On Win 7 64 bit Firefox, 15, 16 and 17 beta will not save "Options" settings.

I keep up with MS and Mozilla updates.
I do not remember other significant event which might have caused this problem.
The advice in "http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save" did not help.

Some more testing. Running Ff 17 Win 7.
The initial response to this problem told me to delete the prefs.js files (and some similar) from my Firefox profiles. Having done that I restarted Firefox, updated my start page preference and "save downloads to" option. After a Firefox restart the "start home page" had not been saved but the download save option had.
Looking at preferences saved in my profile prefs.js was empty and prefs_temp.js was full of data. So I started Firefox, updated my "start home page", looked at prefs_temp.js and it contained my updated home page option. I shutdown Firefox, checked that my update was still in prefs_temp.js, copied my prefs_temp.js to prefs.js and resterted Firefox. Square 1, the default home page displayed, not my update.

Very weird day in Firefoxland
First on a Powerbook G4 running 10.4.11 I respond to an invitation to upgrade to Firefox 4 (like a lot of others). Long story short, I wind up losing the browser altogether -- including all bookmarks. Why? Because neither the Firefox homepage (or CNET downloads) makes it clear that 4.0 is for OS 10.5 only! Amazing!
Then I try to register to post a reply in a thread that crits Firefox for not making this System Requirements info upfront clear. But the Register page I’m taken to (https://support.mozilla.com/bs/users/register) is in SERBO-CROATIAN!!
Then I try to log into Chat a couple of times and when it’s not CLOSED its a long line waiting and THEN it closes.
WOW!! Are the wheels off the wagon here or what!?!

Flash crashes all the time, firefox crashes too and then will not work period, or my computer will say it is open when it is not, and I cannot open it. When I get on firefox it will not load anything! Explorer still works but not firefox!

Certainly disable FlashPlayer in your plugins by using

You need to get Firefox working again before you are going to be able to do anything with Firefox.
See if you can get Firefox to open in [[safe mode]] noting that when you get a window with a list of options just click on continue.

Sorry but at present there are many possible causes of your problem and you will need to try Firefox's SafeMode &/or some of the suggestions in those linked articles in order to narrow it down a bit.

Faxes received and print, will not save

i had my computer set up to save faxes and print them. now, they are only printing. i tried reassigning the fax save folder, but still no result. they print fine, they just won't save.

I purchased Numbers after my free trial.
If you didn't delete the free trial before installing Numbers from the App Store, you need to do that.
The best way to uninstall an app and all the associated files is to use a utiility such as AppCleaner for Mac - Uninstall your apps easily
Check your Applications folder. Delete both the Numbers app you downloaded from the App Store and the trial version.
Then re download Numbers from the App Store using the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. You will not be charged again.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.

1.View 2.Select tool bars 3. Uncheck any of the toolbars below: a. Babylon toolbar b. Softonic Eng 7 Community tool bar!
4.Finish.... if nothing happened try to unchechked other tool bars.

Photoshop AND Illustrator will not save- no error message

I am on a mac and I have CS5. There is no error message, but when I go to save the 'save' button is not clickable, only the cancel one. I have space on my computer so that is not it, I have gone through all the settings and I have seen nothing that seems out of place.

Often if I update iTunes, i need to reaccept the terms etc when i reopen it.
If you have other programs open, you often cant get this "terms acceptance" screen to come up.
I suggest closing all open open programs and then trying.

Elements not always opening and sometimes will not save a file

I am fairly new to Photoshop having only previously owned PSE 10. When i upgraded to 11, i was seriously impressed but now i have the most annoying problem. Usually i can open a raw file sucessfully the first time and edit/process it with no problems but if i then try to open a second one, nothing happens. If i open elements first and then open the file it will work but then, when it comes time to save the file, nothing happens. there are no error messages, nothing freezes, nothingn happens at all!
The only thing that i can think of is that i did a silly thing! When i was looking in the folder with all my files, i saw the new .xmp file that is added after processing a raw file. For some unknown reason, i thought that it would be a good idea to change the "opens with" setting for it. I now do not know how to remove this setting or what to change it back to. At the moment it is set to notepad. I am not sure if this is relevant as i can usually open the first photo successfully and everything works. It does, however, require a complete restart if i want to work on another picture.

You can't do that with any email app. It's an email, not a document in a text editor or word processor.
To save it as a separate document, click anywhere in the body of the email and press Command+C to copy it. Paste it into a blank Word document and save it.

I've updated to Itunes 11.1.3.8 and now Itunes will not save my settings.

After upgrading to Itunes 11.1.3.8 it stopped saving all settings. I'm running Itunes on Windows 7 and have not had an issue with Itunes until this upgrade.
It starts up like a new install each time I open Itunes.

Actually your initial response had no resolve for someone with my particular problem except to take a route that is both not costeffective nor a possibility for someone who just purchased a phenomenal new Asus i7 with 8gb of RAM. It could have included something about switching compatibility modes which is a route that many people including myself should take and worked wonderfully. It's unfortunate people as yourself reply on these boards in horribly monotonous replies instead of offering solutions for people with certain software and actually being helpful. Enjoy your day.

Firefox will not save my Connections settings, so opens on manual proxy every time, rather than No Proxy?

I'm using Firefox 4.01 and it will not save my connections settings when I set them to "No Proxy" keeps defaulting to manual therefore it wont load any pages until I change it to "No Proxy" which I have to do every time I open firefox.

Using tab groups but Firefox 28.0 crashes and even can not save all tabs in archive recently

Hi. I installed tab groups addon on my firefox 28.0 (firefox portable version) and each group has its tabs. of course. Problem is that Firefox crashes when i work on a group with the tabs and even can not save all tabs in archive as MAFF recently too. When i try to save all tabs in archive as... i choose the name and hit save and wait but after some time this crashes too. Last time i saved all my tabs and groups as MAFF or other file was end of april and since then i can not save them anymore because of the crashing.
I read on the help site to delete Firefox then reinstall ect. to fix problems but I DO NOT want to erase my groups with their tabs as i chose this solution working with group tabs as it would be to hard on my cpu when i use for each group a different browser for example.
Please help me fix this problem with the crashes but without loosing my groups and its tabs as they are all important and do not wish to erase them as i use them all.

I have tried everything that has been suggested and even deleted and downloaded Firefox again and it will not open. Any ideas on how to get it to open?
