On screen buttons unresponsive

Suddenly since last night On screen buttons started behaving abruptly. They arent responsive and have to tap them multiple times before getting some response. But rest of the screen response is doing perfect. Yesterday morning I performed a factory reset from safe mode. I installed the inbuilt avast antivirus and just whatsapp and es explorer. This is the first time i installed that avast. But for the whole day phone didnt gave any issue. I dont want to send my phone to xperia center as they will flash it to the buggy lollipop which I dotn want to.

I'd suggest that you do a PC Companion phone repair, this will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. It will solve such software glitches better than factory reset.
Open PC companion -> Support zone -> Phone/tablet software update -> Repair my phone/tablet (blue link style). Follow the steps given, do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable.

  • Weak/bright screen, buttons unresponsive

I have a black 1GB iPod Nano, about 5-6 months old I believe. I'm not sure what happened to it, but it is not operating correctly. (My only guess is that I had it in my bag with my water bottle, but my iPod never seemed to be wet so I don't know.)
Anyway, my screen is overly bright all of a sudden. I don't know if that is the correct term, but what I mean is that everything looks normal, but I can hardly make out the display.
I followed the Five R's and now I'm stuck on the language selection screen. I have a feeling the iPod would work (despite the screen), BUT all my buttons, except the hold switch, are totally unresponsive. They do feel somewhat stiff or "sticky".
Any advice would be greatly be appreciated. I have feeling I'll have to take it in. I just hope I don't get screwed over.

You can run a test on the screen for hardware failure.
Type "DE" on the keyboard, this will get you to "device Info",
Select the drop-down preferences menu at the top of the screen,
    Select "Tests", then "Interactive Tests",
    Select "Touch Sensors", then "Start",
    Follow the steps provided.
If the tests fail, you may need to get a replacement device.

  • Incredible 2 ...Screen & Buttons Unresponsive...Cant Factory Reset...what now?

This is a replaecment phone Ive had for 32 days.  It wasnt dropped and had no water damage.  SImply stopped functioning.  The 4 bottom buttons wont work, he screen barely recognizes touch.  It wont factory reset, and to top it all off, my Settings App "is no longer installed" on my phone.  **bleep** could have happened?  This is some weird **bleep** and its maddening, seeing as how it woeked one moment and the next...nothing.  Any advice?   Will the insurance company or Verizon replace this?  What a racket...

    Try resetting with this method...
Press the Power buttonfor 3 - 5 seconds.
    Select Power off.
If the device isn't responding proceed with step 3.
    Remove / replace the battery.
Press and hold the Volume down key then press and hold the Power buttonfor 3 to 5 seconds.
When the HBOOT screen appears, release the Volume down key.
Press the Volume key to select FACTORY RESET then press the Power button.
This boot process takes several moments. If the device hangs or freezes, remove / replace the battery.
    Perform Initial Activation / Setup.

  • Touch Screen Buttons on HP Officejet Pro 8600 are Unresponsive

Just installed new ink in the printer and the message stating "Genuine HP Ink Cartridges Installed" messsage appears.  I try to press the OK button on the screen and it is unresponsive.  The "?" button off the screen works, as well as the back button to the left of the screen to exit the ? screen.  The display is working as the screen is able to display different messages and such, but I am unable to use the touch screen to press the on-screen buttons.
When I try to get to the factory reset screen by pressing the back button during startup, it doesn't work.  I think the Genuine Ink message overrides it, making me have to press the OK button before being able to do anything else.  The printer can still print, I'm just unable to use the scanning and faxing features because of this issue as I'm not able to get into their respective menus on the screen.

Hello @AlexC_BCCL , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing control panel issues. I would love to try and help you, but I do need a little information first. I am linking a few HP Support documents below that will show you how to find which operating system you are using. Also, if you're using Windows, please include whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
In the meantime, I'd recommend a power reset on the printer.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • After iOS 7.0.2 update: Freeze on lock screen, blackout & unresponsive for 5 min then the phone restarts itself

Happened after iOS 7.0.2 update a few times (2x this morning): Freeze on lock screen, "blackout:" unresponsive to any buttons pressing, after 3-5 minutes the phone restarts itself and works again... (1) May I ask what can I do? I am trying to reset it and recovering the data from backup. (2) Can a virus cause this problem?

To rule out a software issue, set it up as new device without using the latest backup.

  • Part of my iPad screen is unresponsive!

Part of my iPad screen is unresponsive, whenever I am sliding an object across the screen and I get to that bit, it's acts as if I have lifted my finger off? Help its brand new

Have you tried rebooting, resetting all settings or restoring the iPad? It could very well be a problem with the screen that no software solution can solve, but give those a try.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.

  • ITouch Screen is unresponsive

My iPod touch 2rd generation has a weirdly unresponsive touchscreen. I didn't do anything to it and it seems that the entire middle section of the heat sensor screen is unresponsive. I tried to restore and reinstall and everything but that just didn't work. One reason being that whenever I try restoring it from iTunes, my computer freezes. I've also tried reinstalling iTunes and it always seemed to have the same problem. I managed to restore it manually using the "Erase All Content and Settings" from the Setting's App. And now I've loaded on back my apps and music. Since I haven't done anything it comes up with the edit home screen dismiss part and I'm stuck on that. Any help?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Anyone has this screen getting unresponsive problem ?

Been using the iPhone for about 2 weeks now. Since yesterday, at times the screen becomes unresponsive ? ( touch screen doesn't work ). No matter what I do, nothing works at that time. It says "Slide to unlock", but i cannot slide.... When someone calls...it says "Slide to answer" but I cannot slide.... makes it completely, unusable when this happens !! I rebotted the phone by pressing the top-key and home button for a few seconds and it starts working again... So, far so good... But I'm afraid the "unresponsiveness" might happen again !!
    Anyone had similar problems ?
    Thanks for sharing.
    -VS

I'm having the same issues. About half of the times i want to use the "Slide to unlock", I find it being stuck. It will work again when I press the Standby button twice (once to darken the screen, once again to bring the slider back up).
I'm very unhappy with this fault anyway, and whenever this happens and a call comes in, I'm unable to answer it, because "Slide to answer" doesn't work as well.
Apart from that, the screen and iPhone work perfectly.
I tried to reboot, didn't help. Then I tried to restore, didn't help as well.
The first time i realized the issue was with 1.1.3, it didn't get any better with 1.1.4.
Now I've downgraded to 1.1.2. again, and I'll keep an eye on it.
It seems to work now as it should - I'll let you know if I have get the issue.
In case it works fine with 1.1.2., I'd take it for granted that this is a software bug, which will hopefully be adressed with the next firmware update.
