On the top left of my computer screen there are what look like the bottom half of small grey and white squares stacked on top of each other. They form a line about three inches horizontally along the top and they cover half of the regualr bar (so half of the apple sign int he corner is covered) and I cant seem to get rid of them. Is my hardrive crashing or being hacked?

I have never seen DEVELOP on the menu bar for Safari, hence my query regarding testing.
What OS are you using and what version of Safari?
If you want to check your HDD, Open Disk Utilities>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.
The only remedy that I can think of that may work is an OS reinstall.
I seriously doubt that your MBP is being hacked.

those are photos that have been synced to your phone from your computer. plug in your phone to your computer, open itunes, select 'photos' tab from the top, and uncheck 'sync photos'
this will erase the photos from your phone that are not in the camera roll

That screen means it has gone into recovery mode. You need to connect to a computer running iTunes by following the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 for the procedure of recovery mode connection.

Bonjour is a transport protocol. It also provides a means of advertising a printer on a network.
Any list that shows printers that support Bonjour is generally an indication that the printer itself supports this protocol, meaning that when it is connected to the network, you can see it in your default Add Printer browser. In the case of the Airport, it also supports the Bonjour protocol and will advertise any printer that is connected to its USB port. The printer itself does not have to support Bonjour. The Airport performs this function. And like many lists, they are not kept up to date because each vendor releases several new models every quarter or half year.
There are definitely printers that don't work when connected to the USB port of the Airport. And this is more that the printer driver does not support this type of connection, mainly due to the port not supporting bidirectional communications which some printer drivers require. The Canon UFR2 and CAPT drivers are a good example of this limitation. But this is only the Mac drivers. The Windows equivalent drivers work fine when the printer is connected to the USB port.
So with you having an issue with the Windows drivers then I don't think it is a case of them not supporting Bonjour but more to do with some other component not functioning when the printer is shared by the Airport. The error message appears to have more to do with local user rights which is probably driver related. I've seen some printers that you cannot use the Windows Add Printer wizard to add them. Instead you have to use the vendors utility because of some proprietary protocol being used. Maybe this is one of those?
Now that you seen how it should work based on when you used the C3188, if you still get that error message at point 6 of adding the C1025 then it would suggest a driver compatibility issue with the Airport - which is not necessarily a Bonjour compatibility issue. So unless there was another model of HP printer driver that you could use to this C1025 and that was also compatible with the USB port of the Airport Extreme, then I would suggest your best action is to replace the printer with a model that does work. Maybe even one that has builtin wireless so you don't have to use the USB port of the Airport.

I just downloaded the new 4.0 an now when I click on the tab it won't even load up, it'll look like the page will show up but then it won't an the it'll look like I never even clicked on it. What is going on? Why won't firefox work?

My firefox was working perfectly before when I had the 3.6 but now it just won't load up at ALL! I've dealt with it crashing on me while I was on the internet but I've never clicked on the tab OVER an OVER again an still not even having the home page show up on my screen. After clicking on the update and download, I didn't notice the name of the webpage until it kept happening. As for you - after downloading the file, did you actually run it? If you downloaded the file, but then did not RUN the file, you are probably safe - generally, just downloading an infected file doesn't hurt your computer - it is usually required that you run it before it can hurt you. Just delete the downloaded file, and then I wouldn't worry too much about it, if you didn't run it.
If you did run it, you might want to think about formatting your PC's main hard drive, and then doing a clean re-install of the O.S. and applications.

I imported bookmarks from Firefox 3.6 on a MacBook Pro to Firefox 3.6 on new Mac Air. The bookmark folders all show up, but there are no bookmarks in the folders.

Using Firefox 3.6.12 on both machines. Exported the bookmarks at html and imported them as html. The import seemed to go well -- followed the standard approach. I can see all the folders in my Bookmarks Menu and Bookmarks Toolbar, there are no bookmarks in the folders. I tried re-exporting and re-importing.

You can find the Import menu entry in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)

Import & Backup is the third button on the toolbar in the Library that looks like a star.

Files are backed-up. Can I get rid of them on my computer?

Good afternoon. I recently purchased a OWC Mercury Elite Pro external hard drive. My intention is to store all video, music and photo files on this drive and keep only applications on my Powerbook G4. I understand that this will allow my Powerbook to run faster and more efficiently especially with video editting.
I have made a complete back-up already of the hard drive on my computer and it is on the external drive. Can I now go about removing all the music, video and photo files from my computer's hard drive? If so, what is the best way to go about this? Shall I just drag everything to the trash? Are there certain folders I don't want to get rid of? For example, in the Photos folder there is the iPhoto library. Can I just drag this into the trash? Will this effect any slide shows I have created?

Open the NetInfo Manager in your /Applications/Utilities/ folder and change the location of your account's home folder so that it points to the external drive; the new location will look like /Volumes/external/path/to/folder/ with the second item being the name of the external drive. Don't delete or alter any other accounts, groups, or properties. Once you've moved your home folder, log out and back in, and verify that everything is working properly; if it continues to work properly for a few days, delete the original home folder. You will need to connect that external drive whenever you want to log in to your account.

How to I toggle the adjustments from a single mask when there are multiple masks of the same kind?

If I have multiple brush masks how can I toggle just one of them on and off; for instance just the active pin. I know I can turn off all of the brush masks at once but I just can't figure out how to toggle them individually. Thanks!

I think I know what you mean but if you do Reset it resets ALL the brushes instead of just the one. The OP just wants to toggle one brush.
To toggle one brush.
Click on the brush you want to toggle.
Double click the word "Effect:" int the upper righthand of the slider box, This resets the sliders to zero
To reverse, you can click undo
To see the difference many times, just click back and forth in history to see the changes before you do the undo.

HT204350 How do I know if the migration assistant is actually working? I got as far as a screen that says it is "Transferring your information" and there is what looks like a progress bar but that has moving blue diagonal lines rather than any progress

The fan on my target computer is whirring away and so it sounds like something is happening. But there doesnt seem to be any way of telling from either the traget or the source computer if the thing is actually working. How many hours should I wait before concluding that something has gone wrong? I have over 100GB of data so I am not expecting it to be fast!
Is it normal for the source computer to just drop out of migration asssistant at the begining, or should there be some sort of indication that it is working? What about if I use activity monitor is there any clues I should be looking for there?
