On the same iMac wifi can be connected in Win7 but not OSX Maverick

Hi All,
I'm encountering a problem of connecting to wifi on my new iMac. I'm wondering whether anyone in the community has also encountered the same problem.
My iMac is a late 2013 model with 21.7" display bought just 2 weeks again. The OSX installed is Maverick with the latest update. I have also installed Win7 using Bootcamp.
At the beginning, the wifi connection was OK both in OSX and Win7. However, just around 1 week ago, the network connection began to fail in OSX. When logging into the Win7, I can still connect to my router through the wifi and everything is OK. This at least can proves that the wireless adapter in the iMac itself doesn't malfunction and the router works fine. Also all the other devices in my home connects to the same router through wifi has no problem including 2 iPhone5, 1 iPhone4S, 1 iPhone4 and a MBA 2012 model.
However, whenever I switched to the OSX any try to connect to the wifi ends in a failure. The SSID of the network is displayed in the visible network list still but not connectable. By clicking the name and after a while for the iMac to try to connect, a message saying "network cannot be joined" will pop up. Even by running the network diagnosis and specifying a static ip address for the iMac won't help. And I have also tried out some tricks in the community but all seemed not work.
Really appreciate if someone can suggest and help.

    If you want a relevant answer you may have to elaborate on what you actually mean. Posting screenshots might help, too.
    In any case multiple conversions of an image are not advisable in general.

    Hi melbernai - not sure if you've solved this problem yet. I had the exact same problem recently with my 2nd Gen iPod Nano. I solved it yesterday by simply updating iTunes to the most recent version, after which I could get rid of the register screen. The only other thing I needed to do to add my custom playlists was select "Manually manage music" on the screen for my iPod, since it had been in an automatic synching mode since the problem occurred.

    My iMac continually can't always find my home network (mostly can't), it can see all the neighbours ones but not mine. My macbook, iPhone and apple tv have no issues and connect everytime so it's not the network.

    Try 'creating a new location', if you haven't already. Also, a few other things to try in this list of suggestions:
    Wifi problems seem to crop up a lot on here and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a 'one fix' solution.
    However, sometimes any one of the following can help although, unfortunately, not always. In no particular order:
    Check wifi security - if it's WEP change it to WPA or WPA2 (preferably, as it's more secure)
    Change the wifi channel on the router
    Create a new Network Location: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5289
    Reboot the router

    See, if your service name is added to your file. If not then add a new entry like;
    gsm.world =

    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = gsm))
    Where:
    gsm.world = your service through which you connect to databse.
    Host = ip address of machine where oracle server is running.
    sid = name of your database
    If you already have entry of service in TNSNAMES.ora file then paste you service here as is did , so that we can check because the error you are facing is only due to service problem. Please update........

  • Why can I connect to test but not to friends

    Sigh.
    My on going issues with iChat continues. Basically we have all but given up and for many weeks have just not bothered using our 'it just works' video chat.
    One question that keeps popping up is why can I connect to the apple test, why can my friends connect to the apple test, but why can we not connect to each other?
    More over we could all connect to each other prior to 10.4, no hardware or ISP has changed.
    I do appreciate the amount of help coming out of these boards, especially from Ralph, but the question has to be asked yet again, what are apple doing about this issue, everything was just fine with iChat in 10.3, I know I am not alone.
    Anyway if anyone can offer advice on why a ZOOM X4 router/modem or a Draytek Vigor 2600 does not work correctly or anyone is able to use these modems I would appreciate a reply. I would also like info on setting them up, even though they were just fine before.

    Possibly SIP aware and causing these problems.
    Symptoms:
    A small group of Buddies that you can connect to all the time.
    Another small group of Buddies you can connect to now and then.
    Depending on the size of your Buddy list, a larger group of non successful contacts.

    For the Zoom I looked at this page I can not see that this has the UPnP setting which would be easiest to set up.
    The page tells you and shows you what the set up pages look like to achieve Port Forwarding.

  • Printing is not correct. I can print to either my HP Photosmart printer or a pdf printer and I get the same thing. Strange looking letters and spacing but not normal reading print. Is there a way to set up my printing in version 4 beta?

    I can logon to Yahoo directly  with my wife's iPad. I can then send an email to my iMac. What I cannot do is send an email directly from her iPad to me - so I consider the problem is with iOS 7.0.3. All i get is a long 'sending' session that ends with "incorrect username or Password", but that cannot be right. I have deleted and re-created the account on the iPad - cleared Safari's history and cookies. Nothing changes. It seems to be very widespread this problem and as yet nothing coming from Yahoo or Apple. This is similar to the Windows' users experiences. Pity.

    Yes, you can use multiple iCloud accounts in multiple User Accounts on one computer, but, as you know not multiple iTunes Match accounts. Keep in mind that the two services are not the same.
    Since you've posted your question to the iTunes Match forum, which it really doesn't pertain to, you might want to also post it to the iCloud on my Mac forum.

    I have one (1) iMac and two (2) iPhones and two (2) iPads...
    I have set up two (2) login accounts on the same iMac... one for myself and another for my wife.
    Likewise I have setup iTunes account for myself and for my wife in both the logins... the problem occurs when I try and sync my wife's iPhone to her version of the iTunes...
    By the way I have authorised the same iMac with both the iTunes account so that me and my wife can have a individual setups and not mess with each others apps / music.

    Each iTunes account is linked to a different Apple ID.  Setup one iPhone with the Apple ID for your wife and the other with the Apple ID for yourself.  Then sync the iPhones to their respective login/iTunes accounts on the Mac.

    If you and your wife have separate user accounts on the Mac, then each of you will have separate libraries to sync. You can them maintain separate address books, calendars, apps, etc.

    Please do 2-3 SMC and PRAM resets back to back and retest. Also use new cables, they can go bad.

    I was in a hotel a few month a ago.  The hotel also had a portal page you have to sign in.  Of course the ATV didn't a web browser and could not sign in to the portal and connect to the Internet, so your iTunes didn't work.  (But your ATV should be connected to the router at that point already, just the portal won't open the port to pass through your ATV's traffic)
    So what I did was to use AirVideo app on my iPad and AirVideo server on my Mac. Selected the movie on  my iPad using the AirVideo app and then selected my AirPlay device on my iPad to AppleTV.  Because this setup didn't require iTunes, so there was no need for a live Internet connection, and just a connection to the hotel router was enough.  It was very easy.
    (Of course, you can subsititude the iPad with an iPhone here too)

    My wife and I share the same iCloud account with two separate email addresses.  She has been having problems periodically over the last serveral months accessing and receiving mail on our iPad and less frequently on our iMac.  I have not had as many issues, but recently have had difficulty attaching pdf files to my mail.  I can do it easily in Gmail on the same iMac!  Whats up?
    My iMac is getting old in the tooth, it is a 2006 model, not eligible for Mountain lion.  Our iPad is the first, updated to use ios5.

    I migrated to iCloud from Mobile Me.  In Mobil Me there was a family plan.  I'm not sure what it is called in iCloud.  It was my understanding that both our email addresses were part of the same plan.  At any rate my wife frequently has had problems accessing her mail on our iPad.  I have attributed all this to Lion not being as sharp as it could be or developmental problems with iCloud.  But I know from nothing.
    I'm not sure of anything, but I am relatively certain we have an iCloud account.  I didn't even know the iTunes had a mail feature.
