One Application server accessing to seperate SID's
I have 1 Application Server setup. I need to access two seperate SID's(sid=AA,sid=BB) located on the same Database Server. If I am running reports from the Application Server for both SID's, how do I determine which reports belong to which SID?

Creating a connection pool using SQL Server 2000, Sun ONE Application Serve
Has any one succesfully configured SQL Server 2000 to work with Sun ONE Application Server 7 on Windows 2000 server service pack 4? I am embarking on a new J2EE project and I need to configure it as soon as possible.
The problem I am having is that, when I ping the data souce name, there is a connection error.
I have set the data source name and other details as follows:
Under JDBC, I have set the parameters for the connection pool as follows:
Data Source Name: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
Database Name: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=Test
User: test
Password: test
In the JVM settings page, I have set the prefix class path as follows for the location of the Microsoft JDBC
drivers that I downloaded as follows:
c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/msbase.jar
c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/msutil.jar
c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/mssqlserver.jar
Under JVM Options, there is a strange setting which I don't understand: perhaps this is the cause of the
connction error?
-Djdbc.drivers=com.pointbase.jdbc.jdbcUniversalDriver
Please help????I'm in a similar boat...
Trying to setup AS7 JDBC and followed the instructions on the link you provided and get the following exception. I kept the case the same, thinking 'setpassword" was incorrect, so I tried changing the property to "Password", but get the same exception but it points to "setPassword" instead.

Hi,
I am trying to deploy the sample application "mail connector" provided with the Sun One Application Server 8. the application has a MDB which polls for new messages for a user on the mail server. Just wanted to know, whetehr someone out there had tried deploying and running this sample application?
the changes that i made to the ejb-jar.xml file are as follows:
servername : fastmail.fm
username : "my username "

Dear all,
My boss require me to use Sun One Studio 4 update 1 to do the development, but
I find it's a nightmare to deploy the EJB/ application to the WebLogic6.1.
>
I've already installed the weblogic plug-in in the Sun One Studio.
During deploying I could not find any setting that ask me for theweblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
So I think the deployment will fail.
Is there any others tutorial or e-book that can help me to familiar withthe deployment
process?
Many Thanks for all of you.

Sun One application server connection problem for Oracle DB
On our project in live environments we have six Sun One application servers that have been configured to connect to RAC Oracle database using OCI drivers. ( JDBC thick driver)
Sun one application server : Version 7.0.0
Oracle Database : Version 9.2.0.4.0
Following are two scenarios where Sun one server receives an error while attempting to perform any DML operations onto the database e.g. when you will try to send a insert/update msg through sun One.
Case 1: - If the Oracle package/procedure/function is compiled using Alter package/function/procedure.... command
problem
Any attempt to perform a DML operation using RMI calls though Sun one application server with already established oracle connection will fail.
Sun One application server needs to be bounced to get an up-to-date state of the package.
Case 2: If the Oracle package/procedure/function is compiled using Create or Replace package/function/procedure.... command
problem
First attempt to perform any DML operation using RMI calls though Sun one application server with already established oracle connection will always fail. Any subsequent attempts will be successful.
We are using JDBC OCI think drivers. I tried flushing Shared pool at the Oracle side but it didn't help. For some reason Sun One seems to Cache the session information for already establised connections with Oracle database. As its live system we don't want any outage. i.e we know bouncing oracle app server will solve the problem.
So just wondering is there way/workaround to make aware the already estlised connection from sun one appserver to Oracle DB about changed packages/proceduress in the DB?
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

Directing loads on process chain to one application server
Hi Gurus
I have four application servers. The problem that I am trying to resolve is making sure all loads jobs are done on one application server with more background processors and queries can be directed to the other application server for end users....
When I run a load, the 1st package would start on the specified application server, but the next load would go to other aps servers...It does seem like the chain/load has a mind of it own...
I did the setting on process attribute background server to run in. once the dialogue process begin, it spun to other application servers....I am trying to restrict this job from going to other application servers, so that query run time limit could be set on the other 3 servers...
We do have load balancing. I am working with Basis to see what kind of setting that needs to be done or what kind of setting I need to do on the BW side
If anybody has done this before, please let me know...I really do appreciate this insight...
Thank you and I am looking forward to some suggestions from all

What is their difference betwwen Sun ONE Application Server and J2EE serv
Sun ONE Application Server is Sun implementation of J2EE server.
But it seems even no Sun ONE Application Server, use J2EE SDK command
j2ee -verbose
we still can launch an Application Server that support EJB, JSP....
what is their difference betwwen Sun ONE Application Server and J2EE server provided by J2EE SDK ?
Thanks,Sun ONE generally refers to the Sun ONE Application Server version 7.x. This is a J2EE 1.3 compliant application server from Sun. Sun also released a Reference Implementation version (RI) as a requirement of the J2ee 1.3 spec. This is the J2EE server you are refering too. The Sun ONE Application Server 7 is a more robust production ready App Server.
Going forward, Sun combined the 2 seperate groups to include just 1 release. The J2EE 1.4 Reference Implementation is the Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition version 8. SJS AS 8 PE is both free and production ready. Other version will include High Availability, Managing and Monitoring features.

Multiple call managers and clusters sharing one application server
Hi
I need to program my application such that it can be shared by multiple call managers and clusters. That is, I can only have one application server, and as a result I need to tell my application from which call manager / cluster this "request" is coming from.
My question is how do we do that? do we have access to some parameters / variables, similar to "#DEVICENAME#", which can be used to pass the call manager identity to the application?
TIAUse multiple instances of your application with different URIs (assuming the instances will not have to talk to each other), then, when configuring the service on each cluster, simply reference the specific URI of the application instance for that cluster. eg: Using Tomcat to host the PhoneMessenger application for Cluster1 and Cluster2, Deploy the same application twice: PhoneMessengerForCluster1 and PhoneMessengerForCluster2. The service URL on Cluster1 might be: http://app_server/PhoneMessengerForCluster1/servlet/PhoneMessenger , and for Cluster2 it could be http://app_server/PhoneMessengerForCluster2/servlet/PhoneMessenger

Creating a connection pool using Oracle 10g, Sun ONE Application Serve 8.1
Has any one succesfully configured Oracle 10g to work with Sun ONE Application Server 8.1 on Windows 2000 server service pack 4? I am embarking on a new J2EE project and I need to configure it as soon as possible.
I haven't done it myself on that particular service pack, but I don't see why it should be any different than configuring a connection pool on other vanilla win2k/other OSes.
Would you please try and let this forum know?

How to use more than one application server during initial load?
Hi,
we plan to use more than one application server in CRM during initial download in order to increase the number of parallel requests and to decrease the time for the initial load. Is there a way to allocate requests to more than one server? Is is possible via multiple rfc connections for consumer CRM in CRMRFCPAR?
Thanks.
Alexander SchifferHi Naresh,
thanks for your answer. It has solved my problem. SMLG is the transaction that I was looking for.

Ravindra ghangurdeThat means you have 2 instances running an enque process, even tho this is possible i don't think is meant to be in your system... you need to check why?
Check that parameter rdisp/wp_no_enq is not set in one of the application servers.
