Once an AP is installed ok to delete the download?

I downloaded some software and saved it to my desktop - the ap's have been installed - I'm guessing it is safe to delete the downloaded file once the ap has been installed? need to ask someone before doing it! I'm very new to MAC but loving it!

Go into your Applications folder
Find the app named Install Mac OS X Lion.app
Move that app to the trash
relaunch The App Store
go to your Purchased list
Click on install next to Lion
It will re-download the installer

TS1394 I downloaded MacKeeper, since it identifies itself as an Apple application. Then I got suspicious and deleted the download. Yet the icon is still in the menu on the top line. System is somewhat slow. Now mackeeper pop up says it can fix all?

My laptop has just been hit by malware disguised as an Adobe update. I deleted the download immediately and restarted but the problem persists. The malware has created a new search page, endless ads but more dangerously is creating hyperlinks hidden in normal webpage text. It is also blocking access to Apple directly and blocking me logging on to my bank etc

Unfortunately, this doesn't work. If you let them download and delete them, they just download again at some point in the future. I've been trying to figure this one out myself, but so far, every time I remove something, it comes back "later".

Right-click on the folder icon on the dock where you put it. Change it from 'Display As: Folder' to 'Display As: Stack'.

Downgrade to an older nightly that works for a week or so, then test again to see if the bug's still there. In the mean time, report the bug on Bugzilla if it hasn't already been. There's really nothing you can do about bugs in nightlies.
(A similar sort of bug that triggered 60 seconds after opening, every time, was what got me out of using nightlies as my main browser.)

(This icon) in the upper right corner.
If you don't know the exact file name, you may have to redownload it so you can see it.
I would also try doing a reboot after you change your desktop background to what you want.

You can use the Customize feature to move it to a less irritating location. I suggest the Add-on bar if you keep that displayed.
Start customizing with either of these, then drag the arrow to a new location, or into the dialog to remove from all bars:
* right-click a blank area of the tab bar > Customize
* tap the Alt key > View menu > Toolbars > Customize
You will notice that some of the combined controls split apart in the customize view. If you put anything between them, they won't be able to recombine. (For example, if you separate stop and reload, or put something between back/forward and the URL box.)
