One Apple ID, multiple iClouds?

I want to use one Apple ID for all my family's devices, but each device have it's own unique iCloud account.  How do I do this?  When I go to Settings --> iCloud --> it asks for an Apple ID, and there doesn't seem to be something to select to create a new iCloud account.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
To create an iCloud account, open Settings > iCloud, and log in with an Apple ID.
Note that you cannot create more than one iCloud account with only one Apple ID, so each family member will need to create an Apple ID for iCloud

  • Can one mac have multiple iCloud accounts?

Hi, we have a family Mac, and everyone uses one Apple ID for iCloud and iTunes except for me. I want to get my Pages documents to sync with my phone iPad and the family mac, but the others in my family still need to use their iCloud account too.

You can create separate user accounts and sign into your respective iCloud accounts within your user account.

    Naive question but here goes.
As a family we have one Apple ID. All devices are synced via my PC and backed up to it rather than to iCloud.
Books purchased via Kindle App appear on all the devices within the "cloud" option. How do I separate each reader's prefernce to their own device? I want to make sure that the younger one's dont have access to anything unsuitable.
    Thanks.

You can have one AppleID for your purchases so that all teh devices can use all the apps without having to buy them again, and at the same time, have different iCloud accounts for each user so that their content is not intermingled with everyone else's.  You can even go so far as to have your iCloud Account enabled for "Find my iPhone" for each of the other devices allowing you to keep track of where tehy are when they get misplaced.
If you need/want, you can share iCloud Calendars between different iCloud accounts as well.  This is exactly what my wife & I have done.  We share calendars so I know when she has classes or dog competitions, and she can see my work schedule so she knows what nights I have to be in late, etc.

  • FaceTime: One apple ID, multiple devices

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me solve this dilemma. I have one apple ID that's signed on for multiple devices (iMac, iPad and my iPhone 4). And I'm having tough time trying to figure out how to call from one device to another. For example, from my iPad (when I'm on the road) to my iMac (at home). How do I set that up?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best,
    M.

When you sign into facetime or imessage you can specify a unique email for that device, this becomes the facetime or imessage id for that device.
Hense multiple id's per device, certain id's can be used over multiple devices without any issues.  For example settings, itunes, and then sign in with all the same itunes id.
An apple id has a sub heading
    icloud
    imessage
    facetime
    gamecentre
    itunes
each can have there own unique email address (id) and each one can be signed out and signed into with a different email address by going through settings, then the app you want.

  • One Apple ID, Multiple iPads...iMessage Help

I have one Apple ID, and several iPads. I want each iPad to be able to send/receive its own iMessages.  How can this be done?

I use FaceTime and Messages on four different devices and they all use the same Apple ID. You need to assign different email addresses to each device in order to do what you want to do. There are various ways of creating different email addresses if you don't have then already ...iCloud, gmail, Yahoo, AOL, .... You only need to use the email address for these two apps and nothing else if you don't want to use the email accounts.
Watch this video for the instructions on how to do this.

  • Two iphones, one apple account and icloud backup?

my wife and I both have iphones with only one apple account, I did the icloud back up on my phone and everything is fine, but when I did hers it shared all of our contacts, now I have two diiferent accounts set up for itunes, do I need to create another apple account for her phone and can we delete the contacts that were put on our phones without losing anything else? Thanks

If you are sharing an iCloud account do not start deleting contacts on either device.  Doing so will delete them from iCloud and the other device and they will be lost.  To prevent merged data like this you need to have different iCloud accounts on each device.  You can continue to use the same ID for purchasing from the iTunes and App stores; it does not need to be the same as your iCloud ID.  To fix this, first decide which phone will be getting the new iCloud account.  Then on that phone, go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone.  After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The other phone will not be effected by this.)  Next, set up a new iCloud account on this phone using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to this new account.  At this point you will have two different iCloud accounts, one for each phone, with identical data on them.
You will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the other person's data from your account (such as deleting your wife's contacts from your iCloud account, and vice versa).  These changes will be reflected on each phone.  When finished you will have individual iCloud accounts with just your own data on them.

  • One Apple ID, Multiple devices

Getting married soon and joining two Apple households. We will have an iMac, iPad, MacBook and two iPhones. Is it possible to have one apple Id for all of these computers/devices?  Thanks in advance.

Since you are allowed to share purchases between accounts via Home Sharing in iTunes, my wife and I each have our own separate account and only share stuff that we like in common. It has it's own caveats, (like ninja purchases without notifying the other, ending up in a double purchase) but so far works for us.
    Added:
As for the single shared account and iCloud, I beileve there was a setting that allowed you to stop auto-downloading.
You can always go to iTunes / Purchased and manually download things you would like.
Hopefully they will make it app-specific as I think it would be nice to have songs auto-downloaded (similar tastes) but not apps.

  • One Apple ID Two ICloud Accounts several devices?

    Hello,
My wife and I have added some IOS devices and I am very confused on how to setup what I want... please help!
    Old Setup:
In the past we've used one Apple ID for all devices: one Mac, one iPad, one iPhone and an old iPod that syncs manually.
What I want to have now:
Now we have one Mac, 2 iPads, and 2 iPhones.  I want to keep all devices under the same Apple ID so all can share Music.  I want to segregate/seperate the following data:
    1. my iPhone/iPad/shared Mac - contacts, calendar, mail, apps, photo stream.
    2. wife's iPhone/iPad/shared Mac - contacts, calendar, mail, apps, photo stream.
What I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around is how to keep some data (and device - Mac) shared but some data and IOS devices seperate.
Can I setup two calendars, address books, etc to individual iCloud accounts that sync with same Mac?
Thanks for any help in advance!!

I d suggest another use account on your mac for calendars contacts and everything with the cloud.
Can I setup two calendars, address books, etc to individual iCloud accounts that sync with same Mac?"
    not on one account.

  • HT204053 i use one apple id for icloud and one for itunes  and now it wont let me since i reset my phone now  i up graded to iphone 4s still the same problem

please help me fix this problem I have one id  for icloud and one for itunes that i share with my husband

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • One apple ID, multiple Iphones

Currently we have 2 iphones sharing an apple id.  In the beginning it wasn't a problem, but now it is.  All the contacts are a mess.  I would like to create a new apple ID for one of the phones, but is there a way to not lose all the contacts on one of the phones.  Hoping there is a way to save them and then edit the contacts list on a PC.  HELP!

You can migrate one of the phones, along with a copy of the iCloud data, to a new iCloud account.  To do this, start by saving any photo stream photos you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing notes with iCloud, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the other phone won't be effected by this), choose Keep on My iPhone and provide the password when prompted.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload the data.
Once both phones are on separate accounts, you can go to icloud.com and manually delete any data you don't want from each account without effecting the other.

  • One Apple ID - two icloud - sync calender

I have one iPhone (private) and one iPad (work)
i want to sync the calendar between them - both ways - but only the iPhone gets the iPad info not the other way
I have tried these fora, and checking and unchecking calendars and i am just stuck. Maybe it is not possible...
In trying to figure it out, I have noticed that on the iPad it is not possible to backup to iCloud - it is toned out (the usage displayed is the same as on the iPhone)
I have come to a full stop, and cannot seem to find the solution anywhere...
    Any hints

I forgot to mention, that the devices are tied to the same apple id

  • One apple ID, multiple companies provisioning profiles

The title is quite self-explanatory and the issue is very simple... but the intricate system set up by Apple for provisioning makes it a nightmare to solve.
I am an iPhone/iPad developers and I am working for several companies each one having their company provisioning profile.
Is it possible to receive and add multiple invitations from different companies under the same account?
    Thanks,
    MJ

    Yes.
Recieving invitations from different companies should not be a problem.
Once you have several company bindings, a developer.apple.com session works like this: Each time you log in, you can switch companies -- you'll be presented a drop-down box. During one session, it's no different than being a member of a single company. If you have the appropriate permissions, you should be able to send invitations, too.
Remember: to switch company binding, you need to log out and re-login. (At least, that's what I think.)
What's the matter with Apple's provisioning system?

  • Ios 5 one apple id multiple users

    Hello All,
This is probably premature, here is our setup:
    (2) iPhone 4's
    (1) iPad "1"
    (1) Apple TV
They all share the same Apple ID.
When iOS 5 releases does anyone know if you will be able to have seperate photo streams and the ability to decide what gets pushed to where?
    Thanks

Everything Apple has publicly released about iOS 5 is on there web pages and available for you to read.  Until it's released, the only legal users are developers who are bound by NDA not to discuss the beta and it's features. Wait till Wednesday.
