On Windows Vista, installed AdobeAir update as required. "Mandatory Upgrade" removed Acrobat!

On Windows Vista, installed AdobeAir update as required. Next screen said "Mandatory Upgrade" & when I clicked on it, version 2.0 of Acrobat was removed, new version 3.2 wouldn't download error# 16820! What do I do now? Need Acrobat, but I don't know what to do next! I'm working at a small church w/no budget. so please help if you can.

Vista requires AA8.1 at a minimum. I think that a few have gotten AA7 to work, but it is not supported by Adobe on VISTA. I know that is not good news, but it may be that you will be unsuccessful. At the very least, expect to have to print to file and open distiller to complete the conversion. I think that AcroTray is one of the major problems with the use on VISTA.
Hopefully someone might stop by that has successfully gotten over the registration problem you are having, and possibly gotten AA7 to work in some sense on VISTA, but do not be surprised if there are no takers. Good luck.

  • Windows Vista install disk for my Mac?

I have just installed Windows vista onto my Mac but when using boot camp it only gives me the option of creating a Windows 7 install disk.  Does anybody know where I can get a Windows Vista install disk?  Thanks

No doubt if you Google for it you will find vendors. Check with amazon.com, too.

How do I retrieve the installed "VALID " version of Windows Vista which I paid to have installed on my laptop when I purchased it at Best Buy in Aug 2009?

  • Fresh Windows Vista Install (X:/ drive)

I have a HP Pavilion Elite m9500Y and I wish to use a windows vista install DVD rather then the recovery DVD's/partition.
When ever I boot to disk and go through the reinstall process, when I get to select drive it only has X:/ drive available.
Is this some type of boot drive? Is it because of something RAID related? I would like to know how to get around this.

Hello ddwcmp555, I'm not quite sure why you do not see any available disk\partitions to install Vista on.
Here  is the link for the specifications for your system, and it shows the system shipped with a 750 GB hard drive and no Raid Array. It also shows the system shipped with Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Media Center (64-bit) with Vista Service Pack 1.
The X: partition is created during the start of the Vista installation, as a temp. partition to store the Vista setup files. When the setup completes successfullly, this X: partition is removed.
Can you advise where you acquired the Vista DVD, and if your Vista DVD might be an upgrade version rather than a full version. An upgrade version would look for the original operating system, before proceeding with the installation process.

  • Windows Vista installed, can't surf internet.

Running 10.6.8 on a 21 inch iMac Intel Core i5. Used Bootcamp Assistant in /Application/Utilities (presumably Bootcamp version 3.x) to partition, format and install Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit with SP 1.
Installation completed without problem. Vista up and running. Launching internet explorer results in error messages leading to something like "network adaptor not found." "Open devices to browse/install network adaptor." -or something like that.
Bootcamp assistant user's manual leads me to try running bootcamp assistant setup.exe from my OS 10.6.6 CD while running Vista. I used the windows finder to get to my CD and locate the "setup" application for boot camp assistant. Upon launch, bootcamp stops launch and tells me "windows 7 is required." However, I have all the requirements listed in the bootcamp user's manual. as shown here:
    What You Need
Here’s what you need to install and set up Windows on your Mac: An Intel-based Mac computer CHECK,with:
a USB keyboard and mouse, or a built-in keyboard and trackpad  USING BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD AND MOUSE

a Mac OS X Install Disc 1 (included with all Macs that have Leopard preinstalled)
At least 10 GB of free space on the disk you’re installing on  CHECK
Boot Camp Assistant (located in /Applications/Utilities/) CHECK
Windows XP Home Edition or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later, or Windows

FINALLY, I called Apple tech support. I explained that Bootcamp is telling me I need Windows 7 but the manual is telling me I can use Vista Home Basic 32bit. Tech said that beyond, installing windows, its a microsoft problem.
    Please advise.

if you can't surf then you can't have installed Windows updates.
I would not expect BT or wifi or anyting to work
10GB was for XP, not later which needs 30-50GB, 10GB free temp space after install and cache built and page file and hibernation taken care of.
MS does not support anything older than Vista SP2 was my understanding.
Snow Leopard has Windows 7 drivers though even there LION has better driver support - for 7.
I'd say try 8 RP but there are too many issues for now with that.
Leopard is 10.5.x and was the last to support Vista.

  • Windows Vista Installed, Can't Get Drivers, Won't Read 10.4.8 Install Disk

    Hello.
I've searched the forums and haven't found an answer yet. I installed Windows Vista 32-bit using Boot Camp on my Mac Pro. That part was fine but I cannot get the drivers to load from my install disk (10.4.8). This is a totally legit copy.
The install disk opens fine in OS X, but when in Windows, nothing. Reads as a blank disk. I tried downloading a Boot Camp update (BCUpdateVista32). It's an .exe file but won't open in Windows.
    Help!

The Mac OS X 10.4 disks don't contain Boot Camp drivers. Insert a Mac OS X 10.5 installation disk and get the drivers from it.

  • Windows vista installed, can't install Mac OS XLeopard

I have a macbook and am trying to install a clean version of leopard. this macbook had vista installed on it. I have tried to do a clean install of mac leopard. The message comes up" it cannot be installed on this computer.
As far as I know there is no problem with the macbook it has a 120 gig hdd. this does not show in the startup disc options when I go into the disc utilities using the leopard disc.
    can anybody help please?
    thanks

    Greetings,
I'd take the CD/DVDs that came with the Macbook, or a full retail version of Leopard, and place it in the drive and start the machine up holding down the C key until you see the spinning gear looking thing, then let go and let it boot up - it takes a bit of time.
Then at the first screen, after it's booted, say continue, and at the next screen you will find a Utility menu at the top. Click on that and select Disk Utility and select the hard disk - usually the first item in the left pane of Disk Utility, from there do an erase, and at that time you can partition it, or let it be all one partition and select a format HFS +, or MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and give it a name.
That will erase the drive and get rid of the Windows infection. If you want to infect your Mac with Windows, then use Boot Camp after you do a complete install of Leopard, and do all of the available updates.
    That should get you going.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Adobe Reader 10.1.3 does not recognize the windows vista installed printer

I am using the latest version of Adobe Reader. When I print I get a message box that says you must install a printer driver. I have a printer installed in Windows Vista Home Premium that works ok with all other programs.  Any ideas?

All updates applied to ver 10.1.10.  Same problem - does not recognize the network printer.  When I first installed this version and the Software License Agreement displayed it allowed me to access the printer dialog and print the form. When I open a pdf document after this it does not recognize that there isa printer installed.  Any ideas??? This is getting vdery frustating.  The only good news is that foxit works.

  • Can not turn on wireless after Windows vista install driver issue?

    Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right place for the post, if not I apologies in advance.
I have a Compaq Presario C700 (C730EM) on which the hard drive died on me, I brought a new one and installed Windows vista premium from disk (not a backup / recovery disk).
All seems fine however I can not turn on the wireless, the C700 has a wireless button on the top left hard side (which has a red LED when not on). Normally you push this and it turns on (turns LED Blue) but nothing!
I have commented wired and updated windows etc. and have tired to find wireless driver which I guess I’m missing? Not sure if it’s wireless driver missing or a keyboard driver?
After installing a few drivers which I thought where right no joy!
    Can anyone help?
    Cheers

  • Toshoba Soft for Fresh windows Vista install

Hi, I am thinking of reinstalling Windows Vista Home Premium fresh on my laptop.
If I wipe the whole HD and install windows Vista or full Win 7 on it, is there a Toshiba Software bundle that I candownload for Satellite, essential for the laptop functions to run?
I have recovery Disks, problem is I downloaded Vista to Win 7 updater and Ran it , I thought all update was going to be doe online.Until it asked me to pop in Win7 update disk....which is nowhere mentioned until that point.
I reverted back to latest sys-restore, but certain applications are broken and not repairable, also messed up sounds and Video jitter freezes time to time.
(Not on website nor during updater that YOU NEED A WIN 7 DISK TO COMPLETE THE UPGRADE. Would it be so hard to mention it somewhere? Anyways that's another story which happened a while ago.)

  • I cant install an update to Firefox and cant remove the old version because a "Setup" pop up window "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" appears, reboots change nothing. What should I do?

A friend said she downloaded an update to Firefox (a version of 6, I believe) but didn't install the update, but the desktop icon was gone. The only way to launch Firefox was from the Programs folder. When clicking on the Firefox file, a "Setup" pop up window appeared stating "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" Clicking "No" does not launch Firefox and clicking "Yes" reboots the computer, but nothing changes after restart and the same series of events keeps re-occurring. When clicking on the safe mode file, Firefox was launched. I went to "Add/Remove Programs" and found Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3. When attempting to remove the program, the same reboot "Setup" pop up appears, and the same non-results as previously described, persisted. I deleted all Firefox files and deleted the update set up .exe files. I again tried to remove the Firefox 3.6.3 program, with the same outcome as the previous attempt(s). I went to the Firefox website and downloaded the updated Firefox 7.0.1 set up .exe file, saved and ran it. When I reached the Setup Wizard page that prompts a "Standard" or "Custom" installation, I clicked on Standard and the same reboot pop up window appeared, again with no change after the reboot. So I have a Program installed (Firefox 3.6.3) with no files, and which can not be removed, an executed update/download .exe for Firefox 7.0.1 that can not be completely installed due to the failure to update by reboot problem. I'm out of ideas on how to try to resolve these problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

    Try a clean reinstall.
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
    * Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Windows Vista Install Freezes

    Hi,
Brand new 15" MBP and trying to install Windows Vista SP1 64 bit. Partitioning when well with Boot Camp Assistant, after inserting Vista install disk and having the MBP restart, it boots the DVD and gets to the point where I put in the Product Key (valid) and from there I get an hour glass and nothing happens. I left it for two hours and still no progress. I also tried to not put in the Product key and attempt to enter it later and the same thing is happening. No cables or devices are attached to the MBP other than the power adapter.
Been messing with this for hours, very silly problem. Might have to call Apple Care in the morning but thought it would be best to start here.
    Eric

Will Apple Care support what is probably a Windows issue as it is being installed via Boot Camp?

  • Why can't 64-bit Windows Vista install 64-bit Nightly?

Starting with version 36 of Nightly, I can no longer install the 64-bit version on Windows Vista. The installer says it has to be installed on at least Windows 7 64-bit. Why is that? Windows Vista is a 64-bit operating system.
