Once a password is remembered for a site, and then changed, (yahoo mail), Firefox will not asked to remember new password once it is changed.

Here's how I fixed this issue (2 steps):
1. Tools > Options > Security > Saved Passwords > highlight the website you want Firefox to forget the old password to > Remove > Close.
2. Back to the Tools > Options > Security window, click the Exceptions button to the right of "remember passwords for sites" > find the website you want Firefox to remember the new password for > Remove > Close.
Now you can navigate to the site, type in your username and new password, login, and Firefox will ask you if you want to save the password.
