running win 7 pro x64 and new version of iTunes. Once I close Itunes it will not reopen again without rebooting my system

Has nothing to do with 5.5.
I see this occasionally, and it's faster to go to Task Manager and open the Processes tab, then find InDesign.exe, right click and End Process Tree.

TThe message is a bit deceptive the old libraries need to be upgraded before they can be used. To upgrade quit Aperture select one of the old libraries with the Finder and double click it. This will open Aperture on that library and ask if you want to upgrade it.
WWhile the procedure is safe it is always a good idea to have a backup of the libraries before doing this.

If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store for more than a day (and other customers on our discussion boards aren't experiencing similar issues) a software or Internet service provider (ISP) configuration issue may be blocking your access to the iTunes Store. Update iTunes to the latest version.
If iTunes Store appears empty and only displays the message iTunes Store, follow these steps.

Itunes will not open until I reboot

I'm running a Windows 7 64 bit computer. My music is installed on an external harddrive. Itunes will not open until I reboot my computer. I admit I have a large collection of music but my computer is running 8 gigs of DDR3 ram and a AMD Athlon II x4 630 processor. This should be more than enough to open my music collection. I don't seem to have any problems with any of my other programs. ANY SUGGESTIONS?????

1. Check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
2. Go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
3. Rename file "APSDaemon.exe' into "APSDaemon1.exe" from this location:
32bit Windows C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\
64bit Windows C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\
(Take note that this is a temporary fix until Apple comes up with an update to resolve. This will also disable the capability of WIFI SYNC)

Whilst connected to internet itunes will only open once after rebooting and thereafter it will not open again until reboot. When reboot with internet off itunes will open repeatedly. Help

This problem has only appeared in the past few days before that I had nio problems with itunes. Firstly I discovered that I could only open Itunes once after reboot - thereafter it would not reopen until I reboot again. I have spent considerable hours yesterday talking to the Apple help by phone and tried all there suggestions including of course reinstalling itunes amongst other things. After a short time I then discovered that the reason it was working agai was that I had rebooted with the internet disconnected and itunes would open repeatedly as normal provide I left the internet disconnected. ITunes Store cannot open, cannot upload from CDs, please help

I have no problems in downloading iTunes from this website and then installing it. However, when I open it and insert a CD to upload music, a message comes up that says it cannot connect. After that nothing happens at all. This is extremely frustrating. Someone please help.

I had the same issue and resolved it like this:
1. Downloaded the latest version of ITunes to a temp folder.
2. Disconnected my cable modem from the Internet (for security sake).
3. Uninstalled ITunes, Quick Time and my Norton anti-virus software.
4. Restarted my computer.
5. Reinstalled ITunes and Quick Time (which of course is actually bundled with ITunes).
6. Reinstalled my Norton software.
7. Restarted the computer.
8. Reconnected my cable modem.
Once I did all this, everything worked again. What a pain in the a** this all was. Bottom line, it looks like the 7.6 "upgrade" does not take if you have certain security software installed. It would really be nice of Apple to at least generate an error message to that effect.

An update for numbers was shown for my macbook pro, however even though this has been done I cannot open numbers without updating and when you try to update again it advises you that this is already done so we go round in circles getting nowhere, any idea

Do not delete the old version of Numbers (Numbers 2.3, Numbers'09). It has features that the new Numbers has lost (in particular, Print View).
Numbers '09 has been moved to a folder called iWork '09 inside your Applications folder. The icon on your Dock continues to point to Numbers '09. Launching Numbers from that icon is why you get the "Update" message. Numbers 2.3 is trying to open a Numbers 3 document.
The new version of Numbers (Numbers 3.2 is the latest version) lives in your Applications folder (not a sub folder). Drag that icon to your Dock. It will become an Alias. Right click (or control click) on it and Options > Keep In Dock. Now you can chose which version to run.
Numbers 2 on the left (three columns)
Numbers 3 on the right (four columns).
Both versions will run happily side by side. Just be sure which version you use to open a Numbers document. If Numbers 3 tries to "steal" a Numbers 2 document, you will get a warning when you start to edit:
Edit a Copy will preserve your Numbers 2 document and create a Numbers 3 copy. Cancel will get you out. Upgrade will convert your Numbers 2 document to a Numbers 3 document.
If all else fails, you can do Menu > File > Export To > Numbers '09 to revert.
Do not delete Numbers '09 (or Numbers '08) from your machine! You will need them.

I use a Macbook Pro & I also recently have been unable to get Itunes to open when I click the Icon or choose OPEN. Nothing happens. Recent Mac updates from Apple & a Plug In update from Adobe were the last things downloaded. Don't know if those are the problem or not.
