All, Does the OnCommand Performance Manager CPU graphs report average CPU utilization or ANY load? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi, As per the documentation: Cluster CPU TimeDisplays a graph of the CPU usage time, in ms, for all nodes in the cluster used by the selected workload.The graph displays the combined CPU usage time for network processing and data processing. The CPU time for system-defined workloads that are associated to the selected workload, and are using the same nodes for data processing, is also included.You can use the chart to determine if the workload is a high consumer of the CPU resources on the cluster. You can also use the chart, in combination with the Reads/writes latency chart under the Response Time chart, or the Reads/writes/other chart under the Operations chart, to determine how changes to workload activity over time impact cluster CPU utilization. Graphs for items that Performance Manager doesn't do

OnCommand Performance Manager has a fairly limited scope in terms of what performance it actually manages. Apparently it does capture the statistics but just doesn't show them. Despite the interface being pretty awkward to use in general, it would be nice if the range of graphs was expanded similar to what is available for 7mode. That aside, the recommendation is to use a third party system to pull the data from Performance Manager over API, for example Graphite. I'm wondering if anyone out there has setup Graphite for this purpose or have used other tools (if so, any in particular)? I was hoping to be able to see the traffic on a network interface, something that I had thought would be quick and easy, but setting up yet another tool is a bit of a speed bump.

OnCommand Performance Manager collects data only from clustered data ONTAP systems. However, there are two ways to get performance counters into Graphite (or any 3rd party monitoring tool): * API feed from Performance Manager - benefit - best quality metrics due to proprietery counter post processing not available through ZAPI* Collect counters from cluster using ZAPI and push into Graphite Our solution for customers using both 7-mode and Clustered data ONTAP uses both options concurrently so that in Graphite you are able to see metrics for your entire NetApp estate. Performance Manager LUN latency

Hello,Can you tell me if I can see LUN layer latency in OnCommand Performance Manager ? I can see the LUNs on volume but performance data seems to be gathered only on Volume level. Can I see it also on LUN level? And another question - is there any way to disable performance alerts until certain latency? F.e. I don't want to see alerts for 5ms latency especially as they are logged as critical. It really makes no sense so for the moment I have disabled all performance alerts.

You can 'save as' to png as you probably already saw, or you can use the dfm CLI to generate the same and email, perhaps as a daily report. There is also a data collector that will post to the NetApp ToolChest that submits data to Graphite with dashboards in Grafana. This solution would allow sharing of a URL like you desire. Hi, I installed an instance of Performance Manager and added two clusters to it. For whatever reason I had to ditch the Performance Manager VM and re-deploy it. Now that I have a new instance, I cannot add the clusters to it. Yes, I should have removed them before I destroyed the first instance, but I didn't. How can I tell the clusters that they are no longer being managed by the old instance of Performance Manager? The documentation says to ignore the warning, but alas that is not possible, it will not let you add them. Error: Cluster <xxx> is currently managed by the following instance of OnCommand Performance Manager: URL: https://<xxx.xxx.com>:443System ID: <uuid-here> Managing a cluster with multiple instances of the same application will impact the performance of the cluster. Oracle Performance Manager error VTM-0002

when i am trying to display charts using Oracle Performance Manager it's throwing errors like

UCS Performance Manager and NetApp c-mode filers

We started an evaluation of the UCS Performance Manager. I can't add to the UCS Performance Manager Infrastructure any NetApp c-mode filers. Does anyone have the same problem?

LMS 4.2.3 Performance management

Hi All,
For device count 100(CWLMS-4.0-100-K9 ) how many interfaces or how many devices can be managed by the performance management(HUM).
While creating the new poller with 2 devices(430 interfaces) added its showing an warning
"number of devices for this license.this software license can manage only manage a limited number of devices".
Is the number of pollers can be added are dependent on hardware or the device license count ??
Below link says the number of MIBs managed are dependent on the hardware. but i'm receiving an software license warning.

If you are not using EnergyWise Feature in LMS , you can disable it .
follow the below workaround:
#Stop the Daemon Manager
net stop crmdmgtd
+Unregister the EnergyWise process to disable it and don't allow it to come
up in the next restart :
From : NMSROOT/CSCOpx/bin , run :
pdreg -u EnergyWise
+Start the services :
# net start crmdmgtd
I am sure , this will cut down the CPU.

Expected Sales Volume in Pipeline Performance Management

Hello,
I have created a few opportunities for my sales team with the closing dates in a particular quarter and specified the values for 'Expected Sales Volume' maintained for each opportunity as required. However, when I view the peipeline performance management reports for that month/quarter, I do not see the expected sales volume in the graphs. The graphs in the reports show the expected sales volume as zero. I am not able to figure out why this is happening. Inputs would be appreciated.

Thanks. However, in the Quota Planning page, I'm unable to edit the first row, i.e. the monthly distribution for the sales organization. The monthly distribution for the other rows i.e. the sales team members is editable by me. Could you please let me know how I can enter the values for the monthly distribution for the sales organization also?

My solution (or so I thought) to Power Manager/CPU throttling problems!!!

I have found a solution to all my Power Manager/CPU throttling problems!!! Though there is some good and bad news.
{EDIT: The problem has NOT been fixed, even after latest PowerManager (3.62) and BIOS (1.30) versions. Pretty much ignore anything I say below as the problem is still occurring. Good news: I have NONE of the throttling issues or inconsistent CPU frequency problems I was having before on AC or battery power. Everything, including TurboBoost on battery works! It is completely fixed! (I have no idea how this factors into Lenovo’s statements that TurboBoost is disabled on battery “by design”. There is at least one other post from someone else that also reported TurboBoost was working for them on battery)
Bad news: I don’t really know which one of the many things I tried actually worked. I am sorry I wasn’t more methodical about recording what I did and checking results, but this was my last ditch effort to get this fixed on my own without sending the system in for repair and frankly, I didn’t think it would work. Now that it has worked, I’m hoping my steps can help others.
For anyone interested, here’s what I did… and before anyone says something like “That has nothing to do with managing power/cpu, why would that help?!… etc., please keep in mind I’m just stating exactly what I did. I am aware some of the steps may not be relevant, but who knows… We all know how weird PC’s are sometimes, even the smallest, oddest thing may resolve a problem.So anyway, here goes.
**IMPORTANT** Not sure how many noticed, but there was a new version of Power Manager released a few weeks ago, 3.62. The PM driver seems to have stayed the same. That alone could very well be the sole fix, I’m not sure. You may just want to completely remove PM and PM driver and install the latest version before trying any of the steps below.
1)Made a complete system image via Windows built-in backup feature
2)Disable any 3rd party fan/CPU control utilities (Throttlestop, etc). Make sure they are also not going to run at startup or from a scheduled task
3)Remove Power Manager Driver, then remove Power Manager software
4)Reboot to Windows
5)Remove all traces of the Power Manager drivers/software directories (think it was something like C:\readyapps and C:\drivers.) **For some odd reason after I did this, my wireless stopped working but it resolved itself by the time I was done with these steps, strange
6)Reboot
7)Access BIOS and reset all settings to default
8)Boot into Windows, downgrade to BIOS 1.25 [UEFI: 1.25 - 8BET44WW / ECP: 1.14 8AHT32WW ] via the Windows flash utility. I wanted to downgrade all the way back to 1.06, but the software would throw up some error for any version prior to 1.25 and wouldn’t proceed
9)Reboot to Windows; make sure system booted w/ out issues
10)Reboot again, access BIOS, reset to defaults again
11)Shut down system
12)Disconnect AC power. Remove main battery. Access and disconnect system backup (a.k.a CMOS) battery under keyboard. Discharge residual power in the system (there are various ways to do this, but you could just leave the battery disconnected for a few minutes). Visually inspect the system for anything funky…my system had a slightly but noticeably loose CPU/GPU heat sink/fan assembly power connector.
13)Reconnect backup battery.
14)Reconnect AC power but leave main battery disconnected.
15)Power on. Should get a message indicating “checksum error, system time reset” or something like that.
16)Reboot to Windows. Verified still okay.
17)Downloaded latest BIOS version, 1.26. This time I burned the bootable BIOS flash CD instead of running it through Windows.
18)Restart and boot from disc, flash BIOS to 1.26. Once complete, restart. Verify BIOS set to defaults.
19)Boot back into Windows.
20)Install latest Power Manager driver (1.62 ), reboot if/as prompted. Install Power Manager (3.62), reboot as prompted.
21)Boot into Windows, verified Power Manager was active and working. Verified TurboBoost was working. Restarted system a few times and played around with Power Manager for a bit to see if the different power plans worked and retained the settings, all the while monitoring the Intel TurboBoost utility and PM’s own “power gauges”. Let system Sleep, changed power sources, resumed, etc. Everything was working great.
22)Shutdown, reconnect main battery. Booted into Windows. Again, fiddled with Power Manager for a bit, switching between power plans and AC/battery power. Still worked great.
23)Success!
That’s it. Again, this is not a guaranteed fix guide. These are just simply the steps that I took on my system that resolved the problems many of us are having. Hopefully it will work for others.

All I basically did was download and install...

Now, I did chipset first (didnt ask to reboot) then installed the PM driver (did ask to reboot)
I rebooted.... then I went into bios (1.26) and set everything to default... then restarted saving changes...
Since I prefer not using optimus I changed the display settings in bios right after saving the default settings...
Not sure whether or not you really had to go into bios... but everything seems to be working...
My settings in PM is set to Maximum Power in the Advanced tab, 3rd party monitoring tools is TPFanControl and HWInfo64....

Performance Management Objective Setting

Hi Everyone,
I am working on a full HCM implementation and had a few questions regarding performance management. The client is interested in having goals and objectives "cascade" through org. units and pre-load on Performance Appraisal templates.
In the phap_catalog, I have noticed a value determination named "ORG_OBJECTIVES" and it supposedly auto-fills goals set by managers for the performance review period.
Basically, I am looking for a productive/proper way to have goals flow from the overall organization, through lower level organizational units down to each and every employee.
For example: Company X has 3 overall goals -> Bob Smith works within Org. Unit Y in which there are 3 separate goals that refer to this Org. Unit -> and then Bob Smith has the ability to add 3 of his own goals for the year. Overall there would be 3 overall company goals, 3 org. unit goals (total of 6 that pre-fill) and 3 empty fields for Bob Smith to input his own goals.
Any help would be wonderful. Thank you for your time.

Currently there is no plan for SEM, so I am going to have to take the route of custom tables utilizing the BADI that you mentioned. In terms of custom tables, creating them and using them, I only have a high level knowledge, so any documentation/guidance would be very helpful.

Performance Manager and Data Gatherer

Hello,
I am looking for some basic info (I think). I have been using the EM Console - standalone for some time now but would like to use the diagnostic pack and Performance Manager. Can this be used in a standalone configuration or do I need to buy Enterprise Manager? If it works in a standalone configuration and I do not need to buy it, could you point me in the direction of documentation on how to start the data gatherer on my 9i database on AIX 5?

i suggest you to uninstall businessobjects and install again(else it's very hard to add the performance management program).
while you install, check the install performance management also(you have to have the keyword).

Replacimg performance Manager with SSM(SAP Strategy management)

Can any body tell me how to migrate all the scorecards, KPIs based on Performance Manager to SAP Strategy Management. Is there is a tool for that in SSM if not should those be rebuilt in SSM from the scratch.
how do we replicate everything fromPM to SSM
From the developer perspective what will their tasks.

What the External Data Loader does is to allow you to transfer your scorecard structure from Performance Manager to Strategy Management. What you are importing is the structure of Contexts, Perspectives, Objectives and KPI aspects. It allows you to put all of these in the loader, verify the structure in the loader, and then using Transport to bring into SSM.
There are additional definitions and settings that SSM requires that will have to be added after you Transport the loader's data.
You will still have to build PAS models separately, because the External Data Loader does not build models.
The Transporter tool in SSM allows you to export (and then import) your scorecard metadata from DEV to PROD. Moving between systems is a two-step process, and Transporter is step one. PAS is separate (step two) and you make a dump of the model in your DEV system, take that dump file from the Home directory in DEV and move it to the Home directory in PROD. In the PROD system you create a new PAS model frame and then load that dump into the new framework.
Each SAP customer has a super-administrator that can add users to the SAP Service Marketplace. Find out who your super-admin is and get yourself added to allow you access to those areas on Service Marketplace.
