On the mini ipad how many gb is the best to get?

I would like to get a mini ipad and would like to ask is 16gb ok to get- or is the 32gb better? Unsure of which to get.
I would appreciate any info or suggestions on this.
Thank you.
Carol

I started with a 32GB iPad when I bought the original iPad in 2010. When the iPad 3 came out, I decided to purchase another 32GB model. The store where I was making the purchase had no 32GB iPads left in stock. I was making the purchase the day after the iPad launched. I gave in and purchased a 64GB model because I did not want to leave without a new iPad. I can tell you today, that I am glad that I made that decision. Obviously it depends on what you plan to do with your iPad, how much space you will need, but you will be surprised how quickly you can fill up the storage especially of you are a gamer, and/or a movie collector.
I would go with the biggest one that you can comfortably afford.

  • How many screen-on time are you getting while playing?

    How many screen-on time are you getting while playing games on the iPad Mini Retina? I'm planning to buy one and use it mainly for games. I currently own a Samsung Tab S 8.4 which can only last 4 hours screen-on time while playing Clash of Clans.

    Unfortunately no one can give you an exact length of time. The stated battery life on an iPad is in the 10 hour area. But there are so many variables that it's impossible to give you any sort of exact length.
    I would GUESS, if you spent the whole day gaming on a fresh charge, you may get 5-6 hours but that is a total blind guess. some games demand more power than others so there is no set way to know.

    i cannot remeber my password i put on when i restricted my account ..( caution for 10 yr old daughter) but now i can't remember it. i' m on my 9th try ... will  get locked out after a certain amount of attempts... any suggestions .  i dont want to have to start over ( i think i read that somewhere how many tries do i get?

    Not sure if there is a limit for the number of attempts for it, but if you can't remember the restrictions code then was it on the iPad when you last backed up ? If not then you can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then the only way to remove it is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the iPad - you won't be able to restore to the backup as that will keep the code in place.

    Finally I solved my problem(getting as many images as possible from a url infinitely) using the above code:
    import java.net.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class UserApplication {
        private static int n=0;
        String url;
      public void UserApplication(){

            app.urlStr();
        private void urlStr(){
            try{
                url= "http://mplamplampla/frame.php/";
                HttpURLConnection con=(HttpURLConnection) ((new URL(url).openConnection()));
                BufferedOutputStream out = new BufferedOutputStream( new FileOutputStream("C:\\Users\\mpla\\Desktop\\" + n + ".jpeg"));
                con.setDoInput(true);
                con.setDoOutput(false);
                con.setRequestMethod("GET");
                BufferedInputStream in = new BufferedInputStream(con.getInputStream());
                int bt = 0;
                byte[] buffer = new byte[4096];
                while ((bt = in.read(buffer, 0, 4096)) > -1) {
                  out.write(buffer, 0, bt);
                in.close();
                out.close();
                System.out.println("Image " + n + " saved");
                n++;

  • How many years can I expect to get out of a MBP?

    Hi All,
    I'm considering an Apple laptop. Being a graphics professional, I think I want to go with the MPB so I can run the Adobe CS4 Suite (et. al.) while away from my desk.
    How many years of useful life should I expect to get (or plan to get) from a laptop? Barring any hardware failures or accidents, can I expect it to reasonably run CS4(+), OS10.5(+), font manager, etc., and connect to the internet etc. for say, 4-5 years? What's reasonable for a laptop's useful life?
    Would I want to purchase the fastest processor(s) and biggest HD in the MBP? I'm thinking the 15-inch 2.66Ghz, 250G 7200rpm HD. Heck, my G5 only has 150G on its HD, and the dual 2Ghz non-Intel chip. Purchased in '04, it seems to still have quite a bit of life to it.
    Thanks in advance for your advice--D
    Or, should I consider something less powerful that can augment my desktop? I just want to be able to get away from the office every once in a while and still get some work done.

    {quote}
    Leopard requires at least a PowerPC G4 processor at 867MHz or faster, meaning G4 towers released prior to 2001 (and select models into 2002) don't meet the spec.
    {quote}
    Ah, I see. Yep, got it in early 2000.
    {quote}
    One question there, though - your G4 desktop was upgradeable, but did you upgrade yours? Add anything to those expansion bays? Put in a larger HDD? If you answer no to those questions, consider the fact that you may not ever upgrade a desktop you purchase in the future.
    {quote}
    Excellent point. I never upgraded the chip or anything, and eventually decided not to update/add to any of the memory (HD or RAM) because I felt I'd get better bang for my buck with a newer/faster machine altogether. I recently resurrected it to hook it up to our new TV to see if we could watch downloaded movies on it, which is what generated that whole conversation about it only being able to handle Tiger, as it's got 10.2 and needs to be updated to interface adequately with the Big Bad Internet World.
    My G5 has become sluggish lately, and although I added another 2G of RAM it doesn't seem to affect it much. Back on topic, I wonder if I get the laptop will I grow tired of it or will it grow too slow in less time than the current desktop...
    As eww so rightly points out in his reply, I guess I have to decide if I want the latest-greatest on my laptop, or can I live with using versions that the computer can handle. And, do I shell it out for the fastest/baddest, or will I get the same longevity (or lack) with the middle of the road machine.
    For my professional software, my strategy has been to upgrade every other time, unless there's some new feature that will make my life absolutely heavenly. It seems like Adobe is slinging out the new versions faster than my budget can handle. Last summer I finally updated to the latest from Office v.X. And the only reason I did that is because my clients have been sending me text files in the latest Win versions of Office (docx and pptx) that I couldn't open. (And it's not good customer service to ask them to save them as txt files and resend.)
    Typical scenario:
    On my G5 I'm still using Tiger because I'm too cheap to buy the upgrade. (Every time I upgrade my OS I lose something--printer drivers, favorite features in my browser, font manager compatibility, whatever, there's always something I else need to upgrade besides the OS, always.)
    Although I'm running Adobe CS3, I have the CS4 suite. CS4 will run on 10.4.11, but the font manager's auto-activation doohickey (which I would have to buy) for CS4's apps only works with OS10.5. So things potentially could get expensive. The only reason I have CS4 is because I bought CS3 a week before CS4 came out. The font manager (Suitcase) is really a lifesaver, and therefore it's pretty necessary. STOP the madness! LOL! (There's another font manager out there that is pretty good and cheaper, so that may be an option.)
    Okay, I'm babbling now. I appreciate your wise words to guide my thinking. Time to get nose to grindstone so I can afford that nifty laptop!
    Thanks--d

  • I have just got a mini ipad and I am looking for best deal on a pay as you go basis, ideally useage up to 90 days

    I have just purchased a mini ipad and am looking for a pay as you go connection, not a contract and would like something for up to 90 days.  Can anyone advise me which is the best deal.  I live in Falmouth Cornwall UK and some services are limited.  I can get Three where I am and it seems I can get 3 Gbs for about £20 which lasts 90 days and I think I can get O2 for 90days, that is 5 Gbs for I think about £30. - though it seems that the coverage may not be great.  Can anyone suggest any better deals or have any ideas please

    The Everything Packs only include UK calls, text & data. So if you have no credit you won't be able to use it abroad. Once you top up you will be able to call & text from abroad, but no data for which you will need a Euro add-on.

  • How many days did it take to get MB from Apple Online

    so im planning to buy a white mb from apple online store, it says 5-7 days to deliver, but i have read some users to wait up to 14 days to get a MB delivered.
    How many days did it take since you placed the order, and got your MB delivered?
    thanks!

    I CTO'd
    (configured to Order) online 17 minutes after the
    public announcement that Apple was taking orders. I
    went into the Apple store to actually look at the
    MacBook three hours later when the Apple store
    opened. The salesmen (several of them) told me then
    it would take about a week before delivery while my
    order statement said two weeks.
    The machine came Federal Express (I didn't order
    special shipping) from China within 5 working days.
    It has run perfectly from the day I got it.
    Good to hear that you are having no problems, Tim. I CTOd the same configuration (Black/120GB/2GB) last Tues and it will arrive tomorrow or Tues (shipped from China late Thurs and was in L.A .. via Anchorage and Indianapolis .. by Sat morning).
    I'll dual-boot it so I can travel without this iBook plus a WinXP machine: One MacBook will be more workable.

  • How many new accounts before I start getting denied for an auto loan in Oct? (Fico 8 score 820)

    As I understand, DCU gives some fantastic auto loan terms (1.5% for its members, which can be anybody from the general public), and they want mostly 680 and above to qualify for that rate. So you're possibly fine unless maybe you hit double digits in inquiries?  Now I also understand that you might qualify for 0% financing at some places; their models (the auto enhanced ones) might penalize more harshly than FICO 08 for opening up new CC accounts so you may want to be careful with that.  The current MyFICO package offers those scores as well, I believe. Why don't you check where you are with all the new accounts w.r.t auto enhanced scoring?

Given my score and history, how many new accounts before I start running into trouble? I applied for 2 new CC so far. I'm going to APP for another 1-2. So in October this is what my inquires will look like: (4 new inquiries)Hard Inquires with past 6 months: EXP: 2-3. • How many hours of video do I get with 4GB or more on a memory card?

    I'm going on a vacation for four days and I'm assuming I'll be recording around an hour each day. How many GB's should I look for in a memory card? I thought there would be some easy to find standards on this, but I guess I have to consider fps and possibly other factors like the type of camcorder or memory card. More specifically, I'm interested in the Kodak - Pocket Video Camera which records in HD, if I purchased an 8 GB memory card and recorded at 30 fps, would this suffice?

    Yimi wrote:
    @ Cdy291, that's helpful, but I can't find where you found that info on their site, so I can look up similar information like how many minutes I get to a GB, recording in VGA mode...
    @ Entropy, 2 hours on a 16GB card that costs from 80 to 100 dollars is just riduculous to me, I want a decent looking video, but I'm not filming a wedding or anything. Really, I just want as much video time for each MB as possible without quality suffering too, too bad. I'm curious about the standard recording quality that you mentioned, I figured HD is the new "standard" and most camcorders record in HD. The camcorder I'm interested in records in VGA as well which is supposably 480x640 pixel resolution, I'm wondering if this would be considered standard definition? If VGA isn't that bad in quality, I'm still trying to figure out if I can get away with buying an 8GB card and have more than 2 hours and 40 mintues in HD 30 fps.
    VGA is standard definition.  You'll get a lot more time out of it.
    Also, flash memory is currently $30-40 per 16GB card, not 80-100, depending on brand and speed rating.  (The Transcend Class 6 cards I use in my HF100 currently sell for $40, and I'm looking at a Kingston Class 4 card for $30.)
    Given the choice between a "cheap" HD camcorder and using it in SD mode (like some of the pocket units) and a "good" SD camcorder, I'd go with the good SD camcorder, like a Canon FS200 or one of Panasonic's flash memory camcorders.
    Canon makes excellent units but unfortunately their FS series only offers electronic image stabilization, not optical image stabilization.  For a standard def unit you may want to go with Panny.
