On2 VP6 in Premier Pro: CBR default? (only?)
I'm just beginning to work with Flash video export in Premier Pro CS3.
I don't see any option for selecting CBR or VBR output.
Does this mean that it is CBR? CBR by default? CBR only?
TIA,
Carolyn
I don't have CS3 installed any more, but I seem to remember that there was the option for VBR encoding, along with CBR. I'm working from memory on that, so this memory is subject to error However, it was 1-pass only. Two-pass VBR encoding--at least for VP6--was added in CS4. The VBR option should be somewhere on the Video tab in the exporter window.

Hello. I have the Premier Pro CS5 suite on Windows. Can you advise me how to re install Encore off my discs without affecting any of my movie in Premier Pro please?
I ask Pro to send the movie sequence through Dynamic Link into Encore so that I can burn the sequence to a disc.
Encore does open but the sequence does not arrive from Pro.
Last night the sequence did arrive into Encore but took forever to transcribe and I eventually cancelled the process as it appeared to get stuck and did not quite get to writing to disc.
This morning the sequence does not even arrive into Encore.
Very frustrating when I have a 4hr movie that I want to write to Bluray so I have now created 4 separate sequences and want to try writing them onto DVD in 1hr chapters.
Hope someone can help me with this. Cheers. JaniceHello Ann. Thank you for your help. I have re installed EN and I have now
sent parts of my movie to AME. I have then tried several different methods
of getting the encoded clips into Encore successfully. Once in the Project
panel and the Timeline, the movie does not show up in the Monitor panel
above, so I have proceeded to build and write to a disc. I've tried a
number of options but always end up with EN 'not responding' and having to
close the program down.
Something else is that I do get a message whilst in Premiere Pro that there
is an update available for AME, however, when I look online I do not see an
update for CS5, although there are 2 updates for CS6. Can you suggest what
I could do please? The Encore problem is the one that concerns me the most
as I am not able to record my movie.
Looking forward to your reply.
Kind regards.

Best quality HDV to DVD using Premier Pro CC to Media Encoder CC and Encore
I have been struggeling to create a decent looking DVD from my HD video. I am a newbe. And I have read many, many forum posts trying to learn the best practice and have come out even more confused. Many posts are back in 2009 and I don't think they apply. Some recommend dynamic link which does not appear to be an option for me. So I am hoping to get a clear answer to my problems. I am including alot of info because I don't know what is really important.
I have 2 types of video that I am merging into my sequences.
Sony:
Format : AVC
Bit rate : 11.5 Mbps
Maximum bit rate : 16.0 Mbps
Width : 1 440 pixels
Height : 1 080 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 16:9
Frame rate : 29.970 fps
Scan type : Interlaced
Scan order : Top Field First
JVC:
Format : AVC
Bit rate : 16.3 Mbps
Maximum bit rate : 17.0 Mbps
Width : 1 920 pixels
Height : 1 080 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 16:9
Frame rate : 29.970 fps
Scan type : Interlaced
Scan order : Top Field First
I set my sequence in Premier Pro CC to
AVC-Intra 50 1080i
29.97 fps
1440 x 1080
HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.3333)
30fps Drop-Frame Timecode
Hopefully I set up my sequence correctly???
Dynamic Link is not available to me, so I export the sequence. This is where i get confused.
I export to MPEG2-DVD. Preset NTSC DV Wide
Some forum posts say to tweek the video setting for better quality, this is what I have read:
quality to 100
minimum bit rate 4
target bitrate 6
maximum bitrate 7
click maximum render quality
Since my source has upper field order but PP defaults to lower field order, should I switch to upper?
I encode in Media Encoder.
In Encore, I have my dvd settings:
MPEG-2
720x480
29.97 fps
Lower fields first (should this be upper??)
I have an i5 processor, 8G ram, I am using Mecury GPU accelerator.
I listed a lot of stuff and I appologize. I just think the quallity I am getting isn't there. With these setting and what I am doing, is this as good as the quality gets?
HelpUse a 1920 x 1080, 30i sequence for the editing, not 1440 x 1080.
Start with the MPEG2-DVD option and the NTSC DV Widescreen preset. Change the Quality to 100. Change the Field Order from Lower to Upper. Change the Min, Target and Max bitrates to 5, 7 and 9 respectively. If you have hardware acceleration turned on, export away. If you're running in Software Only mode, check the Maximum Render Quality box and then export.
Bring the resulting video and audio files into Encore for authoring. -
Streaming with on2 VP6 8 bit alpha canne
I need to send a live streaming to Adobe Flash Media Server encoded with on2 VP6 8 bit alpha cannel (chroma key) so all clients see only the speaker with no background.
what hardware or software support realtime encode VP6 alpha channel ?
thanksOoppp, got mixed up with chroma-keying... sorry 'bout that.
So what have you tried? have you attempted to stream video with alpha channel to the server? what happened? How are you displaying the video at the other end?
Is it on a Web page? are you using wmode=transparent as a <param> on the vido player? so that the player itself becomes invisible?
Here is an example of a VP6 video with alpha played over the top of a video page (the walk on):
http://www.mrfilmbiz.com/
This is not a live stream but a progressive downloaded video, but I don't think it would matter. The thing that let's you see that the alpha channel is there (because the player is invisible) is using the wmode=transparent. Of course you may need a custom Flash player like the one used in the example above... it uses NetStream rather than the FLVPlayback component... I'm not sure if you can make the component disappear like that.
For review:
Window Mode (wmode) - What's It For?
There are three window modes.
Window
Opaque
Transparent
By default, the Flash Player gets its own hWnd in Windows. This means that the Flash movie actually exists in a display instance within Windows that lives above the core browser display window. So though it appears to be in the browser window, technically, it isn't. It is most efficient for Flash to draw this way and this is the fastest, most efficient rendering mode. However, it is drawing independently of the browser's HTML rendering surface. This is why this default mode (which is equivalent to wmode="window") doesn't allow proper compositing with DHTML layers. This is why your JavaScripted drop-down menus will drop behind your Flash movie.
In windowless modes (like opaque), Flash Player doesn't have a hWnd. This means that the browser tells the Flash Player when and where to draw onto the browser's own rendering surface. The Flash movie is no longer being rendered on a higher level if you will. It's right there in the page with the rest of the page elements. The Flash buffer is simply drawn into whatever rectangle the browser says, with any Flash stage space not occupied by objects receiving the movie's background color.
Hope this help a little.
Best of luck,

Continuing problems with Matrox and Premier Pro CS5.5 Mac
What is wrong with Adobe and Matrox? Can't they get it together! Ever since switching from Final Cut Pro 7 to Premier Pro 5 and then 5.5 I have been having problems playing back footage from Premier through the Matrox Mini X02 box and then HDMI into a Sony HD monitor. No matter what I do with installs and re installs, the problem persists. The problem is that the Matrox software/hardware seems incapable of providing one simple little thing...playing back my Premier CS 5.5 1920 timeline into my Sony TV. The sound stutters and stops, the playback freezes and Premier won't start again until I reboot my Mac. Sometimes I have to repair disk permissions to get Premier to work again. My hardware should be adequate. I have a MacPro 3.1 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon running in 64 bit mode under OS X 10.6.8, with 20 GB of RAM and a NVidia Quadpro FX4800 video card. I am running a Raid drive for the video.
Now I know that Adobe is trying to get as many FCP users as it can so I am wondering if there are other Mac users on this forum who have swtiched and who are having the same problems? I have read the reports on the Matrox forum and there seems to be a real saga over the Mini Max 02 and its software. There have been countless software revisions!
Should I abandon Matrox and go for a Black Magic card. I understand the Black Magic Pro card only does 1920 interlaced. I want a card that will be able to transfer anything Premier can display on its timeline and put it on my Sony Bravada. So that means progressive as sell as interlaced.Hi all, matrox came good with a monitoring solution for premiere pro which now works perfectly. Not tried it with a deck connected but at least I can see what I am doing...
Here it is:
Please check the following procedure. You can just do steps 5 to 13 at first. If it does not work then redo all steps. Let me know if it helps.
1. Uninstall the Matrox driver using the Matrox Uninstaller. The system will restart.
2. After the MAC has restarted, go to yourusername->library->application support->adobe->Premiere Pro->5.5 and delete the 'Adobe Premiere Pro Prefs' file or use the ‘Preference Manager’ application: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
3. Restart MAC
4. Re-download and re-install the Matrox driver software
5. Go to System Preferences -> Sound -> Output
6. Change the default device to anything other than Matrox
7. Open a new project and select a Matrox sequence preset.
8. Open the Premiere Preferences menu.
9. Click on ‘Audio Hardware’ and set the default device to anything other than Matrox
10. Click on ‘Audio Output Mapping’ and set the ‘Map Output’ to anything other than Matrox
11. Close Premiere and re-open (only if you made any changes)
12. Open a new project and select a Matrox sequence preset.
13. Select a Matrox sequence, load a video clip, test playback.
Note: In Premiere, if you are working in a Matrox sequence and want to also output the Source window content through the MXO2, then you can do so by opening Premiere Preferences -> Player Settings -> and setting the value to 'Matrox Player'. Your source window video and audio will now be output through the MXO2.
Note: Audio output through the system sound card is not supported when working in a Matrox sequence. -
Hi. I'm having another serious problem with CS4 (the version that comes with CS5 when you don't have 64 bit capability. I just finished a project, had saved it, and then had switched over to Adobe Encoder to create a finished flash video (which worked perfectly). I shut down CS4, went home, tried to restart the main project to create a video from the same project (wanted to make an mpeg version as well) and got the following error message:
Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premier Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project. Then the system shuts down.
Not only can I not open the project I was working on, I cannot open any of my prior projects without receiving the same error.
Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this issue and how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
By the way, is everyone else having the same amount of problems with this software? I've never had any software that has had so many problems from the beginning. My opinion of this software and Adobe in general has gone down substantially. Not enough information for anyone to even make a guess
Work through all of the steps (ideas) listed at http://ppro.wikia.com/wiki/Troubleshooting
If your problem isn't fixed after you follow all of the steps, report back with ALL OF THE DETAILS asked for in the FINALLY section, the questions at the end of the troubleshooting link -
App to Download / Open Premier Pro CC
When downloading Premier Pro CC, I am prompted for an applcation to open it with and the only application I can think of to use is Adobe Application Manager. When I do select this it immediatley crashes. Note that I recently upgrade to v10.9 Mavericks and I do not know if that is causing the crash....many thanks. Any input greatly appreciated.

HI!
Please help me! I'm a kind of desperate since my Premiere Pro suddenly doesn't seen to want to open all my files I'm working on. A message appears instead: "This project could not be loaded, it may be damaged or containing outdated elements." I don't know what the problem is and what to do. Please help me!... Everything worked just fine less than a week ago!
I'm looking forward for your message!
/ARMAND GUTHEIMHi Armand,
Armand Gutheim wrote:
Thanks for your answer and I've been looking into all the discussions about this problem since the end of September, which still doesn't seem to be solved. Am I right?...
As I replied earlier, one of our customers has created a helper program which should fix your project file. You can check that out in the thread I linked to earlier.
Armand Gutheim wrote:
I really don't understand what the problem is as I've used Premier Pro without any problem for two years now.
We also do not understand why the problem is occurring either. And it's only happening to European customers on Windows. It happened quite suddenly and we are still investigating about why it happened.
Armand Gutheim wrote:
My problem now is also that I need some films to be finished very soon and I just can't do anything now!
See if the helper application will work for you.
Armand Gutheim wrote:
If this has been an issue for a month now I guess you must have found a solution by now, am I wrong?...
Yes. We haven't found the root cause of the issue yet.
Armand Gutheim wrote:
Well, I don't mean to appear demanding, but as you understand this is rather frustrating when you have a job that needs to be done...
BEST REGARDS,

Of course. Sorry this is happening. Look into the helper application offered by one of our customers. Here's a link to the exact thread: Re: Debug event f:\mightysilt_win64\shared\adobe\mediacore\mediafoundation\api\inc\keyframe

Hi,
I'm working with a colleague who is using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration software on his PC version of Premier Pro CC. I am using a mac and have a trial version of Premier Pro CC. When I try to open a project file that he has sent me I get an error message-
"Missing renderer: This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA), which is either not available or not certified on this system. Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used."
When I click OK and locate the files I get a message saying "File format not supported".
Can anyone tell me what to do so that we can share project files?
Many thanks,
JessieShouldn't really be the MPE at fault here ... what is the codec of the footage/sequence/project?
Second, can you create a new project in PrPro, then in the media browser, import that sequence from the other project? -
DirectLink from Premier Pro CC 2014 to Encore - no longer there
Trying to get a Premier Pro CC 2014 sequence into Encore CS6 - and it won't happen.
The DirectLink from Premier Pro CC 2014 to Encore - is no longer there and I've tried simply dragging the required sequences over from the PP CC window into the timeline bin in Encore - it won't do it.
I've tried importing sequences and after clicking on the project to open and select the sequences from it just sits there with a portion of yellow progress bar about 5mm long - doesn't move on.
I am now trying to build the DVD project by putting all materials on one sequence, with chapter markers on it and pushing out a media encoder file in H.264 first. Maybe this will import to Encore.
Hating the fact these two sister programs no longer talk or work together - losing Encore is a major headache. Thanks Stan,
Interesting you say "Dynamic link only works between like versions. So the only DL for Premiere with Encore CS6 is Premiere CS6" and then show me a video where the guy's first screen pops up with "Using Premiere Pro CC & Encore CS6".
This is the latterday workaround to cover the issue of the removal of the directlink from PP CC 2014 to Encore - which does cover my issue - however I find it strange that Adobe choose to make great play of the DirectLink facility - now employed between programs such as PP CC 2014 and SpeedGrade - yet have deliberately destroyed a great working relationship in the same manner between PP CC 2014 and Encore.
I find this "dictatorial" deduction a real nause... -
SOMEONE AT ADOBE PLEASE HELP!!!
I have had no problems editing Red Epic 4K R3D files in the past revisions of Premier CC but ever since creative cloud updated me to the latest Premier CC 2014 (8.0.1) I cant get any serious work done as my system is crashing on startup, or after a few minutes of work, freezing on playback at times, giving me artifacts at times and is just a miserable and frustrating experience I can get NOTHING done with!!!
How could Adobe release a piece of so called professional software like this with these now obvious MAJOR issues so many of us are experiencing, wasting massive time and money for all of its users and how can I get this running properly and stable as our livelihoods depend on this software to work and thats what we pay Adobe for ???
I am currently working on :
Mac OSX 10.9.3
Mac Pro 5,1 Tower
Nvidia GTX 660 2GB Graphics card
Cuda Drivers 6.0.37
I use a SSD swap drive and boot drive of 1/2 TB
I have a 6TB internal Raid for all my media files
I am editing 4K Red R3D files in a 4K timeline that I had no problem editing in previous version of Premier CC ???
If Adobe would have thought before changing the file compatibility with the new Premier Pro CC 2014 where you cant load a file updated to this new version back into Premier Pro CC previous revision or included some kind of import / export to and from previous versions I think we would all at least be operational again right now until Adobe can fix its errors in this new revision but they obviously didn't care to think about compatibility, safeguards for users and just adding more new features with a new file format in a buggy piece of software?
I have wasted days now on trying to solve these problems following other users in this forums suggestions including the following listed below:
• Reinstalled my OS downgrading to 10.9.3 originally thinking it was something OS related since I updated to 10.9.4 around the same time this all started happening
• Uninstalled / reinstalled Premier Pro CC 2014
• I have updated my permissions to read/write on my main user account on the Adobe Library files
• I have updated my permission to read/write on my main user account on my overall drive
• I have reverted my CUDA drivers back one revision as these were recently updated as well
I AM TIRED AND FRUSTRATED WITH ALL OF THIS NONSENSE WHEN I JUST NEED TO EDIT SO CAN SOMEONE AT ADOBE PLEASE SHED SOME LIGHT ON ALL OF THIS AND GET ME BACK TO A PLACE WHERE I CAN USE THE SOFTWARE I PAY FOR AND NEED TO BE ABLE TO WORK WITH TO KEEP MY BUSINESS OPERATING AND COMPLETE THE WORK MY CLIENTS ARE WAITING FOR ???
Originally I was very impressed with Adobe CC and Premier CC once I started to work with it after many years of abandoning the use of Premier as a Final Cut Pro 7 user but later decided to try Adobe again when Apple abandoned its pro base with the original Final Cut X. I also did not think this new cloud software model was all that bad over the old boxed method. This was all also before the big Final Cut Pro X update in December 2013/early 2014 where Apple appears to be back to support the real Pros but I have stuck with Adobe CC and Premier CC and been happy since that time. Now I am wondering if this was wise as I have had a number of other issues with other CC Apps, updates, etc and this is starting to feel like Creative Cloud is becoming a big, sloppy, buggy mess to me?Also...
Add to right click menu of timelines an entry for "go to next keyframe" and "go to last keyframe" a la After Effects, we should also be able to assign a kb shortcut to this.
There are buttons on either side of the create keyframe button to advance forward or backward in the effects control panel or timeline.
You can also advance forward or backward in the effects control window by holding shift while dragging the playhead.
Allow copy/paste of selection of audio/video effects, not just one at a time. Sure we can copy/paste attributes but since we can also copy/paste effects it would only make sense to allow to copy/paste a selection of effects.
I guess I don't get this one. If I have 5 effects on a clip, I can simply command-click on the ones I want to copy over to the other clip. -
I installed PPCC 7.2.2 because I wanted to test the content analyzer to text functionality.
I started the software, loaded a file, and started the analyzer. It then passed this over to Media Encoder as expected and the process chugged along merrily for about 30 minutes. At which point I got bored and decide to stop the process and use a much smaller file to test with.
So, despite years of experience and knowing better I tried stopping the process, and when it wouldn't end I used the Windows Task Manager to kill the process in Media Encoder.
Now when I try to start Premier Pro CC 7.2.2 it crashes on launch and gives me the very descriptive message "Adope Premier Pro CC has stopped working."
My initial attempt to fix this was to uninstall PPCC 7.2.2 and reinstall it. That didn't help.
Based on 38+ years of programming experience I suspect there is a corrupted temp file floating around that PPCC is finding when it launches. So, I looked every place I could think of for temp files and/or crash dumps and deleted them all.
All the "crash on launch" discussions I have found so far refer to MAC systems, so I'm not sure where to look to repair the damage.
Anyone have any ideas on "the most likely" cause of the problem and what I need to clean up to fix it?
Thanks, BobwI uninstalled Quicktime, rebooted 3 times to clear the Windows registry cache, reinstalled Quicktime, rebooted, then tried running PMPRCC 7.2.2.
I got the same non-descript error. So, I checked the Resource Monitor it it showed only PMPRCC7.2.2 hung. I checked the wait chain and it looks like this:

I grabbed screen shots of all that, and also grabbed the lists of "Associated Handles" and "Associated Modules." I'm going to review the list of handles to see if there I can identify a file that has a date/time stamp near the time the problems start. Let me know if you want me to post either or both lists. -
Premier Pro CC and Media Encoder crashing on long file export.
Please forgive the length of this inquiry. But it is complicated and has a lot of variables.
I have an hour long mixed format timeline both Red 3K footage and Black Magic ProRes 1080P footage that I want to make a DVD from and it takes forever and crashes half way through. I have tried doing it every way possible and the only way I was able to get even a partial export was using the "MPEG 2 DVD" export option in Premier CC. It goes fast at first telling me it will take about 2 hours but even though it starts quickly doing about 15 fps it slows down to less than 1 fps and finally just stops and crashes my Cuda Core enabled Macbook Pro Laptop.
I really don't know who to ask about this since there are so many different variables. I never had a problem like this on my MBP with PP6 on a 4K timeline exporting to DVD or Blue Ray or to H-264 or Even Prores. But I wasn't mixing formats either. But on this project the first 20-30 minutes of footage goes through fine in a couple of hours but something seems to be bogging down the system on longer projects. My work around was to break the project up into multiple exports and combining them on the DVD timeline but I can't do this on every project. I thought maybe it was a corrupted clip somewhere in the timeline but when I broke the timeline up into several parts I had no problems.
I did notice a dramatic variance in the time it took to export footage based on the sequence settings. A one minute timeline comprised Red 3K footage and ProRes 1080P footage Here are some sample export results:
From a Red raw 3K timeline 2880x1620 with 1080P Prores footage upscaled 150%)
to .m2v Mpeg 2 720x480 format 1:48 Minutes ***
to .mov Prores 422HQ 1080P 22 Minutes
to .mov H.264 1080P 22 Minutes
to .m2v Mpeg 2 1080P 22 Minutes
From a 1080P timeline Prores footage at 100% (Red footage downscaled to 67%)
to .m2v Mpeg 2 720x480 format 13 Minutes
to .mov Prores 422HQ 1080P 13 Minutes
to .mov H.264 1080P 14 Minutes
to .m2v Mpeg 2 1080P 14 Minutes
Since I am going to DVD, I chose the fastest option Red to m2v Mpeg 2 720x480 format which only took 1:48 per minute. Why? I have no idea. Maybe someone here knows the answer. But again these numbers are for a ONE MINUTE clip when I tried to convert the whole hour timeline to the 720x480.m2v DVD File the Red timeline froze my computer after several hours even though I had set sleep mode to “Never” and turned the display off manually and I had to convert it in multiple chunks. In 20-30 minute chunks it did go fast about 1:48 per minute like the test indicated. But I would like to be able to convert the whole hour and not to have to try to stitch the clips together in my DVD authoring program.
I don’t want to have to avoid using multiple formats on the same timeline or waste time transcoding everything to the same format.
Can anyone give me any suggestions as to why the computer is crashing or bogging down in long exports and what timeline settings I should be using?
I have plenty of room on my Scratch Disk and 8 Gig of RAM and according to my Activity Monitor during the export process have about 800 Meg of System Memory during export but the CPU Usage is 98% and in my Activity Monitor I see under “Process Name” ImporterRedServer flashing up at the top of the list about every second during export.
Why .720x480 mpeg DVD setting is so much faster than all the other export codecs?
And if there are any other settings I can use to get higher speed exports in HD? 14x1 seems a little slow especially since every time it crashes I have to start over.Hi,
Since a long time I did not encounter the crash of Media encoder with
long file export.
But I take care of a lot of details before the export :
- clean up Media cache and Media Cache Files within PP CS6 and/or CC,
- delete all render files with Preview Files,
- rendering of sequences until the rendering is completed,
- PP CS6 and/or Pp CC opened during export to AME and/or Encore CS6,
I guessed to leave Adobe but this company remains the last with a
serious authoring software (Encore CS 6).
I tested :
- Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro X, both are very good software but
no really authoring software for these video editing softs.
Th only way is to "flood" Adobe with "bug reports" and "wish forms"
which are not very easy to use.
And also to call the Adobe support day by day until they send they
escalate the bug.

Newbie with premier pro on a mac and AVCHD
hello all
my head is swirling with all the info on this forum, so I'm hoping someone can answer a few questions.
first my system - new macbook pro 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo, 2 gb of ram, mac osx 10.5.5. I run in "hi performance" mode, for maximum video performance.
premier pro CS4.0.0
camera: canon hf11 vixia
drive where I'm parking the video: g tech g raid 1 terrabyte, FW800.
so people tell me that my system is plenty powerful enough to playback my vids in the timeline without stuttering.
I'm shooting at 24p with the CINE preset on the camera. resolution is set at FXP, which is 1920x1080, 17 mbps.
I copy the MTS files from the camera over to the raid in the finder. then I create a new project, and in the new sequence dialog, I select the AVCHD 1080 24p. the preset info is: For editing AVCHD Formats recorded in 1920x1080 square pixels (non-anamorphic). 16:9 progressive-scan 1080p HD video at 23.976 frames per second. 48kHz audio.
so far so good
I import the clips by selecting "import" in the file menu, then I direct it to the MTS files on the raid and clik import, they all come in no problem. I can dbl-clik them and they pop open a source window and playback pretty much with no problem (sometimes they take a few seconds to get going, but then they're fine).
first problem is - the clips are listed as 29.97 in the project window.
2nd problem, when I drag them into the sequence window and playback, they stutter.
I'm guessing that because premiere thinks that they are 29.97 and my sequence is set at 24, it's trying to fix it as it goes and that's causing the stuttering. this might explain why they play fine in a source window, but stutter in a sequence window, even with no edits. but maybe I'm wrong.
3rd problem - every time I do an export across a seam, it crashes, or only exports the sequence up to the edit, then stops. (the canon splits the video into 1.9 gig chunks, so you end up with multiple MTS files if it's a long clip).
can anyone help?
thanks
ghDon't shoot the messenger because he is bearing bad news!
Get a more powerful computer. The one you have is way underpowered for AVCHD material. Your processor is too slow, you do not have sufficient memory, your disk configuration is below standard. That about sums it up.
Bet your salesperson never told you that next to the camera, you needed a new computer...?
He is eagerly awaiting your return to the shop and has already prepared your order. All you have to do is sign and pay....
PS. Even on 8-core Macs with 16 GB RAM, people are struggling with AVCHD. -
How do I fix this "flickering" in Adobe Premier Pro CS3?
Hi all, I'm currently working on an MMV (A music video based off of a certain video game, similar to anime music vids), but I have a big problem =\ Theres this "flickering" thing in the middle of the video, and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. It plays through, and at a certain point it goes back a few frames and repeates about 5 times.... Just going back and forth... I have tried removing audio but it didn't work. The AVI files outside of Premier Pro are fine. I have also rendered it numerous times to see if it was just Adobe's preview playing up, but.... it wasn't....
If you still can't understand it, I have recorded my problem and uploaded it, in case anyone wants to look at it.
In the vid I am tapping arrow keys through frames, not just playing through.
The first section, the chat bubble is meant to change twice altogether.. but it flickers through and change about 10 times.
Second section, and the rest, are all repeated actions that are only meant to happen once...
Help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
Oops, one more thing (offtopic). My AVI files stopped working literally 30 seconds ago... They just play a black screen on WMP and do nothing in VLC Player. I fixed this previously today by upgrading Xvid.... but I have the latest now, so I don't know what to do... (I can still play them in Quicktime, however)Wow - Fast reply.
Anyway, thanks, I'll lookat that after I post this. I have 1 more question. My video recorder cn record in the following codecs, the one in bold is the one I used. Which one has the highest quality, that will work in Premier? Thanks
Microsoft Video 1
Intel IYUV codec
Cinepak Codec by Radius
Xfire Video Codec
Xvid MPEG-4 Codec
Intel Indeo(R) Video 4.5
Edit: I'll decide which posts were most helpful after this =]
Edit 2: Do you reccomend using Stoik Video Converter, or VirtualDUB?
Edit 3: Thanks for your help, it's fixed now

I am planning to upgrade the HDD to a bigger SATA-2 model. I would like to ask does *MacBook (late 2007)* with *Mac OS X 10.5.2* natively support NCQ / AHCI ? Do I have to enter the BIOS to *enable the AHCI* function of the HDD?
