Onboard Realtek audio problem

I just migrate from a K9N Diamond n590 to K9A2 Plat ver 1. Everything was installed succesfully except when I went into Device Manager there is a yellow ! mark under the "Other Devices" PCI.
I checked Vendor 1002 / Device 4383 which is GlobalTek or onboard HD audio.
I have uninstalled all the video/audio codecs from the previous board and installed Realtek HD audio package, ver 1.87.
In Bios I have enabled onboard audio. Rebooted and verified in Device Manager, there is no device, driver shown.
What could be the problem and how to solve it?  Thanks.

If i understand clearly, you just migrated = putting the drive with OS? in the new system with K9A2 board, and booted up.
Have you installed in some way, the original drivers for this motherboard?
In casu, the SouthBridge drivers, because your previous motherboard was nvidia.
You moved from an nvidia-based mobo to an ATI-based mobo.
The id 1002:4383 is from the High Definition Audio device from ATI(Realtek).

  • Onboard AC97 audio problem

In the past my onboard audio worked, but since the latest AC97 audio drivers, voices in movies are really soft and if I turn the sound effect to Off, every sound in WinXP gets really soft.
Furthermore, if I do use one of the sound effects I get an echo on everything...
Very annoying. Does anybody else have this problem?
    Greetinx,
    Ixvar

    Hia guys!
I got that echoing thing too. In every game echoing was present even though it WAS not turned on. I updated the drivers from c-media's web-site and the problems went away! Worth a try I think.
Launch the c-media driver control-panel and got to the Information selection leaf and on the bottom of that page you see the link to the c-media web-site.
I hope things work out for you!

  • K8N Neo4 SLI Onboard Creative Audio Problem

I'm using a K8N Neo4 SLI board with the CA something Creative Audio chip onboard.  After a cold boot, the audio is alright but after a period of time, I begin to lose power in my left speaker for some reason  .  This has been confirmed to be a problem pertaining to my mobo, and not my speakers.  Any suggestions?

Tried to used driver cleaner to clean all the Creatives drivers then used the drivers provided from the CD or used the latest drivers. If still cannot then configured from Control panel on the speaker or Sound Manager itself. Gd luck.

  • H55M-E23 Problems with Onboard Realtek Gigabit NIC

I just finished a new build HTPC using the H55M-E23 and I'm having problems with the onboard Realtek Gigabit LAN controller.
System specs are:  OS is Windows 7 - 64 bit.  Intel i3-540 @ 3.0 GHz, 4GB RAM, 60GB SSD. NVIDIA GT 430 video card w/ 1MB RAM is only add in card. 300 Watt Power Supply.  NVIDIA card is the primary video card and is set up that way in BIOS.
Everything installed fine and seems to work great, except that when I watch HD video, stored on a local NAS on my home network (all gigabit, including cables), about half the time, the Realtek controller will drop to about 10 MBPS, which causes the video to stutter and lockup.  The video normally streams across the network at about 23 MBPS max.  All other PC's on my network play these videos (home movies) no problem.  CPU utilization on the MSI board is only about 5% and the video card's GPU utilization maxes out at only about 65% when the videos are streaming properly.  Also, I can copy the video directly to the SSD on this HTPC and the video plays fine.  So I think the rest of the hardware on the HTPC is sufficient to do what I'm trying to do.  The truly annoying thing is that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work.
All the latest drivers have been installed for the motherboard, video card, and Realtek NIC (trying both from MSI's website and Realtek's with the same result).  The Windows installation is very clean.  I've wiped the SSD twice and done a fresh Windows install and tried this immediately after the Windows install has competed and all drivers installed and again after Windows has completed all updates and I get the same result each time.  I've tried several "slow network connection" solutions from Google and none so far have worked.
For anyone old like me, this acts like an IRQ conflict from back in the early days of Windows.  Of course Windows 7 doesn't let you mess with IRQ's anymore, at least that I can find.  BTW, Device Manager lists the IRQ for the Realtek NIC as "-2", which is very odd to me, but I'm no expert.  I'm at the point now of disabling the onboard Realtek LAN and buying a cheap NIC to see if that works, but wanted to try to see if MSI has any suggestions or should I RMA the board?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ben

Yeah, I agree that I'll need to upgrade the PSU anyway.  300W is marginal at best for this setup.  I would have probably been ok without the add in video card, but the GT 430 really makes a difference compared to the built-in graphics of the i3 and the card was so inexpensive that it was a no-brainer.  I may try to take out the GT 430 just to see if the Realtek NIC behaves better, but I think long term I'll just get a cheap PCI-e NIC and that should fix things.
I would normally suspect the SSD as well, but I get the stuttering when I'm using the network streaming.  The videos play fine when running directly off of the SSD.  I know the SSD could still cause issues, but everything just seems to point to the Realtek chip.  Honestly, I really think it's a driver / setting issue and not a bad piece of hardware, although I could be wrong.
If anyone has any other ideas, please keep 'em coming.  In the meantime, I'll try a new NIC, etc and let you know what I find.
    Thanks,
    Ben

  • Realtek HD Audio Problem

I have the Z77A-GD65 Gaming board. A new update for the Realtek audio driver was just issued om June 7, V. 6.0.1.6873. When I installed it I discovered that the sound effects tab had dissapeared  and the headphone virtuilization option was gone. I tried uninstalling and re-installing, got the driver direct from Realtek and tried that, same thing. I rolled back to the previous version and the fx tab and headphone option returned. Does anyone know of a solution for this issue ? Thanks in advance.

Okay. It's time for me to feel like an idiot and fess up to it.
I figured out my problem. When the Realtek drivers were updated, the speaker configuration settings were deleted. That upgrade and every subsequent reinstall of the Realtek drivers was defaulting to a 7.1 speaker config. So, since I only have a stereo/2.1 speaker system plugged into my audio outs and I have no center channel, that's why it was sounding so muffled (voices on center channel sounds) and inconsistent (it was being louder when the sounds were on the front L and R channels, and quieter when they were on another channel).
The MS Windows 8 HD Audio drivers must have just been defaulting to a stereo/2.1 setup, so it wasn't having those perceived problems.
Once I figured that out, I went back to the latest Realtek drivers, changed the speaker config to "stereo" and it's working perfectly again. THX TruStudio Pro and all.
I'm willing to admit when I've been a doofus and I thank you all for your time.
EDIT: Also, the repeated "do-do-de-do" sounds from Windows did stop once I had the Realtek drivers installed again, so it must have something to do with the MS driver... perhaps it was having a hard time detecting the multiple input/output audio ports on the mainboard and on the front of my case. In any event, that problem is fixed as well.

  • FME 3.0 crashes detecting realtek audio

FME 3.0 crashes on vista when attempting to capture audio
from onboard realtek HD audio input (analog line in).
When selecting the driver from the audo device list, fme
selects the entry but freezes 10 seconds later and becomes
    unresponsive.
The same setup with the same device is working on FME 2.5

I ran into this problem also when trying to select the
SoundMax HD input on the dell I intsalled it on. I found a fix
instantly. Simply find the .XML file of the profile you are using
(in my case I just changed and saved over the startup.xml file)
which is located on my system at least here:
    E:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application
    Data\Adobe\Flash Media Live Encoder 3
First off, in FME3 write down what audio device its using,
and write down EXACTLY the name of the audio device you want to
    use.
In my case it was "SoundMax HD", spaces and all.
open the .xml file there or wherever you saved your profile
using notepad and make the changes to where it says <device>.
Notice the spaces are left in.
    <audio>
    <device>SoundMax HD</device>
    <crossbar_input>0</crossbar_input>
    <sample_rate>22050</sample_rate>
    <channels>1</channels>
    <input_volume>75</input_volume>
    </audio>
After you make that change, save the file and re-open FME3.
It have the audio already selected. For some reason it doesnt like
swtiching over to it, but it'll start out on it just fine. Hope
    that helps.

  • REALTEK AUDIO DEGRADING OVER TIME WITH FLME - PC WINDOWS 7

I am having a real issue with the onboard Reatek audio card and The Flash Live Media Encoder. I am providing the signal to the onboard Realtk audio card via the mic in source on my computer. The video is coming from my DV cam. At first, the audio sounds fine but after a period of time, the audio begins to degrade until it becomes totally useless - muffled and weak. If I use the onboard DV mic, it's OK. Problem seems to be with the onboard Realtek card. Some times it appears to be related to making some changes in the FLME settings. If I reboot the computer, it fixes it for  a while and then the problem starts again. Running a PC with Windows 7. Anyone else, experiencing this? I have had the same problem on two different machines.

There is no way to do it from windows direct to the TC.
It only presents AFP to the WAN side. And most ISP block SMB from internet access due to risks. There is AFAIK, no suitable AFP protocol utility for windows at the moment. If you google and find one, be aware it probably will not work to your satisfaction anyway.
You must use a Mac to access AFP but even then it is not a secure protocol and I would recommend against it anyway.
So basically if you had have asked before purchasing, I would have said, TC is unsuitable product. It is a backup drive for a Mac. It is not a NAS.. it is not designed for remote access by any computer other than a Mac. It does not support any other file protocol to the WAN interface.. and no secure protocol even there.
A NAS with Time Machine extensions from QNAP, Synology, Netgear all are designed for web access and are far more suitable. Researching a purchase beforehand is always worthwhile.
Anyway, your choices are.. return the TC and buy something more suited to the job.
Or if return is now impossible sell the TC on ebay.. etc and do the same thing.. buy a more suitable NAS.
Or buy a cheap mac mini (even second hand) and use that for communications with home.
Or, replace your current router with something that includes vpn. This is actually a good and commercially sound decision. VPN is generally used by business to connect to remote locations, because it is secure and will allow the greatest flexibility of connection. How hard or easy depends on the current setup. I would recommend a combined modem router with vpn server if you have adsl. Or for cable you can find plenty of routers with combined vpn. You can also use those for adsl if your ISP allows pppoe with bridged modem. The TC will have to be bridged as well. For other broadband it might be harder to find the right kind of box.
Once you setup a vpn you can access it from work using the appropiate vpn client in your work computer.

  • N460GTX Hawk in 2way SLI HD audio problems

Hello everyone and thanks for letting me join. Please bear with me on this post its a little confusing.
    Here is my setup,
I have and alienware aurora pc with the Realtek High Def audio onboard the MB. Check.
I have installed 2 MSI GTX 460 Hawks with SLI bridge and nvidia drivers 260.99 Check.
I allowed installation of the nvidia HD audio driver, 1.0.15.0, Check.
    Here is my issue,
after installing and setting up sli options
When the HDMI cable is plugged into the top card(which by the way is called GTX460 number 2 in the NCP), I get the post screen and sound works the first time on boot up, after a restart or cold boot however, I have to reinstall the nvidia HD audio driver because the system resorts back to onboard audio even though no speakers are plugged in. You see i have the HDTV output going to a receiver so that the sound goes through the TV first.
Now it seems that the nvidia hd audio problem is fixed by attaching the HDMI cable to the bottom card, another words I can reboot without having to reinstall driver....however there is no post screen.....just a no signal message on HDTV until windows comes on.
Now the bottom card was purchased first and put in the second slot first so that installation of the top card would be easier once purchased. I had post screen on the bottom card when it was alone. Now with the new card on top slot I dont and the bottom card is still known as GTX460 number 1 by the Nvidia control panel.
Please tell me I dont have to uninstall the cards and boot with the top card alone first and then install the bottom card second.

thanks for the tips people, as far as the spdif cable nvidia claims its not required, they say the audio is passed through the PCIx16 slot and btw msi didn't ship one with either card.
So, I uninstalled both cards and then this time, installed only one at a time this time starting with the top card first and when i booted i got sound on the top card and it recognized the nvidia audio driver.  I rebooted to make sure i still had audio and i still did.
I then installed the bottom card and attached the bridge and rebooted and then windows auto installed the driver.   I  got no sound this time out of the top card, the system went back to the onboard audio device.    So now im stuck with booting without a post screen, so i can have audio.  Thankfully games seem to still function normally when the hdmi cable is connected to the bottom card.  Im gonna check Dell for a Bios update for this machine, keep thinking guys and gals.

  • How can I just use a generic Realtek audio driver without "Beats Audio" interfering!?

Beats audio is terrible! I just want to have a flat EQ with no stupid sound effects enabled. The only way I've been able to do this so far, is to uninstall the audio driver, and just use the generic windows one instead. But what I would like to do is use a generic Realtek audio driver, and completely remove Beats Audio from my computer.
After uninstalling the audio driver that comes with my laptop, I tried getting a standard Realtek driver from their website. But when I install that, Beats Audio reappears! This is so frustrating! How can I uninstall Beats Audio? I want it gone forever! I can see from searching these forums that this is a common problem. But none of the solutions have shown how to just use a standard Realtek driver without this Beats Audio rubbish.
Can anyone tell me how this is possible? I'll stick to the generic windows driver if I have to. But it would be nice if I could just use the Realtek drivers as they were meant to be.
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. But you've misunderstood the question. I know how to uninstall the sound driver and just use a generic Windows one instead. But what I'm actually looking to do, is install the Realtek audio driver without Beats Audio. Thanks.

  • Can't Hear Audio - Realtek Audio Device

    Hi Guys,
I have an Asus P5Q motherboard with a Realtek Audio Device on board and I can't here any audio. I don't have the tracks muted, I do have the headphones plugged in and I can hear other audio outside of the program. I did have this problem with Premier Pro CS3 but after a reboot one night it just started working...
Is there any particular drivers i need or software or settings to change??
    Link to motherboard specs: http://au.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=709&l4=0&model=2164&modelmenu=2
    Many Thanks in advanced,
    Tim Raphael

Also download http://www.asio4all.com - a free ASIO driver which will work with at least some RealTek devices which I've come across. This driver will dramatically improve latency (reduce it!), and you can actually work realtime in Audition. In Audition's Audio Hardware Settings you will probably see both the RealTek generic driver and Asio4all, as they can coexist on a system. Select Asio4all everywhere you can.
Now, RealTek audio chips aren't exactly high-end hi-fi, so don't expect crystal clear noise free sound - and certainly do not blame Audition when you somehow can't get it ;-)

    hello,
I have a problem i can not figure out how to fix...
When i use the program everything with video works like a charm but i can't for my life figure out how i broadcast audio from my speaker sound and not my mic.
In my device list i have microphone but no sound and can't fix it :S if i had speakers there i could atleast use steriomix
Any tips for programs i can use to mayby emulate a new device.
    Windows 7 ultimate
    Realtek audio card

How many devices you could see under Control Panel->Hardware and Sound-> Manage Audio devices-> Recording Tab.
FMLE will list same devices listed under this tab. Also check the working of those devices from that Tab. If your system sound card can accept audio signals of surrounding then you should be able to see that in Audio Preview bar at that Tab and so does in FMLE.
Green check against devices means it will work properly in FMLE.
    Let me know your findings.

Apparently there is an issue with the Intel PCHs and this audio card specifically. I'm not sure it's 100% related, but I figure it's worth mentioning.
Possibly this is also related: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2027573&p=12109016#post12109016
It sounds like there is an interrupt issue that could possibly be solved by not allowing the CPU to change C-States.
Or it could properly be solved via drivers I believe.
I would contact Realtek about the issue.
Sorry but i can't understand this solution.
