On startup app tabs also appear as normal tabs, why?

I have Firefox 4.0, newly updated on a Macbook Pro running OS 10.6.7
I have 4 app tabs and 4 other tabs open as standard.
I have set home by going to preference and selecting use curent tab set for home.
When I start Firefox it opens the 4 app tabs as app tabs and then also opens them AGAIN as normal tabs, plus the four others I expect.
Have I misunderstood something or is this a bug? Is there a solution?

This can be a problem with the files [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
* Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
You will have to redo App Tabs and Tab Groups after deleting sessionstore.js.

So the menu bar reads iChat, File, Edit, View, Buddies, Video, Window and Help
There is no Buddy List open.
There is no other window for iChat open.
In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
Is an item ticked in the list ?
Is this a green (Available item) or Red ( an Away one) ?
Can you access the Accounts option ? (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
Is anything in here ticked ?
In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
Type in:-
~/Library/Preferences
Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.

I switched to fullscreen mode and now I can't find the app tab to put it back to normal?

I wanted to see what fullscreen mode in the new beta looked like and now I cannot find the app tab with the print, history, bookmarks, options, etc. It used to be up in the left top corner, and said "Firefox" (it was orange). I don't like this style of screen, now that I've seen it, and would like to go back to normal, and assume I need to uncheck it in that app tab. The regular Shift+F11 (or F10, or F12, whatever it is - I just keep hitting buttons till it works) that works for most programs on PC does not work.

Apps downloaded in iTunes Store do not appear under iTunes Apps tab

Apps downloaded in the iTunes Store (either as updates to existing apps or as new) do not appear under the 'Apps' tab in iTunes.
iTunes requests my Apple ID and password and the files will download afterward. However, they do not appear in the 'Apps' tab. This is confirmed by right-clicking >> Get Info. No update to the version and new apps do not appear.
Of note, I am running Lion an iMac 3.06 Core 2 Duo w/ iTunes 10.7.
My iTunes Library is located on a Mac Mini Server running Lion Server. I've checked permissions and every folder and library file is set to 'Read & Write' so it doesn't appear to be a permissions issue.
Any ideas?

When I pin my Yahoo mail to an app tab, it does not open properly on next startup. Gmail works fine.

I really like the app tab feature, and am using it for those sites that I keep open when I am on line (my blogs, my emails, my websites, my calendar). My yahoo mail refuses to open from the app tab after closing the browser and opening it again. I keep myself logged in at yahoo, just as I do for my gmail account. GMail works perfectly every time, opening my inbox right away. Generally, I have to open Yahoo mail in a new tab, unpin the old one, try to re-pin the new one . . . ad infinitum . . . You get the picture? It might be a Yahoo issue, meaning I have to log in from yahoo home every time if I want it as an app tab.

Love App Tabs but have several that just show a white page as icon how do I get them to appear as a site logo?

I love the new App Tabs but have several that when pinned just show a white page as the icon, so you have to mouse over them to figure out which one is which. Example is bankdirect.co.nz. Is there a way of getting the site logo to show up so you can see what is what at a glance but still have the nifty space saving size of the App Tab? Thanks!

Thanks for that. I have to say that there were a couple of screens that appeared to show both the iPhone and iPad and it was the iPad that was showing the icon!
It is not life threatening, I just thought that something had not installed as it should have.

I had heard that these switches didn't stack unless everything was identical.
I only tried it at all out of pure desperation.
I've applied and tested every version 3 firmware in standalone mode via a console cable and xmodem.
They either never come up properly receiving decompression errors and reboot constantly in a loop.
Occasionally they stall / jam and stay there displaying the same error with no rebooting.
And twice out of 80-100 times I got it to boot to the username and password screen in standalone mode.
But as soon as I made a change it crashed and started the rebooting cycle again.

App Tabs Duplicated on Startup - SOLVED

I love the app tab feature and have about 5 of my most common sites pinned as App Tabs. However...every time I start FF4 it opens the App Tabs (as expected) and ALSO opens regular tabs for each of those 5 sites.
I've tried just opening one, unrelated, site and going in and setting the "Home Tabs" to "Use Current" but every time I restart it opens the app tabs AND six regular tabs (one for each app tab and one for the other site I wanted as a home page.
How I can I get FF4 to just opent the app tabs and one page?

Small white square appears after using "Preferences" under the Apple sign. It is on top of approx 3 app tabs which cannot be used.

On the device you do not want the auto downloads to be installed on: Settings/iTunes & App Store. Deselect what you do not want to be automatically downloaded.

Actually, I thnk my post is right on point. Here is my logic:
He's already move up to iCloud according to the OP. So, the question is, "What function would an icon serve?" Since the Settings selections only turn specific functions on or off, my assumption is that the OP was looking for management options and user functionality, so as the ability to add a calendar entry directly into the calendar on iCloud. As we both know, you can only do that using a laptop or desktop. Many newbies do not understand that the only way to make a calendar entry, for example, from a phone is to use the calendar app.
If, on the other hand, the OP is looking to set up an account, then you are correct.

When I control-click my existing tabs to create an app tab nothing giving me the option to create an app tab appears. It only says "reload tabs," "new tab," "new bookmark," and other general menu options. You can't make App Tabs in Firefox 3.6.x versions. 
You need to update to the latest Firefox 5.0.1 version to get App tabs.
