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to
> C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0
Find the file PhotoshopelementsEditor.exe, right-click it, and select Create Shortcut. You can then drag the shortcut to your desktop or the Start Menu. Alternatively, you can right click photoshopelementseditor.exe and click Pin To Start Menu, which will place a shortcut on the Windows Start menu. Do the same thing for the file PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe.
Turn off the advertising on the Welcome Screen. By turning off the advertising, you can still use the Welcome Screen to get to the Organizer, the Editor, Photoshop.com, and the tutorials. Use Windows Explorer to set the permissions of

I am using XP and the path to the folder is as follows:

However, I can't figure out how to "set the permissions". Is this possible in XP? Could someone please elaborate.
I am only interested in changing the tips (in the lower right corner that lead you to photoshop.com) in the Editor, since I do not use the Welcome Screen or Organizer.

Streaming advertisements to TV-screens through the internett

Hi,
I am currently opening up a shop. In this shop we have 6 different TV-screens, which will run all of our advertisements and offers.
These 6 screens is split up in the following way: 2 in front, 4 on top.
The two first are going to show the same images/advertisements, so will the top 4.
My question is if Adobe has any programs can run and distribute/stream these images to the TV-screens through the internet? Does Adobe Primetime work this way for instance? And why is it not included in Creative Cloud?

This has nothing to do with Adobe. You need a suitable video splitter hardware.

How to change a portfolio’s initial view setting to show the cover sheet (and hide the contents):
Open a PDF portfolio and run the following JS in the console:

Save the portfolio, close and re-open.
The cover sheet will now be displayed when opening the portfolio.

Here are the steps to replace the default cover sheet:
Open the Portfolio.
Perform a View > Portfolio > cover sheet to open the cover sheet.
Open the Pages panel for the cover sheet.
Right click on the cover sheet page in the pages panel, select “Replace Pages”.
Replace the cover sheet page with the desired cover from a page in another pdf.
Save the portfolio.

My HP Officejet 8500A plus is always publicizing advertisements on it's screen instead of Safe-Modes

When unfortunately reinstalling my HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus, your listing advertisements are consistenly being publicized upon your screen (without any pringing safemode for taken place until touching that). So can you please tell me how to stop your advertsing display again?
So therfore - can I please ask how to fully exclude your advertisements upon the overall reading screen - and while also convert my HP Printer while clearly into your PC ii possible?

The normal suggestions.
Close the app,off fully. Double tap the home screen then touch and hold any of the icons on the task bar until they jiggle, then close them all off by touching the - sign.
Then reboot the pad and try the spp again. If same issue, delete the app, then reload it. ( no charge). You may just have a bad copy. If continues, write to the developer, they may need to do an update. I have an older version of the same app and it works fine.
Since yours is the ad supported version, they are maing real sure you see the ad. Is it as simple as you need to click thru the ad to get to the game?

You have to determine that by doing your own research. You can't take the word of a stranger on a website. That's how you got into difficulty in the first place.
You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
