On upgraded Server system, kerberos dies and is relaunched every 10 seconds
Upgraded a 10.4 Server system to 10.6 Server. The 10.4 server wasn't running kerberos, but it appears that the 10.6 server decided it was necessary for some reason. As far as I know, I'm not using it for anything, although open directory says that it is 'Running'.
However, in my system.log, I see this, over and over and over, every 10 seconds:

Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store -
I've just updated OS to 10.10.1 and Finder keeps trying to open and then closes every 2 seconds with the message Finder is not Available. If Safari is opened with the window full screen it immediately closes and will only work with window smaller than maximum. Driving me mad! Any help please!!

Pro won't start. Instead get a black screen and a beeping every 2 seconds. Light at front right corner of keyboard flashes in sequence with beeping.
If it is giving a single beep every two seconds, then it is not seeing any of the memory. You could try taking the back off, remove the memory module and reinsert to see if that corrects the problem. Or just take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs do that for you.

(edu.mit.kerberos.krb5kdc) Job chrashed. Every 10 seconds for days now.
My console is showing that com.apple.launchd[1] (edu.mit.Kerberos.krb5kdc) Job appears to have crashed: Segmentation fault. Throttling respawn: will start in 10 seconds.
Then it saves a crash log.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I am not sure when it started but it has been going non-stop for days. Every 10 seconds - Crash and log.
I called apple support and they had me reboot into safe mode. Not sure why, but it didn't help.
Please help if you can.

If this is WiFi I would go to System Preferences > Network > Airport and enable Robust Connections.
If that does not solve or you are using Ethernet I would look at the Router Set up pages and check the Lease time on the DHCP Server.
Again if WiFi try changing the channel of the routing device to see if that improves things.
It may be that you are getting some sort of interference form someone else close by on a close or the same channel.
(the Robust setting should clear up interference form other domestic items such as power bricks for Printers and the like or Microwave ovens or power cables in walls)
The lease time being particularly short should not really effect things but it is worth checking and changing to something longer.

Why is my 24-inch LED display flashing black (and sometimes scrambles) every few seconds?
I have recently upgraded to a new iMac: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7. 4 GB 1333 MHz DDr3. AMD Radeon HD 6970M. 1024 MB. Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4. I have it attached to a 24-inch Cinema Display.
Before I switched to my new iMac, it would blink black a couple of times a day. This was going on for a LONG time, but was not a big deal. However, now that I have switched to the new iMac, it is every few seconds. And it has now added the "scrambled" screen to it's repertoire. Fun. And, as I am typing this...it just went black and has not come back on.
I've read a few threads on this happening, but haven't found any substantial evidence as to what is causing this. It's beyond annoying. Has anyone learned anything new?Okay. Murphy's Law. As soon as I posted this, I found an answer (hopefully!). My situation fit the criteria at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4045?viewlocale=en_US and I installed the update and so far, so good. I'll keep you posted.

T500 wireless connects and disconnects every few seconds
The machine has the Intel 5100 adapter in it, and runs W7 x64. There are numerous other devices using wireless in the same house, including two T61ps, which do not have this problem.
The T500 is using the latest Access Connections for W7, and the latest Intel drivers (the machine is 10 days old, and is fully updated using Lenovo System Update and Windows Update. Not much 3rd party software yet due to this and another problem with the T500.)
Every few seconds, the wireless will disconnect, then reconnect immediately. I have tried turning off power management for the wireless adapter, including telling Windows not to power it off for power savings. This occurs running on AC power, haven't tried on battery. (This is irritating enough as it is, but it makes W7's Windows Explorer keep moving things up and down in the display as the network items disappear and reappear.)Hi Graham,
Try increasing the roaming of your wireless card from aggressive to low and power output to maximum in the power management option.

I think you may need to shutdown the database with either normal, immediate or transactional options and than startup the database. If your problem still persists after that, please log an SR call at the Metalink.

Hi, I have just upgraded my iMac to lion and it crashes every 10 secunds. What should I do?
It happens while doing just normal stuff.
Try booting into "safe mode". If that stops the crashes, then you may have some incompatible software on your Mac. Launch the Console utility and look for messages that might explain the problem, as well as crash reports or kernel panic logs.

Ipod isn't recognized by the computer, and flashs white every 10 seconds
Well upon turning on my 5th generation 30gb ipod video, instead of showing its menu, all it does is flash white for less than second and then go turn black. Since then, it hasn't stopped. My ipod has basically become a broken strobe-light/paper weight.
With that said, yes I have tried restarting it, yes I tried again, yes I tried while plugged up to a power source, and no I can't restore it as it doesn't even show up on itunes anymore.
I'm assuming this thing has bit the dust, just as my last 3 ipods did as well. But if someone does have some sort of fix for this thing, please let me know.
Also, I ask of you guys to try to explain to me why I should keep on dropping 250 dollars on an ipod almost every year, as they seem to not be not holding up very well. I all ever do is use them on my cars stereo system, my 360, or my ps3, its not like I'm abusing them or anything. Its just normal use. 1000 dollars later, Sony's new Walkman and Microsofts Zune are really starting to look much more tempting as I have really lost faith in Apple with my time with them.My 80GB iPod video 5th generation is doing something very similar.

HP 7800 show green light and got off every 5 second
HP 7800 small form factor - this morining i powered on my system it show red flash light and got off. I replaced the power supply problem was solved it dosen;t show red light but now it show green ligt for 5 sec and restarted , i have unlug all cables and plug them in but all invain. I understand that after replacing your power supply on your HP Compaq dc7800 Small Form Factor PC it will not power up properly and shows a green light for 5 seconds before restarting. I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure, I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums, since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Business PCs - Compaq, Elite, Pro.

I'm building a heart rate monitor as a final year project with my lab partner using the NI USB-6009 and Labview 2009. We have managed to obtain a signal using a photo transciever, smooth it out and count the events, however the count is incremental.
We wish to count the number of pulses we obtain for a few seconds (5-10 for example) and then use this value to obtain a pulse rate in beats per minute (e.g. 10 pulses in the first 10 seconds would give an estimated BPM of 60 etc etc).
Does anybody have ides on how we could implement this? We have tried timed loops, elapsed time VI's and other things but nothing gives us what we need.

Firefox takes time loading and keeps stopping every few seconds, but only in the last week
I have had updates for Windows and wonder if there is a clash between the two. I also seem to be getting more errors thn I ever had. I have tried uninstalling FF and reinstalling it and the results are still the same.
