On the re-installation of Premier Elements 12

I have Windows Vista on a 5 1/2 year old computer. I expect that this computer is near the end of its lifetime.  I've used a box version of Premier Elements for years. (The box version made it easy to reinstall after crashes.)  I have just downloaded Premier Elements 12. I see that my purchase allows only two downloads of the software. I am unclear what exactly this means.
I have one computer.  If I buy a second computer in the future, can I use the second download to install Premier Elements? I mean, Is there a time limit on the use of the second download?
Assume I have used up both downloads. I have an activation code (unlock key). If my computer crashes and I am rebuilding, how can I re-install the PE software? I hope that after a crash I would not have to purchase PE again.

With version 12, you can have the program activated on two computers at any given time. There's no time limit. You own the license forever.
You can install it on pretty much as many computers as you'd like. Logging in to the program activates it; logging out of the program de-activates it.
So you can have the program on, for instance, three or even more computers, as long as it's only activated on two at a time. Make sense?

I downloaded the new upgrade for Premier Elements 13 the other day, and every since then my program will hardly operate and cannot do most functions.  What can I do?

    Bill
I went to the Premiere Elements 13 tryout page at the Adobe web site and downloaded the tryout. I used the Firefox browser (latest version).
These are the details according to what was presented to me today
    1. In choice of download, I selected Multiple LanguagesIWindows 64 bitI 1.67 GB. I do not have a Windows 7 or 8 32 bit computer.
In your case, you would expect that you used used Multiple LanguagesIWindows 1.50 GB (which would have been the 32 bit version
in agreement with your Windows 7 or 8 32 bit computer.
    2. When I pressed the Download button, there appeared
    Akamai Download Manager
Browse For Folder dialog - (where I designated Desktop as my save location for the saved file/folders from the download)
    3. The first file to download was the .7z which is named Premiereelements 13_LS26_win64.7z (in my case, in yours it should be ...._win32.7x)
    File 1 of 2.
The second file to download was the .exe which is named PremiereElements 13_LS26_win64.exe (in my case, in yours it should be..._win32.exe)
    4. When "3" is finished, automatically the Install Now comes up with a dialog regarding the .exe with an Open button. Click on the Open button.
    5. Next there is a Folder Location dialog which I had set
    C:\Uses\Owner\Desktop\Adobe Premiere Elements 13
I clicked next in this Folder Location dialog.
    6. Next there was an Adobe Premiee Elements 13 dialog "Preparing Files" with mention of "Extracting Files".
When the extraction process was complete, there was the automatic appearance of the Files Are Ready with a check mark next to
"Launch Adobe Premiere Elements 13. There I clicked the Finished button.
    7. Next up was the Adobe Installer dialog and the "Initializing Installer" message.
    8. Next came the Welcome dialog with choices of Install or Try. I selected Try.
If you have a purchased serial number already, I assume that you can click install and use your purchased serial number.
    9. Next came the sign In Required dialog where I click the Sign In button.
    10. Next the Adobe Software License Agreement to which I clicked Accept.
    11. Next the Options dialog -
Adobe Premiere Elements 13 4.1 GB
    Language English (North America)
    Location C:\Program Files\Adobe
to all of 11 I clicked Install.
and said Yes to User Account Control pop up.
    12. Automatic Install from there on.
When I looked at my desktop I found saved there
    a. the .exe file
    b. the .7x file
    c. an Adobe Premiere Elements 13 Folder
any of which I believe I could have installed from as I have described to you previously.
If you cannot get the above to work, then you can try going through the process of getting the Adobe Premiere Elements 13 tryout
    from
Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Direct Download Links, Premiere too | ProDesignTools
There you will end up with the .exe and .7z downloads. After you download and save these two to your desktop, then you begin the
process by double clicking the exe and following the on screen instructions.
Please review the above and determine how much of it you have been through before and the choices that you have made along the way.

I recently had some 8mm film transferred to DVD. I am trying to edit the film clips using Premier Elements 4.0. so I can reburn the films on a single BluRay disc. Some of the film clips copy into the project but others don't. I tried copying the VOB filed onto my hard drive and then changing the file extensions on the VOB files to MPEG but this was no help. Some of the VOB files contain numerous film clips but my software does not appear to be able to recognize them as such. I need to know if replacing my old Premier Elements with the new Version 13 would solve this problem or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    What do you have now.....
What computer operating system do you have?
We can go into the finer points of source and your intentions, but for now it would appear that you are using SD 4:3 source media to get to a HD 16:9 result. Lots to discuss in this regard.
What was given to you on the DVD disc? DVD-VIDEO 4:3 or something else?
If DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, you should expect to find on the disc a folder named VIDEO_TS. That is your target for your video files.
If you were given a DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, then all you want from it are the video files, specifically
VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, and so on through that series until possibly getting to
VTS_02_1.VOB, and so on. How many files you have beyond the VTS_01_1.VOB file will depend on the size of the DVD-VIDEO.
Does the above scenario apply to you?
The alternative might be someone giving a DVD disc (data disc) which contains just the VTS files mentioned which were copied from
the VIDEO_TS Folder. So, you do not get the whole VIDEO_TS Folder, just the essential video files. Does this scenario apply to you.
I see no need to replace your Premiere Elements 4 with a later version unless you have a huge project and need a later version that will be a 64 bit application running specifically on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer.
Consider...Premiere Elements 4 and if you have DVD-VIDEO on DVD....
    1. Place the DVD disc in the burner tray
    2. Open Premiere Elements 4 and set the project preset for NTSC DV Standard (assuming you are working in a NTSC setup)
    3. Go to
    Get Media
"DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader"
"Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" and its Advanced dialog.
Set the Source in the latter dialog for the drive which has your DVD disc inserted in its tray
You should see your VTS_01_1.VOB thumbnail in the "Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" Advanced dialog.
With this VOB selected, click on Get Media to get the file from there into the project.
    Should work fine.
Complications may be involved if the people who processed your footage gave you something other what is described above.
Please review and consider, and then we can plan our project strategy accordingly.
    Thank you.

  • Installation of Premier Elements 8.0.

I have tried to install Premier Elements 8.0 ionto my Administartor account without success. I run Windows 7.0 Pro 64 bit. When the program installs it eventually "rolls back" because of error 1304....it asks to verify that I have access to Elements8.0\DigitalHome\msvcr71.dll and also DigitalHome\readme txt. Help would be much appreciated.

May be a compatibility issue you can't get by. Try to install the MSVC runtimes manually by downloading them from Microsoft and alos run the installer in Win XP compatibility mode.

  • Can't get past the licensing screen in Premier Element 10. I've had the program for 2 years with no problems at all. Suddenly the licensing window shows up and won't go away. AMD processor - ASUS MOBO - Win 7x64

Out of the clear blue - the  Premier Elements Organize "Licensing Agreement" shows up on my screen. I click "Accept" - it goes away - and within 5 seconds pops up again. I can't get past it. I've used the program successfully for over 2 years. Anybody else having this problem? I use Win 7 x64, I have TONS of disk space (read over 570 GB free on "C Drive"). I have 12GB of DDR3 Memory. I'm using an AMD  6 Core processor with an ASUS mobo. All other programs work fine including several other Adobe programs.

Have you done a Tools/Error Checking for the Local Disk C?
    Then, maybe
In your uninstall/reinstall troubleshooting, have you
    a. uninstalled using the usual Control Panel route
    b. did a ccleaner run through with its regular and registry cleaning parts
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
    c. reinstall with antivirus and firewalls Off.
I have been doing some searches....any chance you have a RAID configuration change in your computer environment?
Can you right clicked the program desktop icon and select Run As Administrator? If so, please do so. Are you still running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?
You might want to take a look at some of my encounters with activating Premiere Elements and see if there is anything in that which applies to your situation.

  • Is there a problem with the 32bit installer for Premiere Elements 10.0?

When i download and unzip the program there is not setup.exe in the folder.  There was no problem with the 64bit version.

Have you already installed Premiere Elements?  If so there is no need to try to install the 32-bit version.  The installer detects and installs the version appropriate to your operating system.

  • Is there a waveform monitor for the audio track in premier elements 13?

trying to fine tune audio, getting hits on the supplied sound tracks.

    Dave W
Thanks for the last two replies with details that turned around my approach to your question. It was not until your post 3 when you mentioned Music Scores did I realize that you were referring to Music Scores developed in the concept of being able to adjust their duration without altering music arrangement. You were not referring to non-Music Score music.
In the case of Premiere Elements Music Scores, I see no way to visualize their waveform in the Premiere Elements audio tracks. Double clicking a Timeline Music Score brings up the Score Properties dialog and not the Preview Window to inspect the waveform.
When "non Music Score" music is imported into Premiere Elements, it goes through a conforming process which automatically generates the cfa (audio) file and pek (waveform in audio track) file. And, these files are characterized by a waveform visible on the audio track with the appropriate audio display format. For each audio conformed, there are two files generated by the program, cfa (audio) and pek (related to waveform seen in the audio track).
When you drag a Music Score to the Premiere Elements 13 soundtrack, first you see "Generating" and "Conforming" and then Score Property dialog .When all is said and done, the Music Score is in the audio track with no waveform. If you go looking in the Media Cache Folder to determine if a cfa and pek set exist there after use of one Music Score (Drama in this example), you should find that the Drama conforming process generated 71, not 2 files, representing cfa and pek sets.
With regard to hard drive space...1 non Music Score file's conformed audio files might be expected to take up about 68.2 MB while one Music Score file's conformed audio files might
be expected to take up 263 MB.
Please take a look at what you have in the way of conformed audio in the Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit path
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Common
    Media Cache Files Folder
At this time I do not know the explanation for the absence of waveform in the Music Score representation on the Timeline audio track. Need to do more homework on that.
Please let me know if you confirm my observations above.
    Thank you.

  • Why can't I access the edit program in Premier Elements

I have successfully installed the purchased software for a second time. I can use organizer but when I try the edit mode the prompt reads `" download the trial software now ".

  • Premier elements 10 can't find a burner when using Windows 8.1 Would using a USB disc burner solve the problem?

Using Premier Elements10 with Windows8.1, the program cannot detect a burner. I understand that Windows8 designates the burner as a DVD in order to facilitate drag and drop. I don't want to get too technical and want to know if purchasing an external USB disc burner will solve the problem. Will premier elements be able to detect this burner OK. I don't want to spend the money unless I am fairly certain that it will work.

    marion567
There is no guarantee that you will not get a blank field for Premiere Elements Burner Location using any internal or external Blu-ray DVD CD burner or DVD CD burner.
If you go with an USB external burner, just make sure you have the back up of return/money back from the seller.
If you are dealing with just a DVD CD burner, you might try the following if you have not already
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cd-dvd-drive-recognized-application.html
You might also want to consider an uninstall/reinstall of Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 8.1 64 bit following the scheme of
    a. uninstall the usual Control Panel route
    b. free ccleaner run through CCleaner - Download
    c. reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled
The following is the Adobe document that goes to Supported Devices
    http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/kb/supported-devices-premiere-elements.html
Updating on that unknown. Right now, it is what it is. I have burners that work fine in Premiere Elements on
Windows 7 and 8.1 64 bit and they are not on the list.
Please let us know if any questions on the above or need clarification.

  • Installing the download of Premier Elements 13

Hi.  Maybe someone can help me.  I just downloaded the trial version of Premier Elements (64).  Running it, it first says preparing files - the bar runs off to the right and then... Well that's it, it goes no further and eventually Windows (8.1) reports 'Not responding'.  I have tried it a number of times with the exact same result...I even have left it for almost an hour to see if just maybe...nothing.  Is the downloaded file corrupt?  I don't exactly want to down load another 1.8gigs (I am not exactly on the fastest connection in the world, and it takes a number of hours for me to down load a file this size) just to find out the same problem.  Please any help will be good...Thanks

I made installation of Premier Elements 12, but it won't start. Windows says only there is something wrong "C:\Windows\system32\DCIMAN32.dll"

    Here's a common solution.
Try running the System File Checker.  Click on Start and type cmd in the "Search programs and files" box. Cmd.exe will appear at the top of the Menu. Rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Once the Command Prompt opens, type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes and hit Enter.  The System File Checker will start. It might take a while to complete so be patient. Reboot when it has completed and let us know if this helped.
