Yup, your question and Diane's answer helped me also. Tho' I had had problems before getting into the iTunes store I always managed to find a way. Today they had me blocked cold with the "Update to 10" advert no matter what I did. Other questioners are being told, incorrectly as it turns out, that they have to update their OS to accomodate iTunes 10 and upgrade to iTunes 10. I did the download which did not take up much more room on my crowded old hard drive and now I'm back in business.

The status bar is blocking my content, is there a way to disable it via Javascript and the likes?

I'm working on a site that requires a bottom footer in a fixed position, with a control button on the left hand side, my problem is, that the `new` status bar area covers this section for quite some time whilst it's requesting data, or waiting for the server, is there a way to disable it via JavaScript or some sort? It seems kind of silly for a status bar to cover your content (no offence), the old way was much nicer, sure it used more screen space, but atleast it didn't assume things. I just couldn't find a solution anywhere else, other than to move the button. :)

You can use this extension to hide the pop-up that shows the URL of a link on hover and other data that previously appeared on the Status bar.

The firefox button is gone. can't get it back. so now firefox is useless, but I really prefer firefox. HELP

Do you mean the orange Firefox button in the the top left hand corner?
If so, right click on toolbar space and uncheck Menu Bar - the button will appear.
Tab bar should re-appear as cor-el says. If not try right clicking in toolbar space, then checking and unchecking "Customize".

I upgraded Pages to the last version (v.5): how can I get to the previous one?

I have recently upgraded my OS to Mavericks and all the iWork applications to the new versions, including Pages. I DO NOT like Pages v.5 (the one with the yellow written page icon) and I prefer Pages version 4 (the one with the dark ink bottle icon) . Is there a way to get back to the previous version?

Be careful, as long as you have the new Pages on your system, it will try to use that version when. You must either:
Open the old Pages and then use the Open dialogue to open your documents, or
Control-click the document and use the Open with dialogue to open with the older version of Pages, or
Drag and drop the document file on the older version icon, or
delete the new version of Pages from your machine, then turn off the auto-update feature (so it doesn't automatically download again), and be prepared to be reminded at least once daily that the new Pages is available for updating.

you've made a lit of plug ins. Are those the ones on my computer? do you think those have an affect on my access via firefox? why would my access "lock up" while I was on firefox? why can't I now access my bank site?

This is a crazy circumstance of events. We have an iphone that we use as our office line. My husband accidentally got his iphone wet so while we were submitting it to be replaced through AT&T insurance plan, I had taken the sim card out of the office iphone and put his sim card into it and he was using it for a couple weeks. Somewhere on this forum I had found the instructions for doing this and it worked. He set a passcode on it while he was using it. Then he got his new replacement iphone and we switched simcards back and was good to go with his newly replaced iphone. In the meantime the other office iphone had been forwarded to me and we at that time didn't have another person working in the office so the iphone sat off for about 6 weeks maybe. Of course, during those 6 weeks the passcode, that was set on it, was forgotten - tried a few different things he thought that he'd set it to with no luck. So I looked up what needed to be done and how to restore the iphone. This particular iphone had not been plugged into a computer since having the original sim card put back into it after my husband had used it with his sim card so it wasn't able to get past the not having the correct passcode by just plugging into a computer that it had been synced with. I restored it. And this maybe is where I messed up or where maybe the new Iphone/Itunes OS messed up. I did accidentally check the sync button once the iphone was restored. I looked at Itunes and realized the music in the library on the computer was gone as well as the playlists. This is such a bummer because this is the business macbook pro and we run boat charters so all of that music is what is on the boat's ipod and played during the charters. There are playlists for sunsets, for cloudy days, multiple reggae playlists, etc. totaling 80 different playlists and tons of music - so much hardwork went into making those. Is there any way to get it all back???? Please help if you can - I'd be ever so grateful. Thanks.

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? You are correct, in settings I can gain access to my apparent.
What I went on to do was "reset" my app screen in settings and all my apps came back on the home pages.
I understand that we only have twelve home pages but you can make files that contain many files on the home page by superimposing file icons while in file moving mode.

If it's no longer in iTunes or stored in a backup anywhere, I"m afraid you are out of luck.
For music purchased in iTunes, you can redownload it again no cost via iCloud if you live in a country where this service has gone live. See this article for more details.

Instead of placing message into browser status bar (and browser is not the only WD UI agent), use IWDMessageManager API to post messages of such kind:

Does anyone know what I am talking about? I know that this is quite trivial, and it does not affect what I do, but I liked it.

Restored my Macbook Pro but my iTunes content was saved on a separate partition. When I re-setup iTunes the status bar reports 30gb less content than my iTunes Music folder. How can I find what is 'missing'?

My Macbook Pro software was failing and the Apple Store was able to restore it without removing the partition on my hard drive that contained most of my files including all my iTunes content. Initially when I re-setup my library I simply went to file--> add to library. Shortly after I realized that was essentially copying the library to the other portion of the partition because I forgot to change the location of the library. So I deleted the content already copied & then I re-setup the library, by asking it to be pulled from the previous location using this pages advice: iTunes: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one
It appeared to work & everything I thought was imported. But on closer inspection, it appears that I have 30gbs less appearing on the status bar in the iTunes app than I do when I pull up the info on the iTunes Music folder in my finder. I'm not sure if this means somehow I have 30gbs of duplicates in my finder folder or if (most likely) I somehow didn't fully import the library from that file. Any advice? Is there a way to restore iTunes to factory settings again & set it up correctly this time?
Also I never actually trashed the original content I accidentally transferred to the other drive but when i skimmed those in my trash bin it appears they ARE indeed in iTunes, so I have no clue what didn't actually import. Any ideas?! I'd greatly appreciate it!

You could have all the computers point to the same library but it can't be opened by more than one at any time.
No answer for knowing which library is in use other than selecting it at startup. This question gets asked here occasionally but I don't think it is a high-demand feature since most people have just one library. I guess you could put in an empty playlist with the library name so you have an identifier.

How can I make the status bar always visible in safari? Even when I go to "View" and then select "show status bar," the status bar still disappears unless my cursor is hovering over it. I want to be able to see the time, battery life etc. while surfing the web in safari!

When Safari is in FullScreen mode, menu bar will be hidden.
Safari window to fit the screen?
Move the mouse pointer to the bottom right corner of the Safari window.
Double arrows will appear. Drag it to resize the window to fit the screen.
