I have a 27" iMac mid 2011 2.7 GHz intel core i5 with OS 10.10.1. For about the last month when I shut down I get a window that says "Continue the installation Choose abort if you wish to cancel the installation ABORT YES". If I don't press anything or if I choose ABORT or Yes the message goes away and the computer shuts down. But the next time I use the computer and then shut down the message is back. I have looked to see if there are any downloads pending or if there are any updates trying to download. I am very puzzled.
Genieo Adware is installed. Removing it will help.
If you have another browser installed, use it.
If not, launch App store and get another browser for temporary use.
Remove it afterwards.

I have an EZ Vinyl/Tape Converter (MixMeister) to record vinly records to my computer; which then is supposed to automatically download to my iTunes program. But it does not. It records and stores (somewhere) in the computer, but when it is supposed to be exported into iTones, I get a window that says something about incompatability and/or "close other windows in iTunes; but there are no open windows and iTunes is closed. And of course I click on Yesl, but I keep getting the same window message. I read somewhere, that MixMeister is not compatible with Apple iTunes 10 series versions. The advice said to go to control panel; Programs; click on iTunes; click on Change; click on Repair. I tried that, but I still get the same window message. Then I read that I should contact the mixmeister support website, which will be my next step. But if you can provide any direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again!

After moving all photographs from my first catalogue, which was a mess, to a new catalogue, it all worked fine. Until that is I tried to open the new catalogue, which had worked OK all day. I now get a window that says "Unexpected error, select another catalogue."
OK, restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more is corrupt. To restart in Safe Mode when you hear the start up tone hold down the Shift Key until you see a progress bar. Let it fully boot then restart normally and test.
Also I am assuming you have checked Finder - Preferences - General and see what boxes are checked in "Show these items on desktop." You can also mount an item in Disk Utility, simply highlight it and then look in the File menu for Mount..... -
During CS5 master collection update on Windows 7, 64-bit laptop, I get the error "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later." This has been happening for the past few days. Can someone help me getting my updates?

Can't open desktop - I get a window that says no application has been found to open the document desktop.

ThanksIt may be that a "metadata attribute" called the "bundle bit" has somehow been set on the Desktop folder, such that the system treats it as a "package" rather than as a folder.
To check for this, click on the Desktop, type command-I (Get Info), and look in the General section of the Info window under "Kind". It should say "Kind: Folder" - if it instead says "Kind:package," then I would proceed as follows:
Download and run the utility File Matey. From its "Choose an Object" window, navigate to the Desktop folder and click Choose. In the next window, see if the box for "Has Bundle bit" is checked:
If so, then uncheck it, and click Apply, then Save. -

Do all of those in order - although I almost guarantee you won't need to perform the last step.
Sounds like your phone is just getting a resource error. -
When I repair disk permissions using Disk Utility and it says it's completed the task, I click on it again and it repairs more. This has been going on for hours now. Could there be that many wrong permissions? Should it get to "all repaired" eventually?
It's normal behavior. You don't have to worry about. Most of what's listed is just a report of what the utility finds., not necessarily that there is omething wrong.

Trying to burn data on a CD-R disk, but then I get a window that says, "Burning failed" , and that one of the volumes on the disc is still in use", so what does this mean? Not sure what they mean by volume still in use, this apparentely is keeping me from burning info such a pictures and or video's, how can I fix this?

You have a disc inside your optical drive.

When I try to download applications such as Internet Explorer, Yugma, and iTunes in Firefox, I just get a window that says "save" or "cancel", but never one that says "run" so I don't think it's actually installing anything. It shows up in a "download" window, then the icon shows up on my desktop. When I click on it to launch it, it says "open with" and I get the same "save/cancel" window. It's a continuous circle. Because of how integrated it is with windows IE should work. If it's not working, something more widespread could be wrong with your computer that would also prevent other browsers from working properly. Of course we'd love you to stick with Firefox, but you should get help with IE, too. -
I have an Acrobat 8 which is all I need. Installed on my new computer which is using Windows 8. Each time I open Acrobat I get a window that say unable to registrator. It gives me three options try again, redo, never register. No matter which option I choose I cannot stop the window from opening each time I open the computer.
Any suggestions?Probably far too old to register. Sounds like a bug, stopping the "never" selection from working. You may be stuck with it.

My Iphone has a problem with the microphone it doesn't seem to work! so there for i can't use Siri anymore.. this has been playing up for some time now. But as my wife & I had a baby 7 Months ago I have not found the time to pop in to the apple store until today (8/12/13) and they told me that they couldn't help as it's out of it's warranty by 57 days

Hi, I have to invoke a Java stored procedure from a PL/SQL stored proc. In the Java stored proc I open a database connection & execute some SQLs. To do this can I use the same connection that is used to invoke the PL/SQL stored proc. In other words c
