Once a month to zero charge

So I'm following the advice from Apple to let my iPad run to 0% at least once a month, then charge it to 100%. This supposedly yields a more accurate percentage of charge displayed during regularly usage.
Question now is, how to let it go to 0%?
For example, just now it was very low, so I simply turned up the brightness and played a video. It abruptly went dead silent. So yes, that's zero charge. But it didn't feel right. Maybe I'm too used to the Macintosh, where we should always use the shut down command instead of yanking the power cord.
Is there a better way to zero out the battery?

As Dah•veed said, that's the way to do it. That is how you get the iPad to shut off on it's own, by using it until the battery runs down and it shuts off.
You only need to do this once a month in order to calibrate the battery sensor in order to get a more accurate reading from the battery gauge. Don't let the iPad drain down to zero routinely before you recharge the battery. Only do that once a month.
I charge the battery every single night no matter what the battery gauge reads. I have done this since day one with both of my iPads.

Of course, if you use the device it is likely that you will have charge cycles in any event.
On devices with percent charge indicators (iPad, iPhone) I believe that Apple recommends a charge cycle once a month to keep the percent indicator accurate.

I was also reading that when you complete a charge cycle, it decreases the battery's capacity slightly everytime. I remember doing this every once and awhile on my older iPhone 3GS and about 3 yrs down the road, the battery would read about 60% charge then it would just cut off. It would cut off on its own even when it would read 100%. I just want to charge my iPhone 5 in the best way so it can last a long time, more than 3yrs like the 3GS.

You don't need to clean your caches once a month. Doing so will only slow down your computer. OS X takes care of that kind of maintaince.

FTP Polling Adapter Unresponsive or Hangs Once in Month

We have 3-4 services in BPEL 11g which polls data from the FTP server .But out of which one services hangs or Unresponsive (once in months).Due To which files are not picked up from FTP server. Others services are working fine.
Currently, we are monitoring this interface and bounce FTP Adapter (sometimes even SOA Servers as well) in order to prevent this scenario.You are therefore, kindly request to suggest a permanent fix to this problem.

Does anyone know how to set my time capsule to only back up once a month and not every hour - i have around 80GB of data and hourly updates of 80GB has filled up my 500GB time capsule rather fast.

I have very little experience with a stored procedure, but I'm working on learning. This is what I am trying to achieve:
I have a sequence that I need reset once at the beginning of each month. I am using it as a monthly counter. I can code in my program to drop the sequence and re-create it once a month, but I'm really looking to do this with some type of triggered stored procedure within the DB.

Here is an example of what Justin and Scott are saying using a view and analytic functions to give you all the information you are looking for. Note I chose an idiosyncratic increment value in this demo purely to enforce the concept that a sequence generated id should be unique only and not have any meaning.

I am asked to check one system with a workflow running 2+ years. It is actually an task with method which sends an e-mail when Purchase requisition is created.
It istriggered by event in user exit(via function).
The version is IS oil 4.6C.
The problem is that e-mail is not send they say aprox once a month (which I personaly do not believe). However I have to do something (and explain what could be the reason).
What would be your idea to do?
I have in mind to subtye BUS2081 to e.g zz BUS2081 and then delegate bus2081 system wide(which is not done (but I think this will not solve the problem).
In addition all technical details:

There are several things you can check before starting to check the code/solution.
I would start by sending an e-mail from SAP Business Workplace - either to someone who say he/she receives e-mail only once a month, or to yourself if that is not possible. Check how long it takes from the mail is sent until it is received. Once the first mail has been received, send another mail and check the time again (to determine the sendmail process' interval). Of course you can probably just check the configuration of send processes ... but you may as well give them some hard proof.
Secondly, check the send log (transaction SOST) - and find out how often there are the type of messages you are interested in. Alternatively, test the workflow and verify that messages are sent immediately.

These are usually the features of a faulty battery. Restore iPhone Firmware with iTunes 10.7 or 11 on computer. See if better. If not, and there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution. If no Coverage, still make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple Store for free quick (minutes time) battery diagnostic testing.
