One account on multiple devices

Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to get one account on multiple devices. I know that a personal iTunes account is allowed on at least five devices but I'm trying to get one business account on say "100 devices" is this possible?
Thanks in advanced.

Hi rRamiro,
You are correct that with personal Apple IDs you can download apps on 10 devices (up to 5 computers and the rest on iOS devices). The only way to use a single Apple ID on say 100 devices is through the use of Apple Configurator. (click the link and scroll down to the section for Apple Configurator to learn more)
If you are an educational institution or business you will want to enroll in Apple's Volume Purchase Program (VPP) which allows a single Apple ID to purchase multiple licenses of an app. Most developers will offer a 50% discount on their app when 20 or more VPP licenses are purchased in a single transaction.
With Apple Configurator you can distribute the VPP codes to your fleet of iPads. Apple Configurator uses a single Apple ID to install apps on your iPads. Configurator will also allow you to install free apps on multiple iPads using a single Apple ID.
Hope this answers your question!

  • Downloaded itunes apps from one account onto multiple devices - HELP!

    Hi guys,
I have an iPhone and an iPod, both registered on my same apple ID. My boyfriend uses my iPOD, and often downloads apps directly onto the iPOD. I would like a list of all my downloaded and bought apps so i can download them all onto my iPhone as well, without having to sync the iPOD to my iTunes to transfer purchases. Where can I see my purchase history on iTunes, so I can go through and re-download apps?
    Thanks so much
    xxx

Log into your iTunes account in iTunes (click on your ID in the upper right hand corner of the iTunes Window). You can then click on the View Purchases button.

  • HT204380 Is there a way of using the same FaceTime account on multiple devices?

Is there a way of using the same FaceTime account on multiple devices?

Yes you can use the same Apple ID on multiple devices and FaceTime with each one. You have to associate a different email address on all but one of the devices.
Lets say you have two iPads and two iPods..... All sharing the same Apple ID. When you set up FaceTime on three of the devices, you have to associate another mail address in Settings>FaceTime>You can be reached for Video calls at>Add Another email address. Add a different email address in that setting and let Apple verify the address.
After that email address has been verified by Apple (they send you an email to that address so look for it in the inboxes of that email account and follow the instructions in the email), then remove the Apple ID email address on each of those three devices. You can use the primary Apple ID email on the fourth device.
Obviously, you have to have additional email addresses but you can set up free email accounts with AOL, Yahoo, gmail .... and you can use the email address just for FaceTime if you like.

  • HT1495 Multiple logons for one computer and multiple devices trying to use one itunes account.

I have one computer with a logon for Kids and one for Adults.  There is a touch and nano that was added to a single itunes account tied to my email on the adult logon and the shuffle that is on the kids account.  I can't seem to get the multiple devices access to all the songs with out erase and re-sync error message when not using the right device on the assigned logon to the computer - why and can we change this?

It sounds like each Windows user has it's own iTunesLibrary.itl file.  If that is the case, then you are correct, the correct device must be connected when logged in with the correct login.
If all Windows logins share an iTunesLibrary.itl file... then it does not matter which login is used or which device is connected.

  • ISE1.1 - Use of one guest account on multiple devices

I have ISE1.1 with local web authentication process for "Guest" Wi-Fi. I faced a problem in bulk guest account creation and TAC filed a bug - CSCup38457: "importing guest account CSV fails via sponsor portal"
Now, I need to allow guests to connect to "Guest" Wi-Fi using multiple devices (approx. 200). My queries are below:
1- Is it possible to permit one guest account to be used by approx. 200 devices at same time?
2- On how many devices single guest account can be used?
3- Is there any limitation or abnormal behavior in terms of guest portal for such cases?

Are you sure that is true?
When I look at the restriction on device registration I read that as applicable only to Device Self Registration, not to normal guest access.
So as far as guest sessions per user I can either choose to limit to one with the check box, or allow infinite.
And the Device Registration Portal Limit applies to self registration of devices, not just standard guest access. The OP doesn't look like he wants to register devices, he just wants to allow guest access for multiple devices.
This is how I read it anyway. Please let me kno if you think otherwise.
If this is not the case, then is it not possible to create a standard Network Access User (not through guest portal) and have as many users access this as you need? In this case 200. As long as you disable password changes/expirations/lockouts etc.
If not I may be in trouble :-)

  • We have three Ipads in our house.  We have one itunes account with multiple devices like two Iphones and Apple TV.   My question is about our three Ipads.   How can I set up the imessaging and facetime on all three devices while only using one Itunes acct

Okay.  We have three Ipads in our house with only one Itunes account.   When I go into imessaging and facetime on each of the devices, it wants to start switching my wife's cell phone and then the three emails associated with each Ipad to the contact information for all of the Ipads.    As of this morning, only the imessaging and facetime are turned on my wife's iphone and ipad.   My kids imessaging and facetime is turned off.     Do you really have to have an itunes account for each device to make then work???    Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Ryan

There is only one solution. Each user must have their own separate user account. All of their respective data would be contained in their separate user accounts. This also means each will have a separate iTunes Library. If you all use the same third-party apps, then each will have to purchase their own copies under their own Apple IDs. Some data sharing is possible. See:

  • How do multiple family members use iTunes.? One account or multiple?

How do multiple family members use iTunes. One account right now but apps gets added to all devices and iTunes messages go to all devices.  Can multiple accounts be setup and still have ability to share purchased items?

    Hey Ajtt!
I have an article for you that can help inform you about using Apple IDs in a variety of ways:
Using your Apple ID for Apple services
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4895
Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases
You can use different Apple IDs for iCloud and Store purchases and still get all of the benefits of iCloud. Just follow these steps:
    iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
When you first set up your device with iOS 5 or later, enter the Apple ID you want to use with iCloud. If you skipped the setup assistant, sign in to Settings > iCloud and enter the Apple ID you’d like to use with iCloud.
In Settings > iTunes and App Stores, sign in with the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). You may need to sign out first to change the Apple ID.
    Mac:
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in Apple () menu > System Preferences > iCloud.
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in Store > Sign In. In iTunes 11, you can also click iTunes Store > Quick Links: Account.
    PC (Windows 8):
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in the Control Panel. To access the iCloud Control Panel, move the pointer to the upper-right corner of the screen to show the Charms bar, click the Search charm, and then click the iCloud Control Panel on the left.
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes. In iTunes 10, select Store > Sign In. In iTunes 11, click iTunes Store > Quick Links: Account.
    PC (Windows 7 and Vista):
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in Control Panel > Network and Internet > iCloud.
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes 10 in Store > Sign In. In iTunes 11, click iTunes Store > Quick Links: Account.
Note: Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID for your iTunes Store account, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days. Learn more about associating a device or computer to your Apple ID.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

  • How to share account with multiple devices?

3 kids with 3 devices - an iPod Touch and two iPads Mini - family shares one account with Apple/iTunes and one library on our family PC.  They use FACETIME and MESSAGES with their friends, and they all see each others messages and conversations.  How do I fix this?  Is there a setting or a way to create sub-accounts off the family account so they can still share the main library for music and video OR do I have to create separate Apple/iTunes accounts for each kid?  Is there a setting on their devices that can help?  Any help is greatly appreciated.  I'm not even sure the right question to ask...

  • One Account for Multiple Businesses

I run a number of small companies and want to use Skype to handle the phone calls.
Each company needs to have its own phone number.
I know that I can have up to 10 numbers associated with one account, which is great. However I don't know the specifics of how this will work in practice.
What I need to know is:
    1. Will I be able to tell which number was called when receiving a call (so that I can answer with the appropriate company name)?
    2. Will I be able to tell which number was called if the call goes to an answerphone?
    3. Will I be able to customise the answerphone outgoing message so that it's different for each number?
    4. Can two people on separate devices be logged into the same account with these multiple numbers at the same time?
4a. If so, can these two people call each other using this account?
4b. If so, can they each answer separate calls?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

  • My husband and I have separate iTunes accounts and multiple devices (iPads, iPhones, iPods etc) how do we share our music and apps between our devices if we have different iTunes accounts.

Help! My husband and I have multiple devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod ) that we we have linked to individual iTunes accounts ie he has his account with iPad, iPhone, PC and iPod linked/sync and I have my account with iPhone, iPad, iPad mini, PC etc.. How do we share our music and apps across/between our accounts?

It probably means that only one of you can use iCloud or at least sync calender/contacts with it. I would guess that you could manually manage the other phone as you have before.

  • Is it possible to have filters for one account on 3 devices ? And have the same results/folders.

I have one email account on 3 devices and I need to filter all received emails, on all 3 devices. Same folders and same filters.
If I create a filter rule on one PC then I can't find the filtered emails ( that are in the new created folder on PC no.1 ) on the other devices. What can I do?

To answer the question as stated in your topic, it's possible but not easy.
Obviously you can enter the same filters by hand on each installation of Thunderbird, but it's tedious and error-prone. You can set them up on one machine and copy the filter files over to the other machines. Also tedious and error-prone.
The way you describe the messages vanishing from sight suggests strongly that you're currently using POP, and this has no way of making use of shared folders. To continue working in this way, all you could do is set each client to leave a copy on the server for the others and painstakingly manage a set of filters on each and every machine, keeping them in synch by hand and careful management. (And ditto for your folders.) You'd also have to attend to the POP server from time to time to remove accumulated messages left there by your clients.
The real answer to this and your later question is to use an IMAP-connected account, where all your data lives in one place, on the email provider's server, and all your devices simply look at and work with one common set of data. Any filtering, editing, moving, etc you did on one machine would very quickly become visible on the other machines. In fact. the ability for more than one machine to be simultaneously be working on the same message becomes a somewhat worrying possibility. It's not clear if this is a likely event in your scenario.
Even using IMAP, if you filter at the client then you'd still have the issue of managing multiple instances of your filters, and the final part of this is to make use of filtering offered by the server; then the filtering takes place "at source" and you have just one filter set to maintain.
If your current email provider doesn't provide IMAP, and cannot offer it, then there are many alternatives who will. If it's for business then I think you should look for a paid-for service that includes guarantees, backups and an SLA. Your domain provider should be able to offer this.
For personal use, many of the free suppliers are worth considering. Googlemail works well, but if you're uneasy about their pervasiveness, have a look at gmx/1&1. Microsoft's hotmail/live mail/outlook.com offers IMAP. Yahoo! probably does (please check in your locality) but they have a bad track record and a lamentable reputation and I wouldn't want to entrust them with any precious material.

  • Can I share an iTunes account with multiple devices?

I had an iPhone 3GS. Just upgraded to an iPhone 5C. I'd like to save the 3GS for our daughter to use as an iPad Touch. I realize that I'll need to wipe the 3GS clean and start over with new apps for her. I have a few questions:
Can I use my same iTunes account for both devices, or must I create a new iTunes account for my daughter's app and music purchases?
How do I change the device name in iTunes, so that her iPhone no longer bears my name?
Also, can I sync both devices on the same computer, or is it better to use different computers for the two devices?
    Thank you!

    Agile,
Any of the above will work, depending how you would like to set it up.
Given that kids tend to eventually grow up and be independent, the best long term answer for most people is to let her have her own account and her own library as soon as she can handle it.  Keep in mind that content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, so separating later is a challenge.
If you want to sync multiple devices to the same library, that will work.  Or if you want separate libraries (as I would recommend), they can be either on separate computers or on separate Windows user accounts on the same PC.
For the name change:  Connect the device.  When the name appears in the left sidebar of iTunes, highlight it and change it.

  • FaceTime: One apple ID, multiple devices

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me solve this dilemma. I have one apple ID that's signed on for multiple devices (iMac, iPad and my iPhone 4). And I'm having tough time trying to figure out how to call from one device to another. For example, from my iPad (when I'm on the road) to my iMac (at home). How do I set that up?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best,
    M.

When you sign into facetime or imessage you can specify a unique email for that device, this becomes the facetime or imessage id for that device.
Hense multiple id's per device, certain id's can be used over multiple devices without any issues.  For example settings, itunes, and then sign in with all the same itunes id.
An apple id has a sub heading
    icloud
    imessage
    facetime
    gamecentre
    itunes
each can have there own unique email address (id) and each one can be signed out and signed into with a different email address by going through settings, then the app you want.

  • Can I set up icloud for one account on multiple PCs?

Before I start using iCloud, I wanted to know if it would do what I really want it to do.  I have a person Windows 7 PC at home that I do most of my picture scanning and I have a work PC runing Windows XP, where I do most of my iTunes purchasing.  I also have an iPad that I use for everything I can including modifying documents using Pages.
I want to know the following:
    1. can I have the two different PCs set up to the same iCloud account so that they transfer things between them and to my iPad?
    2. can make changes to a document in Pages on my iPad and then instead of using iTunes as I do now, use iCloud to get it to one of my PCs so I can work on it more?
    Thanks
    Dragonladytls

No, you have to set up your account on your device.

  • How to share or synchronize one account on multiple macs?

My family uses one account on iTunes on our central iMac. I would like two of children, who each have their own macs, to be able to access the same music library & purchase songs on their own. How is this done?

I think the best way would be to make different user accounts on the mac, and then just share the library. Then they should be able to see the shared iTunes library, and have their own accounts on iTunes personal to them as well.
