One Apple ID - two icloud - sync calender

I have one iPhone (private) and one iPad (work)
i want to sync the calendar between them - both ways - but only the iPhone gets the iPad info not the other way
I have tried these fora, and checking and unchecking calendars and i am just stuck. Maybe it is not possible...
In trying to figure it out, I have noticed that on the iPad it is not possible to backup to iCloud - it is toned out (the usage displayed is the same as on the iPhone)
I have come to a full stop, and cannot seem to find the solution anywhere...
Any hints

I forgot to mention, that the devices are tied to the same apple id

  • One Apple ID Two ICloud Accounts several devices?

    Hello,
My wife and I have added some IOS devices and I am very confused on how to setup what I want... please help!
    Old Setup:
In the past we've used one Apple ID for all devices: one Mac, one iPad, one iPhone and an old iPod that syncs manually.
What I want to have now:
Now we have one Mac, 2 iPads, and 2 iPhones.  I want to keep all devices under the same Apple ID so all can share Music.  I want to segregate/seperate the following data:
    1. my iPhone/iPad/shared Mac - contacts, calendar, mail, apps, photo stream.
    2. wife's iPhone/iPad/shared Mac - contacts, calendar, mail, apps, photo stream.
What I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around is how to keep some data (and device - Mac) shared but some data and IOS devices seperate.
Can I setup two calendars, address books, etc to individual iCloud accounts that sync with same Mac?
Thanks for any help in advance!!

I d suggest another use account on your mac for calendars contacts and everything with the cloud.
Can I setup two calendars, address books, etc to individual iCloud accounts that sync with same Mac?"
    not on one account.

You can share the same Apple ID for purchasng form the iTunes and app stores without any problems, but you should all used separate iCloud accounts with separate Apple IDs.  (You are not required to use the same ID for iCloud and other services as you do for the iTunes store.)  This will prevent you from ending up with merged data.  You should also use separate Apple IDs for iMessage and FaceTime or you will end up getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.

Also, I'd prefer to keep the same ID on both so I will keep access to my calendar/contacts/etc on both devices.  Would I be able to share reminders and voice memos and the like as well?  And how often would they update each other?  If I edit a contact on the 5, and the 4 is in wifi, assuming they're both on my same ID, will the contact update on the 4?

  • Two iphones, one apple account and icloud backup?

my wife and I both have iphones with only one apple account, I did the icloud back up on my phone and everything is fine, but when I did hers it shared all of our contacts, now I have two diiferent accounts set up for itunes, do I need to create another apple account for her phone and can we delete the contacts that were put on our phones without losing anything else? Thanks

If you are sharing an iCloud account do not start deleting contacts on either device.  Doing so will delete them from iCloud and the other device and they will be lost.  To prevent merged data like this you need to have different iCloud accounts on each device.  You can continue to use the same ID for purchasing from the iTunes and App stores; it does not need to be the same as your iCloud ID.  To fix this, first decide which phone will be getting the new iCloud account.  Then on that phone, go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone.  After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The other phone will not be effected by this.)  Next, set up a new iCloud account on this phone using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to this new account.  At this point you will have two different iCloud accounts, one for each phone, with identical data on them.
You will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the other person's data from your account (such as deleting your wife's contacts from your iCloud account, and vice versa).  These changes will be reflected on each phone.  When finished you will have individual iCloud accounts with just your own data on them.

  • One apple id two different users

I was the "original" purchaser and user of iTunes music.  Had music on my desktop (then laptop) and iPhone and Nano and iPad Mini, etc.  Many years ago I also got my husband an iPod.  We just used my Apple ID and manually added music to his iPod since he and I have mostly different tastes in music.  It wasn't really much of an issue back then.  But since then he now has a Mac Mini and a new iPod Touch.  His Mac Mini has it's own library of music which is obviously different than the library on my MB Air.  We have "my music" and "his music" most all of which has been purchased from iTunes under the one Apple ID. I keep all of our mobile devices set to sync manually so there's no unintentional "cross mixing" of our music. Obviously in hind sight I should have setup his own Apple ID for all of his music back then, but that's a bridge already crossed.
So what's the problem?  It started as one thing but has morphed into an additional thing...  He was getting confused/irritated that on his iPod he was "seeing" "my" music which he didn't want to see or play.  I did some googling and found the setting to turn off so that he would only see music that was actually ON his iPod rather than all purchased music.
Then the second problem came up.  He had copied most everything from his library to his iPod Touch, and certain songs would play for awhile and then the sound would stop.  Music would keep moving - but no sound.  Several trips and phone calls and apple support help couldn't figure out the problem.  It was not hardware related.  I now think that the problem is that the music that stops playing is Protected AAC music and that is causing some squirrelly things to happen.  I found a site that explains how to change this protected music to purchased music using iTunes Match.  And I am not averse to doing that.  But I am so unclear about how iTunes Match would work with both his library and mine that I'm not ready to do that without some input and guidance.  I have two scenarios I would like help with:
Ideal Plan:  Set him up with his own Apple ID but he still has complete access to all of the current music that he wants including getting the protected music to be purchased music so that it works.  In the future all of his purchases are done under his Apple ID.
If That isn't Possible Plan:  Use iTunes Match to change the protected music to be purchased music so (hopefully) his iPod Touch won't stop playing those older protected songs.  And I think I'd like to use iTunes Match for my music library as well because I put music on my iPhone and it takes up a lot of space.  Would rather be able to access it through the Cloud rather than have it all physically on my phone.  But what next?  I certainly don't want to see all of his music and playlists on my phone, and he doesn't want to see my music and playlists on his phone.
    If I ...
    a. setup  iTunes Match on his desktop to fix the protected music problem, then
    b. copy everything to his iPod, then
    c. turn Match off on his desktop and iPod
       what will happen if I
    d.  setup iTunes Match on my desktop and iPhone - will I see all of his music too which I don't want to do??
I am so confused and I'm not sure my questions make any sense to anyone else.  But if anyone can point me in the right direction for a solution I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks for any tips or solutions.

I understand.  But "his stuff" isn't on my machine so iTunes Match wouldn't find "his" music to match up.  It's only on his machine.
    Marcy,
Match looks for stuff to upgrade in your purchase history, not on your machine.  In fact, to make the upgrade work, the first thing you have to do is delete the DRM version!
Here are the steps for using Match to upgrade (the reference doc is  iTunes Store: iTunes Plus Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Apple Support ):
Can I upgrade my previously purchased music to iTunes Plus?
Yes. If you subscribe to iTunes Match, you can download your previously purchased music again in the iTunes Plus format. To do so:
You need to delete the original DRM song from your library first. Doing this enables you to download the song again in the iTunes Plus format from iTunes in the Cloud.
Click the Purchased tab in the iTunes Store.
    Click Music.
Locate the artist of the song you want to upgrade.
Click the iCloud Download icon next to the song you want to upgrade.

  • One Apple ID two phones big problem.

    Hi guys,
Before 6 months I bought new Iphone 4s,but it was used one day from person who sell it to me, so it already has Apple id.
I deleted user and created my user which was synced with iCloud and worked without any problem.
Before 10 I bought Iphone 5, also created my Apple ID on it and sync with my PC/ iCloud.
Yesterday I want to sell my first Iphone 4 and I did reset ( Erase all content and setting), but it did not want to wake up, so i started it with DFU mode using I tunes, and I did restore and update.
Now I am facing to bit problem, on the begging steps it says something like "this apple id cannot be used to unlock this iphone".
If I go to iCloud I can see only one device and currently its new iPhone 5, but both devices called with same name, so I am not sure is this problem.
    So I have two doubts:
    - I am not sure does SIM card can make this problem(on initiation phase you have to put sim in Iphone), because main is much smaller now so I using my wife SIM to finis registration Iphone 4 (iPhone 5 using smaller than iPhone4)?
    - another thing It says you have to "use original apple id..", like I sad on the beginning when i bought Iphone4 it already has apple id on it, which I was deleted and configure main (afterwards this device was visible on my iCloud). So do I need to put first creaded apple id, does iPhone remembering first created or last used. If yes I have big problem because I dont have contact of user who sell it to me.
I want to add one thing, Iphone is not stolen I have warranty documentations and all profs that is not stolen.
PLEASE HELP, in my country we have awful support !

Just left the Apple store with an official answer.  You can have two phones one Apple ID, turn off auto updates so you don't automatically get apps on both phones. Then you need two different iCloud accounts.

  • Two iphones, one iTunes account, two icloud accounts

    Hi,
I have two iPhones, one  privat, one from my company.
    I would like ...
... to have all music, apps, books bought via iTunes to be on both iPhones - use same Apple ID for iTunes account?
... seperate calender, contacts, todos - use different Apple IDs for iCloud?
Is there still a way to have all pictures taken in one common photo stream?

I have the same question.  My daughter and I share an apple account which is fine, but now I am getting some of her texts and each time I send her one I get a duplicate?  I thought I messed this up when we tried to Facetime each other and I have deleted all those options.  How do I fix it so I have my own texts and she has her own texts, I don't get duplicate texts but she can still access our I tunes account?  Please help

  • Two Apple IDs, Two Icloud accts, two contact data bases??

Hi all, I hope you might help me sort this mess out. Thanks in advance.
I have two Apple IDs - one of those ids is tied to iTunes and is my primary account, as it is linked to the Itunes store, my Iphone and Ipad. It has 5gb of which 4 is used for backups, etc. Aside from all my Iphone stuff, the data of importance is my contacts db that includes all my iphone contacts.
The other Apple ID was issued by Apple when I started to use MobileMe. It has a me.com address.  When Apple moved to iCloud I got this account switched and also got 25gb of space that is good until Sept 2013. I have used about 2gb of space on that.  The only data of importance on it is the contacts, and this has a mix of some Iphone contacts as well as contacts I added as I was using one of the macs.
It seems that I did not grasp the limitations of Icloud and did not notice that my macs - MBP and MBA were and are storing my contact data using different accounts. Both contacts db's are full of duplicates as well as there are approx 200+ contacts that are in one or the other contact db, but not both.
So, I think I might merge the two into one contact db, then stop using the me.com acct.
To get to this state I would presume that I should export the contacts from both accounts, then open up one of them in the contact app of my choice, then import the second export, and then do the clean up.  Then I would upload the clean file back to my primary icloud acct.
By uploading a clean contact db that is corrected and duplicate free, how do I tell icloud to replace the db that is there with the one that I am uploading?
I have found nothing in tech articles, or discussions that suggest that the approach will work -- I am unsure that by uploading a clean contact db, I will not simply duplicate the names and addresses that are already there, along with adding the 200+ contacts that are not there.
Perhaps I delete the contact db from icloud - but again I see no information on that.

Then you should be able to just do the following:
On the Mac that is syncing contacts with the me.com iCloud account you are abandoning, open your contacts and export them as a vCard (File>Export>Export vCard).  Attach this to an email and send it to yourself.
Open the email on your other Mac and double-click on the attachment to import the contacts.  The contacts should be merged with the contacts already on this Mac, as well as to the iCloud account the Mac is syncing contacts with.
You can then clean up your duplicates by, for example, opening Address Book (Contacts) on your Mac, going to Card>Look for Duplicates, then merging any duplicates it finds.
You can then go to System Preferences>iCloud on the Mac that is syncing your me.com account, sign out of that account (which will delete any synced data), then sign into the iCloud account you are keeping and check the data you want to sync (which will sync the iCloud data to this Mac).

  • One apple ID, two phones = nightmare..help!

My husband and I made the jump to the iPhone 4S a couple days ago. Verizon transferred our contacts and everything was fine while we were in the store. They used our existing apple ID that we both shared from our home computer. This morning i woke up to find that all of his contacts and his apps were now on my phone and the same for him. I am assuming this is because of iCloud. I downloaded almost 100.00 worth of songs under that apple ID and now the technician with verizon says I have to create my own account and reset my phone, losing everything. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Is there a way to save my songs?

Just left the Apple store with an official answer.  You can have two phones one Apple ID, turn off auto updates so you don't automatically get apps on both phones. Then you need two different iCloud accounts.

  • Photostream not working - two iphones, one itunes account, two icloud accounts

    Hello,
My wife and I both have iphones (both 4s). I have had mine for some time and she got hers last week.
We have one itunes account. We have two icloud accounts.
We cannot get shared photostreams to - my phone will not receive invites from hers. It works the other way round though.
All the settings are correct and switched on.
Please don't send me to the FAQ page as I have tried everything on there to no avail
    Thanks
    Matt

The quickest and easiest thing to do is take the desired iPhone and connect it to the desired iTunes account. This most likely will erase and data on the iPhone and replace it with the data from the itunes account it is connected to.

  • One Apple ID, multiple iClouds?

I want to use one Apple ID for all my family's devices, but each device have it's own unique iCloud account.  How do I do this?  When I go to Settings --> iCloud --> it asks for an Apple ID, and there doesn't seem to be something to select to create a new iCloud account.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
To create an iCloud account, open Settings > iCloud, and log in with an Apple ID.
Note that you cannot create more than one iCloud account with only one Apple ID, so each family member will need to create an Apple ID for iCloud

  • One Apple-id - Two iPads

I have just one Apple-id, one iPad and one iMac.
I'd like to have a Face-Time from my home with my daughter on the other iPad.
How can I connect to ? (the identity is the same !).
Moreover, does FaceTime works if iPad is on 3G ?
    Thanks for your help

I have the same. Just give each device a different email address in the place where you turn this function on. I have only 1 Apple id/email address  I used my Comcast email address for the other device.
I do not know @ 3G issue. Once you get both devices working you can figure rather FaceTime works in that environment.

  • One Apple ID two Iphones. Can I create 2 icloud ID's to manage content?

I have a Mac that runs Snow Leopard
    iTunes is updated
    2 iphones
    1 iPad
    1 Apple ID
After the iso5 update our contacts have merged on the 2 phones.  Trying to find a solution so both iPhone users can manage separate content in iCloud under 1 Apple ID.
    Help!

I have this same problem as well.  My endgoal would be for both ip4 users to share 1 itunes id and have two separate icloud accounts so that purchased content can be shared with your family member yet your contacts and calenders dont merge.
At this point, I know of two solutions that arent of my preference.
Creating two separate @me addresses through the new ios 5 update during the icloud setup.  The problem is that most people just enter the email address associated with their apple id on both phones before they realize that something is wrong.  After updating both iphones we now have merged information.
To undo this has been problematic.  The only true solution for this circumstance has been to disable the cloud for 1 of the users in their icloud settings.
Ideally, you would delete your icloud account on one of the ip4's and redo the setup utilizing a different @me.com address than the other user.  This however, is not possible.  I deleted the icloud account on my iphone hoping that this would allow me to re-enter the information.  However, when setting up the icloud again on the ip4, the previously used email address is already entered with no option for edit. Addionally you are never prompted for creating a new mobileme email account. Thus still sharing information with the other user.
